I don't understand jit and numba except in vague terms. Unless it's a method that's directly processing a numpy array in some way, I'm not sure that decoration is appropriate.
At a guess.
Well, then those.
we're saved
for mask in self.buffer:
vao = mask.vao
vao.sides = vao.exec_pipeline(mask.position)
mask.vao = vao
self.vram = np.append(self.vram, [mask])
self.buffer = np.delete(self.buffer, np.where(self.buffer == [mask]))

hi
this is valid
Guys i need your help
@slim eagle With?
Well
Why doesn't it work ?
school work
BASIC was getting a bit dated. Python was similar and accessible.
and more powerful
and by similar...kind of not, but...
How do you write code in here ?
Here's how to format Python code on Discord:
```py
print('Hello world!')
```
These are backticks, not quotes. Check this out if you can't find the backtick key.
nm = int(input())
i = 0
zmin= 100000000000000
for i in range(nm):
i=i+1
z= int(input())
if z<zmin:
zmin = z
ng = i
print(ng)
So basically
same @frigid shard
I have a list of numbers
and i gotta say the position of the smallest one
But they say my code is false
Badgers
@slim eagle Have a look at the min function and the list.index method.
Those are a python function and method.

>>>help(list.index)

The Big Merino is a 15.2 metres (50 ft) tall concrete merino ram, located in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia. Nicknamed "Rambo" by locals, the Big Merino contains a gift shop on the ground floor and a wool display on the second floor. Visitors can climb to the top and look out through the Merino's eyes to view the local area.

code what?
i'm thinking of splitting it up into different files
yep
but why
a discord bot
cuz the file is getting to big
it's better to keep them in one file
imo
'cause you're not going to write a HUGE file
different files would it more readable
it already has 400 lines of code
and the size is getting way to big
if it's 401 then you should split it
putting some pressure on my editor

I burned my mouth last night. I take bread, olive oil, eggs, bit of salt and maybe a splash of milk or water, blend it up and fry it in a pan. I sprinkled some panko bread crumbs on it, too. It's not bad. It's like an eggy bread pancake. So I put the crumbs in my mouth and I underestimated how hot it was and how little heat I could dissipate by passing air over it while it was sitting in my mouth.
I would have spat it out, but I didn't want to make a mess
oh,are u fine now?
Mouth's a little sore, but it's fine.
It was only a minor injury not requiring any inspection nor treatment.

so i have to learn it now
i have worked with flask
it's cool

yep multithreading or multiprocessing?
#code-help-voice-text please

That's kinda like asking how to do I learn to juggle
You learn the fundamentals, then you practice
you learn python the same way you learn to swim: you start at the bottom and work your way up
You learn python by like how your grandfather teaches you to swim, he just throws you in the water and instinct takes over lol
I love how inaccurate the swimming analogy is
Its more like you learn the fundamentals, practice, and cut yourself every time you forget a : so that you learn it faster.
so the swimming analogy dosent float for you? @unreal swallow
🤦♂️
@sick cloud Wow. Were you speaking to yourself?
hi!
no, i wasn't speaking

hello @somber heath @gentle flint @past elk @severe elm
@craggy zephyr It's best to avoid overwriting builtins, like list.

vowels_iter = iter(vowels)
print(next(vowels_iter)) # 'a'
print(next(vowels_iter)) # 'e'
print(next(vowels_iter)) # 'i'
print(next(vowels_iter)) # 'o'
print(next(vowels_iter)) # 'u'```
>>>alpha = iter('aeiou')
>>>next(alpha)

>>>next(alpha)
'e```
>>>alpha = iter('aeiou')
>>>next(alpha)

Hey everyone 🙂
Mushroom Wellington?
Classic beef Wellington is a technical feat in which a tenderloin is topped with foie gras or mushroom duxelles, then wrapped in puff pastry and baked This vegetarian version is less exacting yet just as impressive Seared portobello mushrooms are layered with apple cider-caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms, which are seasoned with soy sauce...
Been meaning to make this 😄

@whole bear We all learn at the level we're at. Subject matter and difficulty can be adjusted for the learner as required.
A long journey begins with a single step, and all.
thanks
sounds hot
Which one @rigid nest ?
Maybe we can help you get unstuck 😄
Ah, still meaning to read it.
Erm, the name rings a bell.
Oh, I know where I heard this term...
(define (p) (p))
(define (test a b)
(if (= a 0)
0
b))
I'm currently trying to learn about lambda calculus.
(test 0 (p))
Alright
So it's like lazy and strict evaluation?
Right ok. This came up on the server the other day. Because someone asked a question about combinators.
Then we were all trying to do lambda calculus in python in the #esoteric-python channel.
But, yeah, the fact that python has strict evaluation makes it difficult.
But, I realised that you can get around this, with the ... if ... else ... construct.
which is evaluated lazily... I think?
Not sure if I'm using the term correctly.
Yeah same 😄
<a> if <b> else <c> will only evaluate one of <a> or <c>
Depending on the condition.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm currently trying to learn lambda calculus by reading the wikipedia article.
Yeah
Yep
I started writing a CAS
Computer Algebra System
For untyped LC
!eval
Something I wrote yesterday in #esoteric-python:
S = lambda x: lambda y: lambda z: x(z)(y(z))
K = lambda x: lambda y: x
I = lambda x: x
factorial = (S(S(K(S))(S(K(K))(S(I)(I))))(K(I)))(lambda f: lambda n: 1 if n == 0 else n * f(f)(n-1))
print(factorial(10))
@stuck furnace :white_check_mark: Your eval job has completed with return code 0.
3628800
was that C++ ?
I wanted to convert the whole function to use just S, K, and I, but Python's strict evaluation makes it impossible, I think 😄
Erm, so
The first part (S(S(K(S))(S(K(K))(S(I)(I))))(K(I))) is equivalent to:
lambda fn: lambda arg: fn(fn)(arg)
what was your try? @digital jackal
I converted it using these rules: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combinatory_logic#Completeness_of_the_S-K_basis
wdym?
Which allow you to take any closed lambda calculus term (combinator) and express it using only the S, K, and I combinators.
pip install tensorflow
And only application, no abstraction.
pip install tensorflow...
Anyway, that's enough showing off 😄
@digital jackal ?
what?
im installing it from cmd
when im entering the command its not working
Computer science?
Ah, no. Combinatorics is essentially concerned with determining the size of sets.
I.e. counting.
Yep, essentially they aren't related.
Same as with calculus and lambda-calculus.
Mathematicians aren't good at naming things 😄
I think they just name things after people now.
so what's the output of pip?
type pip in cmd
and hit enter
But never the person who actually discovered the concept.
Always the person who re-discovered it a decade later.
I want to see if that command exists or not
i did it
it shows me the usage of it
ok so it works
yea
Or when constructing algorithms, how do we want to think about look ahead vs look behind?
and pip install tensorflow doesn't work?
effectively i+1 vs i-1?
nope
pip3
its says no such whatever
do you have pip?
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement tensorflow (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for tensorflow
Alright
Erm, I'm not sure what you mean?
it opens up python 3.8 in the store
@digital jackal
pip3 install --upgrade https://storage.googleapis.com/tensorflow/mac/cpu/tensorflow-1.0.0-py3-none-any.whl
im using python 3.9
Use this
tried it
and do python3 -m pip install tensorflow
didint work
Oh right. I tend to avoid that altogether.
For example, if you want to compare every adjacent pair in a list, you could do:
Python was not found; run without arguments to install from the Microsoft Store, or disable this shortcut from Settings > Manage App Execution Aliases.
error
wait
its downloading
!eval ```python
xs = 'abcdefg'
for x, y in zip(xs, xs[1:]):
print(x, y)

001 | a b
002 | b c
003 | c d
004 | d e
005 | e f

Or better:
import itertools
def pairs(iterable):
it1, it2 = itertools.tee(iterable)
next(it2, None)
return zip(it1, it2)
This allows you to use any iterable, not just sequences.
Wherever possible, I try to avoid using any indices as they're complicated 😄

it1, it2 = itertools.tee(iterable)

[('a', 'b'), ('b', 'c'), ('c', 'd'), ('d', 'e'), ('e', 'f'), ('f', 'g')]
Btw, here's where I got the second example: https://stackoverflow.com/a/5764807/2846495

Based on the SICP book, if you're familiar with that.
Nice 👍 Good luck!
