There are a few different ways of thinking with respect to learning to code and having the linters helping you out. For some, there's a view that because they hold your hand, you never learn to make make as many elemental mistakes and so you're not building your foundational knowledge with much structural integrity; Take the linter away and you're lost.
The other being that you're not relying on it so much as learning from it.
I would say it comes down to the individual's ability and learning styles. Though I would tend toward saying it's best to use it as a tool for when you've got at least the fundamentals understood.
