Howdy

#

Just finished up on my 200 line SQL query.

#

❤️ SQL

#

Especially if you format it nicely

vocal basin
#

I don't like how VSC handles indentation changes, especially because of how I format SQL

#

instead of moving the whole selection the same number of spaces, it moves each line to the nearest next 4 (or whatever default) spaces

primal shadow
#

I hate most SQL autoformatting

#

I have my own way

#

Luckily my mess in in PHP

#

and they have a decent multiline string thing that doesn't get formatted

#

Well

#

unfortunately that means I'm using PHP

If you broke an NDA to provide a publisher with a manuscript, that's what you can be sued for (with subpoeanas figuring out your identity), but promoting a book based on the manuscript is not the same thing. However, you can probably still be sued for it under the same cause of action.

Then moderation team role should also be above helpers.

teal crystal
vocal basin
#

IPv6 on Windows is a security hole

teal crystal

maybe you enabled too many

whole bear

Gotta go

teal crystal
vocal basin
#

(slightly out of context but a general idea)

vocal basin
#

@somber heath no, at almost every step possible

#

different address allocation, different routing, very different address format as a whole

teal crystal
#

@placid jackal i disabled ipv6 on the wifi interface in windows

vocal basin
#

you have a client with IPv6 enabled, connected to the router and that client doesn't get a IPv6 address automatically, right?

#

53 vnics

#

making it a bit more troublesome to find anything non-veth

#

oh, and also bridges

#

docker and ifconfig/ip aren't friends

teal crystal
# vocal basin you have a client with IPv6 enabled, connected to the router and that client doe...

2 routers, one main, second is openwrt installed tplink router

i am just not able to get ipv6 address automatically from main router into openwrt router
here, one thing to note that i am able to get the ipv6 address from dns, but traffic can't be route because no gateway being set automatically in openwrt router as it gets connected to wifi

but in my phones/pc i am able to get the address finely and able to access ipv6 websites also

#

i can show you the problem, give me stream permissions

vocal basin

I might've opened too many windows

teal crystal
vocal basin

#

@teal crystal so the issue is that WWAN6 is unmanaged, right?

teal crystal
vocal basin
teal crystal
vocal basin
#

@placid jackal ISP does have control over it; weird tunneling bypassing ISP is done through means other than UPnP

whole bear
#

What you doing right now?

vocal basin
#

if you can enable/disable it on a router, ISP can allow/disallow it too

#

@teal crystal can you show the interface setting again?

vocal basin
teal crystal
vocal basin
whole bear
#

Is he setting his lan?

vocal basin
#

@teal crystal that's DHCP server not client

#

we need client settings presumably

#

@teal crystal I guess you can do static for IPv4 and DHCPv6 for IPv6

#

ah, it might be making it IPv6-only, yeah

primal shadow
#

There is more content, undoubtably

vocal basin
#

you can try bringing back that WWAN6 device

teal crystal
primal shadow
#

But there's less and less places the bulk of people go

vocal basin
#

seems to be the only way within such limitations to have both DHCPs

primal shadow
#

There's a bajillion doors out there, but we're all going through teh same 5

teal crystal
#

Means not able to get any ip address either ipv4 or ipv6

vocal basin
#

@teal crystal can you select "static" without saving? (just so we can see what options there are)

teal crystal
#

But I don't want to set it statiscally that's why I am finding for the DHCP

vocal basin
#

why do you need an IPv6 on that computer?

#

to connect to something IPv6 outside the local networks?

ivory stump
#

very chonk

vocal basin
#

SSD?

teal crystal
#

Without any ipv6 link between openwrt and main router
I am not able to ping any ipv6 address

ivory stump
#

yup

placid jackal
vocal basin
#

I was tempted to buy an 8TB one

placid jackal
#

new page file

vocal basin
#

@teal crystal do you have nmcli or anything similar installed there?

vocal basin
#

I'm trying to remember how to do it in alpine-ish systems

teal crystal
vocal basin
#

it really looks like just a web UI issue that there is no option

#

is there any SLAAC-related option in there?

#

or just "auto" or whatever?

#

can you show /etc/network/interfaces contents?

#

@teal crystal you probably need SLAAC not DHCP for IPv6 anyway

#

cat

#

okay so there is no /etc/network

#

hmm

teal crystal
#

So this one
wlan1 interface is connected to wifi network

vocal basin
#

i.e. pinging something that's IPv6

teal crystal
vocal basin
#

routes are missing pithink

vocal basin
#

probably in network tab

#

it doesn't recognise the other router as something it needs to route IPv6 through

ivory stump
#

Should I move my OS drive to the 4TB, or maybe just move games etc and have it as a few extra partitions for games, wsl, etc?

vocal basin
#

is it NVMe?

ivory stump
#

yes

#

Samsung 990 pro

vocal basin
#

yeah, WSL and games might be more write-speed-dependent than the OS

ivory stump
#

I mean, the OS is also on SSD lol

vocal basin
#

moving the OS is kind of non-trivial

vocal basin
#

the ratio

ivory stump
#

Mine is a more sensible split

vocal basin
#

I used to have >110GB cached in RAM at some point

#

so there is no reason to read from disk

ivory stump
#

true

vocal basin
#

the other SSD

#

I should count how many Samsung SSDs I actually have

ivory stump
#

I have 3 rn

#

1TB 970 evo, 2TB 980 pro, 4TB 990 pro

vocal basin
ivory stump
vocal basin
#

anything <1TB is no longer worth buying

#

256GB is more than half the price

#

and "no need to buy more than you're going to use" argument does not work

#

because larger SSDs generally have more write resource

#

also SATAs are now as expensive as NVMes

#

It just builds the stack of nodes for self and other exactly like how we did for depth calculation, and then just goes through both stacks to check for mismatches. Issue is that first off we have two lists for self and other, and secondly they are fully built before comparison instead of being cut off when they have a mismatch and not waste time being fully built.

the annoying thing about Brittany is the tides

in spring tide you have a 12 meter difference between high and low tide

so you get currents of maybe 30, 40 km/h
