yeah, make a better YouTube app
better yet, join Google and improve it from within
But then you can put "ex-google" on everything

Ex Google user "googler"
How to get hired at google as an ex Google employee
(as a non-millionaire)
Or you could write a TV series about the office politics they have

I would be going to college soon and I need to buy a laptop suitable for computer science. I have a budget of 1 L rupees. Does anyone have any suggestions??
I don't know much about laptops and stuff
I want one that is suitable for programming and stuff (And can also handle some decent gaming if possible 😅 )
(I want it to be atleast 15 inch or more, and touchscreen is NOT a necessity (though it wouldnt hurt to have it))
Please help me out if possible 😅
programming doesnt really require much at all. which games you wanna play is the main factor
you can try asking around in the suggest a laptop discord server
you dont usually get both a touch screen and good gaming specs btw
Thank You so much

i read it and didn't understand it
a lot of the stuff seems to be written as an unfiltered stream of thought
Found something interesting:
https://www.noulakaz.net/2007/03/18/a-regular-expression-to-check-for-prime-numbers/
Interesting indeed. It needs a recursive* regexp, which makes sense, normal ones shouldn't be turing-complete.
* well, self-referential.
That's an abomination.
It's surprisingly simple though
It's like recursive SQL.
luckily, recursive SQL isn't recursive (for real, it's just a stupid loop that can reference prior results)
the regexes for verifying if a binary number is divisible by like 7 is much much more complicated
which tbf this version doesn't take the number as the regex input
it takes a string of ones with a corresponding length
LMAO
imagine having one singular precious life to live and spending it on this
pretty good reason

Wtf #ot2-never-nester’s-nightmare instantly turned into anti cars outta nowhere.
tell me about it
@hexed sierra wait you dont know what a dag is?
directed acyclic graph
ah then i do know. i'd never seen it shortened, somehow
hardcore computer scientists: "everything is a graph"
hmm its usually capitalized
DAG
That doesn't make it better
everything is a graph
even graphs are graphs

when the acronym for one is a dif acronym in a dif niche

"uhh thats actually an AWS acronym too"
-a random dev, probably

Adding Wombo Spending
corey quinn would agree
whenever I see a reference to DAG's, I can't help but think of that scene in the movie Snatch where Pitt's character says "dayalekdags?"

Do I throw these 4 mfs in the same team chat and tell them to sort this shit out? Literally just trying to add a ID to a list. "BLah blah we won't be able to fill out our mandatory fields"

I think it's a pretty honest description of what most DS roles really are.
Not really
If the company knew what they want, they would pick ML Engineer, Data Engineer, or Analyst.
If they don't have any clue, they throw DS in there.
yeah
most companies throw DS position for SQl
SQL
Im like SQL for Data Science?
Its more for Database Management
Database Engineering and Management are completely different from Data Science @rugged owl
I look at the Data Science positions when I apply some of them are 5 years in Database Management
Im like what?
On the other hand, the Data Science function in an organization conceives, develops, implements, and practices all “technical application” of the data assets. In this sense, the “technical applications” imply the science, technology, craft, and business practices involving the enterprise data.
The Data Science team never owns any data; they simply collect, store, process, analyze the data — then report data-driven outcomes to the rest of the organization for business gains. The data scientist is considered an expert on Data Science and associated technologies, who relies on highly specialized knowledge (knowledge of statistics, computer science, AI and so on) for advising the enterprise on data-driven practices.
In actual practice, the Data Science function is under the Data Management function in the organization. The Data Science team brings a set of core technical skills to the organization to implement best practices, as set up by Data Management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Companies need to know the difference
We need an #office-rant channel
this is why I dont understand why companies list database management in their job description for Data Science
seriously
Where am i supposed to share my struggles with colleagues
Im applying all these jobs
and they require SQL Database Management
Data Scientist analyze data
make models
visualization
Dont call it data science if you want the person to manage an SQL database
its making me mad @tardy rain
Data science is not real
Why are you mad at something not real
i should be mad at it, every other "python dev" role is actually data science
what do you mean?
python dev is different than data science @tardy rain
Im not coding extensively in python
Im utilizing python to do predictions
analytics
like regression analytics
using statistical methods
is that what a regular python dev does?
do they create business models?
is that what you do? @tardy rain
I do webdev 💀
there you go
I wanna keep doing webdev with python
theres a huge difference between web soft dev with python
and data science
data science uses mathematical and statistical approaches
Yea but im not talking about my job, im talking about job ads on linkedin
yeah theres this huge misconception
in job postings
like I had an interview and asked a question about the position. He couldnt answer my question @tardy rain
I asked him what I was supposed to with the data
point and laugh
he said he didnt know
this guy's a frontend dev
like you are hiring for a position and I ask you what you want me with the data you present me
and you say I am not sure
Not anymore lmao, thats why i want to rant
oh? did you get fired lol
tell us the tea sis
No, Im supposed to do backend shit now
Picked up a ticket yesterday thinking it would be a simple API call and template dump
Turns out i have to implement everything myself
Im not paid backend money
Also i want to rant about other things too
I was in a meeting about said ticket and witnessed my manager disrespected by his manager
It was so uncomfortable
My first thought was i need to get the fuck out
have you considered just being a backend dev
It's not too far fetched for a "Data Scientist" to be comfortable enough with SQL to know basic maintenance that they might be required to do on tables they're responsible for
they ask you to do manage the whole warehouse @ionic isle
I do know basic SQL
however I dont manage a database
I like the react stuff tho
none of the Data Science jobs I applied asks for statistical methodology @ionic isle
just do both
like using regression analysis random forest
bayesian regression
chi square test
F test
I'm not sure if that's exactly what's meant then because I highly doubt that.
At that scale, they will most likely have a DBA, or at least a position on your team for a person who has a DBA background, to do that sort of maintenance. It's possible you're seeing that very position for that team and it isn't communicated well through the job posting.
Im already doing that
just get paid for both then
hey if you pay me enough i'll wear lots of hats
I'm about to scream, this should have been an easy task. Pull some data, then do a join. But "401 Unauthorized/Forbidden" error.
@rugged owl how are you enjoying your new Mac
If you need any recommendations let me know
Your right, it technically says "Authentication/authorization error
For apps
OH, I know where the error might come from
maybe your credentials
Did you get any software on it yet? @rugged owl
Thanks, yea checking now.
IT WORKED. I 100% thought it was our IT pulling bs again.
‼️
Not yet, waiting on my keyboard cover which arrived today before I start using. Got to keep it nice
yes
No. Iphone doesn't have firefox with ublock origin, or some other apps that are only on android.
you can use ublock with safari @rugged owl
also iphone has a better systemwide ad blocking
so that it blocks in app ads as well
ublock origin, not ublock is not on safari
Or I could just use firefox on macos
But for iphone, there's basically little to no option
Or, say ad blocker for youtube
yeah, all browsers on iPhone are webkit in disguise
you dont need a seperate ad blocker
theres a systemwide ad blocker on ipjone
iphone
it blocks the ads on youtube too
I have the iphone SE. Only ones I've seen are paid.
This article covers AdGuard for iOS, a multifunctional ad blocker that protects your device at the system level. To see how it works, download the AdGuard app
Yea, that's DNS based. I'm running pihole already
Samsung note
niceeeee
It's about to be 4 years old, but given how many phones samsung shits out every year, you would think it's 10 years old
I decided a few years ago that I won't upgrade my phone until it literally rolls over and dies.
I have pixel 4 xl
i got lineageos on it
😄
this is annoying
needs to be fixed
😡
I hate RStudio
Hmm, didn't they like, reinvent the iPhone SE? I feel like I remember my dad having 2 iPhone SEs but they were different
I think mine's the iphone SE (2nd gen). 3rd gen is most current.
Ah they've got multiple generations
Is the first gen the really small one that's got the sharp edges?
Looks like it from google. I recall it was like iphone 6 body or something?
What the fuck happened to rust syntax highlighting
Pretty ironic considering i'm making a tokenizer
But still what the fuck

I think it goes without saying we don't want links to pirate sites sharing here, nor do we wanna discuss said stuff @lime maple
it's funny that that isn't what my concern was but yeah that too

Are the terms Pragma and Dogma related in any way?
i don't think so
pragma is froom the same greek root as the word "pragmatic"
"pagmatic" and "dogmatic" come directly from the Greek words "pragmatikos" and "dogmatikos".
"dogma" and "pragma" are likewise Greek words. "dokeo" (I teach) and "prasso" (I practice) are the stems, and "ma" is a verb suffix that turns it into a noun meaning "the result of [verb]". So "dogma" is "that which is taught" and "pragma" is "that which is practiced".
I'm not sure why "prasso" has its Ss turned into a G for "pragma".
So from "dogmatikos" and "pragmatikos", the only parts that are root-specific are "dog" and "prag". At this level, there is no relationship, and any perceived similarity between them is coincidental.
Interestingly, "doctor" (which is a Latin word) shares an etymology with "dokeo". (Latin borrows some words from Greek, but it also shares a common ancestor with Greek.) It's ironic that a title for one who pursues truth would be related to a word for unconditionally accepting that which might be false. Or perhaps it's exactly what we'd expect.

every javascript destructuring concept in one snippet 👍
or, the blessing/curse that is javascript:```js
const {
current_weather: {
temperature: currTemp,
time: lastUpdateTime,
windspeed: currWind,
weathercode: currDesc,
},
hourly: {
time: hours,
doesNotExist: currIndex = hours.indexOf(lastUpdateTime),
precipitation_probability: {[currIndex]: currPrecip},
relativehumidity_2m: {[currIndex]: currHumidity},
uv_index: {[currIndex]: currUV},
},
daily: {
temperature_2m_max: [, ...nextTempsMax],
temperature_2m_min: [, ...nextTempsMin],
weathercode: [, ...nextDescs],
},
} = await getWeatherData(latitude, longitude, timezone);
lmfao
no types or interfaces in 2023?
hours.indexOf(lastUpdateTime) this might be an error also, because indexOf can return 0 and it can be valid. that's why you often see code that checks whether the value is greater than -1
executing code in destructuring assignments reminds me of python braces 🥶
lol don't know what those are, i haven't learned it yet
typescript related?
yes
you should definitely learn and use Typescript. i would never code JS without it again
holy hell
cool, i've heard a lot about it, i'll definitely check it out soon
i think im seeing objx after like a year or something
i actually got into front end work accidentally
ages ago i was hired to do back end and when i got there they were like
hey Muffin we know you can do back end but what about this front end stuff?
so i did it and now i can do both
UI's are a rabbit hole. just time box it.
and the very big ecosystem of tooling and frameworks to choose from 🥴
just use nextjs
nextjs owns
yes and no - there are only two frameworks that are super popular and you're unlikely to see any other frameworks in a professional setting
sure, that's fair. I did have a good bit of trouble deciding on what stack to go with for a recent personal project 🥴
react and..?
Angular
for the most part, you could probably spin a wheel and end up with something very usable
let me know if you have any questions! been doing this for 16+ years
I'll be sure to 👀
not in my experience but i was working in an Angular environment forever now
svelte 😤
tbh you and dawn are the only people ive seen talk about svelte
IKR
lmao
i think react is probably more popular
i actually agree - learning React was such a breath of fresh air. it has no boilerplate or any of the annoying stuff. however, Angular does have standalone components now which abstracts away the need to create modules
lak mention solid, I was thinking of trying that out at some point
remix also looks interesting
i hear about it all the time. it sounds really cool! i'd like to try it out some time
but for now i must fix alembic migrations
i want to try Alembic too
its more of a pain in the ass than anything
but there are only so many ways to do migrations 🤷♂️
have you considered that maybe you're bad at database migrations /lh
ok im a complete noob but react/vue/angular etc fall under client side rendering right?
not necessarily
Abooo is back again with his sharp comments 🥰
I think React has server components stable now
Robin is bad at migrations
Next.js defaults to server components
next and similar metaframeworks provide SSR and stuff too

😄
do you think cats ever feel compassion?
are you in turkey @tardy rain
No
okay
and friendlyyy
Possibly the softest thing I've ever toucbed
The ragdoll cat is a large, affectionate cat that goes with the flow. Ragdolls are ideal lap cats because they simply go limp with pleasure when they are being petted, giving them their name. This cat breed is one of the largest, but don’t let the size intimidate you. Their big blue eyes and loud, throaty purr let you know they're just big softies. Ragdolls are notoriously social, making them a good fit for bustling homes with plenty of people and friendly pets.
I'm not totally comfy with creating mutant cats
animal breeding was a mistake
You cant really pet wild cats tho
good.
How much does a ragdoll cat cost?
A ragdoll costs between $425 (pet quality) and $2,500 (breeder quality).
Are ragdoll cats good with kids?
Ragdolls love to play and cuddle, so they make great pets for respectful kids.
Do ragdoll cats need to be brushed?
Ragdoll cats have shorter fur than other long-haired cats, and their coats have no under-layer, so they require less brushing. Still, occasional brushing is good for coat softness and tangle prevention.```

when I first moved it was way better than Turkey
a bit more caffeine may be nice.
oo
now Im not so sure
i wanna move too but idk where to
most places are both better in some ways and worse in other ways
egypt is lame af
the USA is on its way to become the next Turkey
lol
🥲
do you happen to live in luxor?
I mean in the last decade Turkey has improved.
nah lol
It has but the US is no longer the country of freedom @ancient dune
ok. I only ask because the only egyptian guy I knew (who lived there I mean, not egyptian-american) was from luxor. he complained to me that he couldn't buy cows at reasonable prices because of some army monopoly or corruption or something wrt the local cattle market.
Has it ever been? The slogan seems to come from 1800s
I mean it was great until the corrupt Supreme Court ruined the country
idk not comfy sharing city but yea i just dont like how overly religious and conservativr and anti-lgbt it is. this and other issues like military rule and lack of democracy n shit. people still get jailed if police finds anti-gov posts on their phone
ah, when america was free and only white men who owned property could vote!
yeah sounds about right lmao
Supreme Court is unfortunately corrupt in the US now @ancient dune
they ban abortion
soon they will ban gay marriage
🥲
even the internet is monopolostic. they banned unlimited internet and milk the people over stupid quotas now
Tbh I might sound like a chauvinist but my country is def on the top of the list lol
Where are you from?
ok, first, they did not ban abortion. they struck down a ruling that said that states could not ban abortion
Netherlands.
well duh
Netherlands is way better
well they will strike down a ruling that says states couldnt ban gay marriage soon @tranquil iron
and, while I do not like the whif of corruption on the current US Supreme Court and I'm in favor of legalized abortion, I do not think the US federal gov should be making laws about it. it really is a state issue.
gay marrige too?
marriage is not a federal issue
First country to legalise gay marriage 🇱🇺
gay marriage should be a nationwide decision
why is federal countries a thing again
not by states
that would require a constitutional amendment
well they should amend the constitiution
u dont know ur own flag?
that is beyond the scope of the current legal framework. it is usually changeable if you disagree with it though
wat
it's rather difficult, but certainly possible. last constitutional amendment, the 27th was ratified in 1992
Couldn't find it and it looks alike. but i see the codes now for the flag.
🇳🇱
the simple fact is that the powers of the US federal government are rather constrained. many people do not like this. hell, I don't like it. but the law is the law, until we change it.
it already is divided. into 50 states.
people that prefer liberty can become one
north vs south didn't work super well last time they tried it
i like how square-ish the states look
I mean I'm not pro no-abortion and all but I think it could have been a bit more strict but not no-abortion ever.
people that prefer religion can become one
you realize that most US states have their own military forces, right? they are, through agreement, currently subordinate to federal military forces, but they don't have to be
state laws are the laws that affect most people's daily lives
I mean Florida governor ruined Florida
that's on florida
2026 is close
Drivers licenses are issued by your state but is valid in other states, wouldnt it be the same with marriage?
I mean the amount of money goes to the militairy is insane.
currently it is the same with marriage
Spend some on your citizens.
it always be like that
power above all
military spending is 12% of the US federal budget and some 7% of total government spending
But I don't really get it like let china get good technology and improve. America just wants a monopoly on it.
the US allocates a much smaller proportion of its GDP to the military than other countries
IOW, if we eliminated the US military, total amount available to "spend on citizens" at the federal level would only go up by about 1/7th
that's not really true. it's larger.
just not hugely larger
proportionally no, i thought
among major nations, the US spends somewhat more than the norm
@young shoal It may be an unpopulair opinion, but I think it's better to communicate rather than to threaten eachother with their large army.
History says that's not the case
you have to look at very small (usually repressive) regimes to see nations that spend much more than the US
the problem is that not everyone thinks that way
more like war war sell weapons war
Considering inside NATO the USA spends like as much as the 2nd to 5th combined in the list of spendings.
the US spends 3.5% of GDP on military, China spends 1.7%, Germany 1.3%, UK 2.2%, Russia 4.1%, India 2.7%
that data is from 2021 so Russia's is probably MUCH higher now
yes, but that's simply because the US is quite large and very wealthy
iow, the US has a huge economy
or as some say YUUUUUUGE
tru is beg
I mean we got tax evasion and drugs.
da beggenist
the amount of tax evasion in the US is actually rather low vs most other nations
not because americans are more honest, but because it's actually rather difficult to do here
in comparison, tax evasion in europe is easy
Atleast we get iphones with usb c
i still dont get taxes. like what do you get taxed on
all we pay for here is bills
everything
Everything and essentials is less.
government wants that bag
the entire tax enforcement arm of germany has like 100 agents covering 80 mil people. the US has some 20,000 agents for 360 mil
open company in london on name Mickey Mouse, ez money. No one checks lol 🙂
why isnt it automatically added to price of stuff
did you know that there are no KYC checks in the UK on real estate purchases?
some stores do that
In europe it is.
if i understand correctly you seperstely pay tax on stuff
fair
it's so you know how pissed off about taxes you should be
hm
lmaoi
i didnt , but i know u can open comapny on fake name cuz no one checks and ppl do it and launder money lmao
that wasn't a joke
only tax i met was VAT you pay after resturant meals or internet recharging
Normal stuff it's 21%, food aka essentials etc is 9% and things like cigarettes and alcohol has their own separate tax as well above the normal tax.
doesn't surprise me. I consulted on a "make a movie to hide money" scheme back in the late 2000's that used a bunch of shell companies
daym
it's absurd how easy it is to hide financial shit in europe

AND normal people pay much higher income tax rates in europe. AND companies pay much higher taxes for each employee.
sounds depressing
they are told that they get good healthcare and university education and retirement benefits in exchange
maybe they even do. whatever. if that's what they want, fine with me.
i heard usa healthcare and education expenses are thro the roof tho 💀
I mean it might sound like it but you do have to take into account that almost everything here is insured and pension is build up automatically.
it depends
Price of education is almost 0 and public transport is a bless.
If you live in the EU otherwise education isn't close to 0.
i dont want insurance i live dangerously 😎
technically, it's now illegal to be without health insurance in the US as well. our system is now sort of like germany's but with weaker proactive enforcement
hm
if you don't have health insurance in the US you get fined when you file your taxes
well, they don't cal it a "fine" but that's essentially what it is
wtf
Idk how it's handled over there but I got money from going to school.
capitalism
And I get money to pay my insurance.
91% of americans have health insurance now
That's good.
of the 9% without, none are very poor (they're covered by free public health insurance)
Doesn't non-insured people still get treated and compensated in public hospitals tough?
they get treated and billed at very high rates
no insurance means you gotta pay <shrug>
Yeah but there is some kind of fund raisers they can go to?
only 2% of american children are now uninsured
That's still a lot.
it is. but their parents know. it's their parent's fault.
2% of 70m~
do big numbers scare you?
if you don't have insurance you do. and everyone knows it.
understand that 86mil people are covered by medicaid (free gov provided health insurance for the very poor). that's 1 in 4 people.
ppl be opening companies on name like Donald Duck, Adolf Tooth Fairy HITLER, xxx Stalin, Mr XXXXXXXX etc and no one checks 😆
thanks for the tip
lmao
hitler's secret middle name
the US doesn't even have a company registry
instead it has 50 of them
Adolf Tooth Fairy HITLER
XD
are there any docs for the Windows EXE format?
Like... PE's? There's a lot of 'it depends' that goes along with that.
like what?
It kind of depends on why exactly you're asking.
Generally speaking, the kind of 'takeaway' you should know is that PE Files are sectioned. Below is the actual relative layout of this particular (malicious) program.
The Magic Bytes define the type of systems the file may be able to run on. (This is stuff like the DOS header and image header among other things.)
Headers contains information about the size, virtual address, characteristics, memory regions, etc.
.text contains... the actual 'code' (but not really).
.data (and it's derivatives .rdata and .bss ) occur as... well, data. Things like strings and constants. I think... the import table can also occur in .rdata but...
.idata contains your import table. You'll find .dll's by reference (such as calls to kernel32/shell32/etc.) here.
.reloc is your relocation table.
.rsrc is where .ico's and other static resources are stored.
.edata is your export table.
.CRT is a C++ runtime.
.eh_fram is... export header frame? I don't actually know, I glossed over this. My kneejerk reaction is this malware dropped another .exe.
.tls is... self explanitory, it contains information to construct a TLS interface.
🥴 PEFiles are complicated, and not a lot of this is granular knowledge that you'll need to know. If anyone's reading along, feel free to correct me.
there are many
that is a lot of sections
Yeah this particular file was an asspain but that seems out of scope of the discussion lol.
is even switching to a language because it added support for X compilation type worth it
maybe
@mild echo Not in order, but usually:
- List out what you want your project to do, then isolate the very core functionalities as opposed to quality of life (QoL, i.e. ease of use) ones
- Come up with how do you want the user to interact with your project (diagrams, mockups, etc.)
- Work out what you need to build the project (libraries, algorithms, software, infrastructure, etc.)
- Start working on the core functionalities
thx i always struggle with this
most time im like yo lemme make this then a month later im working on polishing the most obsecure useless features known to humanity
that moment when C code compiles without warnings, and works as intended
"Something isn't right here"
i thought you like Rust
Which F1 team do you support?
Ferrari @mystic drift
whats your team?
@civic pasture Just to be clear, recommend Kali as a bare metal boot system for individuals trying to get into Linux is wrong. There's no two ways about it.
It's not a matter of opinion, it's actually misinformation.
Why not Ubuntu?
where's the TempleOS love?
Vettel?
I like to think that you were like: "Oh. Wall Street crashed. Meh, time to get into F1"

the legend!
its horrible what happened to him
Question from a does-not-watch-vehicle-races: What's fun about watching F1? It looks to me like "Cars go round"
I see every race, and most of the qualifying, but I don't tunr into the practices any more.
I mostly just see the timetables in practice
I watch chess GM play and I'm there to sniff the sweet sweet tactics, but what about F1? "Ooooh man that guy missed the curve shiiiieeeeet"?
But I watch both qualifying and the race
every sport is boring until you get into it. No one is going to root for "tall player throw ball" until you find out the backstory of the player or the team.
stories are what are interetsing. How is this guy doing, will that guy make a comeback, can you believe he unretired and is making podiums?
I'm really excited for Austria this year
I have high hopes that Mercedes can challenge Redbull
And Silverstone too
Fair point. But like, is the fun of watching F1 in the moment-to-moment during the race or just staring at the timer and mutter good stuffs about your team?
Allison is leading a hell of a charge
people like to laugh at nascar and just goinbg around in circles, vs the curvy crazy stops and skillit takes to drive an f1 car, but it's just silly. the stories are what makes every sport.
The fun of F1 is watching your driver pulling an incredible move and triumphing, of course
It's a team sport
....eh?
I'm gonna have to sit down with you folks one day for an F1 session
Mercedes pulled an incredible strategy call there and Hamilton pulled through it spectacularly
some races less than others, but there's always some tension and drama, especially as each team has 2 drivers, and there is interteam rivalry
This weekend there will be Austria
yup
Which I'm really hopeful that Mercedes will challenge
july 2nd
Not enough gasoline?
Ah
They run on street circuits
And that's just boring
Put them in proper tracks and I'll give it a go
I had a crush on this fella in high school @mystic drift
Kimi-Matias Räikkönen (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈkimi ˈmɑtiɑs ˈræi̯kːønen]; born 17 October 1979), nicknamed "The Iceman", is a Finnish racing driver who competed in Formula One between 2001 and 2021 for Sauber, McLaren, Ferrari, Lotus, and Alfa Romeo. 🙂
I disliked him at first, but I was rooting for him when he came back to the team using the Lotus name that eventually became caterham.
that's @(#*^&$ insane.
No, not the game, Shakira
Shakira is just an amazing person from everything I've seen. Hamilton has been grown up a lot, but seems a bit out there tbh. I root for him. But I'd expect him to match up with grimes. Mad respect for both of them, but for very different reasons.
Thank you. And yeah agree, shame about the team. Just glad they're still in buisness and the engeering side of the company ends up being hired by a lot of other companies to help on car design and engines like tesla and corvette and stuff.

I found this out of context tweet. Twitter decided it needed context.
12 30
Like "Twitter" decides it.
I have seen this person before
Just kidding
That last chat gpt response legit sounds like a fallout character
Only in ot1 💀 💀💀
Iirc the kids entered the car for like a joy ride and he said he was gonna kidnap the kids, quite funny
I don't see the humor
Prank as a life lesson. The kids were hitch hiking
we're not just kidnapping kids, we're saving lives 👍
You've heard of foo bar baz? May I introduce:
foo:bar:baz:qux:quux:corge:grault:garply:waldo:fred:plugh:xyzzy:thud
where did you get my password!?
This is also an example of "key:pair" values from co-pilot. Yeah... this is why we don't let tools drive. xD
C# Moment
Windows moment
wayland
Reminds me of C. If you mess up your conditions and execute ERR macro (that checks for errno) when return code was actually 0, the error looks similar because errno is 0 as well
Ye lets go last exam day
when does summer break end for yall?
When does it start 💀
@neat juniper Have you seen Dragon Prince? (moving here to offtopic)
Nope what is that?
Another show from the same head writer/director of ATLA
Oh really im assuming since u mentioned it its pretty good?
It's so-so, but I was actually an animator on it, haha
First 3 seasons are pretty good
The one on netflix?
yeah!
Thats awesome, ive been looking for something new to watch while I code ill give that a go :)
I keep seeing it pop up there but havent sat down to watch it yet
Rotten tomatoes 100% wtf
100%? wow
It's definitely not as good as ATLA, but a lot of similar themes and world building
good character writing too
Its kind of hard to get to ATLA levels
yeah exactly
Impossible probably
I can hear it in my head.
Return value
If the function succeeds, the return value is non-zero.
no but it only sometimes returns that
Yes, I know. I primarily do Win32 API development so I understand the suffering.
i guess i'll just have to suppress that lol
Except I become second-class citizen since I use Rust lol
Yeah ATLA was so incredibly made. Im hoping the new animated movie lives up to what ATLA was like
Yeah Ik im so excited for it but cant get hopes up its gonna flop
it can be difficult to recreate the magic if it's not fully the original team
Which is exactly what happend with dragon prince. The first 3 seasons were all done with the same team, but season 4 was released years later with an all new crew
oh a whole new crew?
Times have changed, anything new would just not feel the same
I wish they would stop doing this
Remaking my futurama 😔
not entirely, but a lot of the team disbanded after season 3 to move onto new projects
oh ok that makes sense.
Im also worried what the new Avatar is gonna be like :/
Continuing it on is something id love but like its gonna keep going downhill each timeee
Went to go return my tablet before leaving for this year and someone put this in my backpack
Im pretty sure someone did it while i was waiting in line
what is it?
atla is incredibly based
A rubber band ball
Someone also stole my water bottle and put a pokemon card in my locker
Shit card too, some sort of basic electric type
kernel rage >:(
gotta say, you live in a rather strange environment
cant have shit in detroid
pov: you are trying to run a python2 script
python2 is used by heretics
Pov you finally found an easy, to use, understand and customize github repo on a topic you are learning and there are not many other resources. which requires simply running 3 commands
People are still committing python 2 into production at my workplace
Have you tried firing them?
No, but one of them did get let go for putting his pronouns in Zoom to (con/fused) and he apparently never understood that pronouns aren't a joke.
Really?
So if I had my profile at your company, I'd get fired?
No, that's actually legit.
believe it or not, straight to jail
You are, in fact, a doggo. Your profile picture proves it.
ic ic
company is probably toxic asf
do you know for sure that's the reason they were fired?
seems like an easy correction to make
Their rather bigoted tirade on Nextdoor the next day strongly implied it.
Speaking of
or that's what they think they were fired for
Yup. Far too much emphasis on being extroverted, being in the office, socializing, and completely ignoring accessibility guidelines in UX/UI design.
Actual quote from one of the UI designers at work "Why should I make it more accessible? I can use it just fine, therefore everyone else is just making excuses."
xD
kinda sounds like a not so great place to work tbh
