So I think the verification server is a bit glitched out/delayed. For whatever reason, Discord is stating my bot only has everyone permissions, despite having additional roles with additional permissions. That's why it failed the verification yesterday and again today. Thank you @sweet grove for checking it again in another server to see it does indeed work 🐐

Posting here because I'm sure my bot won't be the only one that runs into this. I'm not sure if Discord is not happy with the spammy add/removal of bots there and causing some sort of desync or what is going on exactly.

Oh hey I assume you're the guy, apologies for the issues and lemme clarify quickly about the permissions issues
Apparently it was missed in my submissions but the bot when executing any commands that require any permissions should give the highest level privilege to the server owner (alias "Kernel")
... However because the server of the verification server had DMs turned off the commands failed completely (my bad, never thought of this being a possibility and the function to save the permissions happens AFTER the DM is attempted to being sent)
Sooo the bot never sent that you actually didn't have sufficient permissions, I just fixed it
You're going to have to ask whoever owns the server to either run /permissions set_user [you] Kernel or I can right now give you manually the permissions if that's alright
Apologies again for the situation though, this really is all because of the weird bug

Our current average review time is 1-2 weeks.

Some bots may take longer to review than others depending on their features. Because of this, we can't guarantee your bot will be reviewed as quickly as someone else's, and there's no exact timeframe for approval. There's also no way to check your position in the queue — but remember, you're not first or last!

You're free to edit your bot's page anytime, both before and after review. This won't affect your place in the queue.

we can't tell you that. as long as it follows our rules and guidelines, you can expect it to. we review bots one by one and test every part of it

I completely understand and support the rule against incentivizing positive reviews, but has it ever been considered to allow incentivizing any review, regardless of rating? For example, if users received the same reward whether they left a 1-star or a 5-star review, the system wouldn't bias people toward leaving only positive feedback. The goal wouldn't be to manipulate ratings, but simply to encourage engagement and gather more honest reviews overall, which ultimately helps developers and the platform. Would a neutral incentive model like this be acceptable or up for consideration?

One could say that any form of incentivization might still pressure users or affect the authenticity of reviews. But if the reward is clearly detached from review content or rating, and it's made transparent that negative feedback is equally valued, then it shifts the focus to participation rather than outcome. This approach could help create a more active and honest feedback loop without compromising integrity.

Dyno and some others i belive do something like this with vote rewords. Issue with reviews is any reword would bias people. Thats why i made my own review system for my bot so its honest and not public sight.

Yes, vote rewards have always been allowed I'm currently doing that. I was curious about reviews though. It's a valid take that any reward would bias people, but I was thinking if it was truly neutral and fair if that would be considered to be allowed.

Is there a reword? Ene if you say "be fair" any reward would be bias likely. Otherwise jsut asking for reviews is more then fine

There would be some sort of incentive, no command would be "review locked" it would be more so (for my bot at least) like they get some coins or something for simply reviewing the bot at all. Like:

"Consider leaving any review (positive, neutral, or negative) for our bot at ___ for 500 coins."

I trust my bot enough to unironically say that they could even leave a negative review

As for the policy and tos, this is only needed IF you want to do the smaller verification in order to add it to discord discovery but of course this verification part isn’t necessary to do and not completing this one shouldn’t prevent the verification you have to do at 75 servers
