To address what I'm guessing is your point: yes, you can just late join missions that are almost done and ge the XP. You can repeat that over and over, and get a lot of XP for not a lot of game time. I just don't understand why anyone would want to do that. Why is anyone even playing a game they clearly don't want to play? But people do. And the thing is, at least in Deep Rock's case, it doesn't affect anyone else as there is no competitive aspect of Deep Rock.
Have a laugh at their try-hard methods, shake your head, and get back to work, miner!

At the end of the day, no one who plays Deep Rock will think you're cool because of some numbers you did or didn't earn. Not a single player. They might think you're cool if you play a mission or three together and have a good time, but no one is going to care about the numbers.
And all the rest of the world who don't play Deep Rock will care even less about your arbitrary video game points

Every system can be cheated somehow. And some people will always cheat (although I can't for the life of me understand why). At least in Deep Rock, cheaters don't ruin the game for everyone else, they only avoid playing a game they're trying to play (which will never make sense).
I've definitely seen level 10 players who play better than level 100 players. The numbers only indicate how long you've been playing; they're a poor indicator of skill.
A person who only plays Haz 1 could become level 100 in probably a similar amount to someone who plays Haz 4. Both level 100, but which one would you want on a Deep Dive with you?

Presumably, with time comes skill, but it's not a hard and fast rule. The metric is not broken, but your interpretation of it is not in line with what it's actually representing

From where I'm sitting, it's working as intended and it's working just fine. It shows how long someone has been at it.
I expect someone who's level 100 to know how to play the game. I'm surprised when they demonstrate otherwise. But I never once think they shouldn't be level 100 because of that. There are quite a few reasonable explanations for that occurrence. But that's beside the point. If they seem less capable, but a solid team player and they making an effort of trying to play even if they aren't getting it quite right, I'll probably try to communicate, maybe try to teach some things, and I'll have fun carrying

My only few tips I have is:

Bright glowy stuff = Weakspot
Dark colored stuff = Armor

Learn about each bug, they can be stupidly easy to kill once you learn some things about each one.

Keep an ear out, never know when you hear a “Screeee” of a Grabber and not acknowledge it.

Keep an eye to the ceiling, lots of new players I met often get screwed over by those damned cave leeches.

Learn each weapon, knowing how they work can be a difference between success and total annihilation.

Also, if you want to get to the endgame content fast, get busy promoting once a single class 1st, then you can level up the rest. A nice part of the content is unlocked only after you promote a dwarf :)

Quick question. When finishing the drill dozer quest. Where do you deposit the drill dozers head? Is there any point to it? I carried back to the drop pod to leave, but my guy then dropped it and it clipped through the drop pod floor as i left. No bonuses where given for the head so not sure i did it right? 🤔

i run barbed wire on most my builds for vamp killing. The extra drill speed is faster then you can walk, so unless you are digging downward it’s not that much faster

i like the drill speed one cause it lets me walk faster while drilling. and with walk forward and jump combo movement i can get a stair case up made alot more efficiently than i could without it.

cryo prob has the highest skill floor and the highest skill ceiling. It requires a lot of combos to work, but once you get good at it, almost everything in the game can be easily dealt

yea i am aware of the power of freeze, and in most games i build to it. just doesnt work for me in this one. prefer fire damage and ammo conservation over it. then when i got overclock for goo gun i prefer the defencive and control.

for t4 drills with melee damage as t1, should i stick to max ammo or go for the bloody cooling.

If you refill turrets all the time like me then armor piercing might be more useful, but if you aren’t running trains on enemies and would rather leave turrets in the middle of chaotic areas then ammo for sure

You can carry a lot of turret ammo so for that kind of damage in an aoe attack it’s a bargain

uses no turret ammo, the chance to trigger an electric blast is based off electrocution chance. You can shoot the turrets while they aren’t built as long as you build them once and move them around

Idk exactly how enemies target you but if they spawn in and the platforms are there they’ll actively go around it

If you’re in a cave and want only ground enemies then shoot the ceiling and the walls with platforms linked to each other
