We’ve made a significant change to the voting experience. Up until now, top.gg took 100% of the revenue it generates from ads on the voting pages. In addition to that, the experience was spammy with multiple ads on the page. We’ve changed up the process and aligned the incentives. One skippable video ad (like YouTube) per vote. At the end of every month, you will receive $1 in credit for Auctions for every 1000 votes. Since we are splitting the CPM, we are requiring users to disable their adblockers. We still have to calculate exactly how much revenue we generate with the new ads — therefore we might revise this amount later down the road (eg to $1.25 or $0.75 based on how effective it is), but for now, it is $15 for your first 100 votes and $1 for every 1000 votes thereafter. The credits will have to be used within 30 days, to avoid a situation where large, credit-driven bids overtake the auctions system.
