If the review was removed, it means that the mod team actually deemed it to be breaking the review guidelines, so it was a legit removal. As for DMs, you're free to block people you don't want to communicate with.

Reviews don't just get removed because the owner requested it. They're removed only after they've been reviewed by a member of the team.
