Once u start typing something, they go away and it shows search results

E.g. searching for "hydra" or "mee6", you'll get ad results.

don't do auctions but I think prepaying is a really flawed system because if an ad does too well, you ask the user for another payment and if it doesn't reach expectations you refund (aka adding more things that can go wrong during the transactions and if you've ever dealt with them you'd know how unreliable they are) it should be more like how Google ads does it, you pay after the advertisement airs

if you're worried about people cancelling cards and running away with the money you could make it so they have to topup first

then possibly for trusted users you can disable that step

Every week I see some advertizers paying very high CPMs for a limited number of impressions when they could get a lot more impressions for a lot less money. Is there a logical reasoning behind that, or just a lack of sense regarding CPM bidding?

Yeah, but even when the auction ends I see guys who spent like $100 for 1000 impressions when a few bots below someone spent the same amount for 10,000 impressions. And both of them get their ad displayed (not at the same time, though). Except if I'm wrong and the second one doesn't get their ad displayed, but the spot would be empty once the first hit their spending cap then.

So I don't know why someone would possibly spend that much in CPM, and I'm trying to find a reasoning behind that

So your best interest in CPM bidding is to bid at the last minute and try to exploit opportunities. Get the most "leftover" impressions you can for the most competitive CPM, if I get how it works

$1.00 @ $18

new bids <= $1.00 CPM are accepted.
new bids of $1.01 to $1.24 are denied.
new bids of $1.25 are accepted.
new bids of $1.26 to $1.49 are denied.
new bids >= $1.50 CPM are accepted.

Are you asking how many people may join your server based on an estimated 10,000 impressions?
It’s definitely hard to impossible to predict the click thru rate, and especially people who then decide to join

You will definitely increase the odds of people joining by having a good server description, short description and a nice server image.
But the main thing is to bid on relevant tags. If you bid on a gaming tag, but your server is about track running you would get less clicks than if you where to bid on a more targeted tag

How long does a bid slot run for?

If I were to win a bid, how long do I have that slot - is what I'm asking.

the slot runs for the amount of impressions that you paid for so if you pay for 1,000 impressions, itll show until you reach 1,000 impressions - whether it takes 30 minutes or 24 hours

hello gamers. how was your auctions dm notifications experience today? we made some updates and fixed a couple bugs, so a lot more dm notifications should have made it out. how was it, was it spammy? do you want to be able to control whether you get specific dms? do you wish you got more dms, less dms? did you notice any typos or weirdness :< or did you not get any at all? if not make sure your 'discord notifications' toggle is turned 'on' on the auctions website in your settings

Here is some maths on what I've found with my particular bot -

average earn: 2.5c per server per month (based on 14 game bot patreon accounts)

$1 + 8.9% transaction fee + 10% patreon fee = $1.19
13 servers x (2.5c x 3.7 months) = $1.20

3.7 month earn back time for $1 CPM @ 5% CTR```

yes, by providing a budget you're willing to pay: If you've gotten your impressions, but still have budget left, you'll be charged for extra impressions if you do get any

Why was I charged for "extra" impressions?

When you receive more impressions than initially estimated, this is when "retroactive charging" occurs. This means that despite you not paying for the impressions at the beginning of the week when the auction ended, your ad will show up and you will be required to pay at the end of the week. However, you will never be charged more than your maximum bid budget.

the problem with the upvote page is that you're there upvoting because most of the time you're supporting a bot you like

it just seems like everything is becoming montised and paid now

thats the issue

and it will probably affect bot developers not willing to splash $1k a week per ad slot

which is why, and i'm not joking here, i would start looking at other bot list sites because you're going to get barely any gain from top.gg anymore, as its becoming a literal play 2 win warzone

You can't determine on how many servers you'll get with a fixed amount of money. There's several factors that go into "if a server wants to add your bot or use your product etc"

It depends on

• is your ad interesting?
• does it apply to what users want
• is it easily understandable

The impressions come itself, clicks is what you're responsible on your end with your ad's design

You could try the final step of the add server flow, it is pretty targeted for server owners, but is rather new so data about usage is a bit low
