Play in haz 2/3 missions, make sure to play every class so you can get a feel for what your favorite might be, if you can instead of running solo missions join up on others and watch how they play. Always be wary of ceilings as cave leeches can grab you and most of all just have fun, its all abt learning and figuring out what gameplay is the best for you

Tip of advice: I highly sugggest playing the new weapon you get after getting them so you can almost instantly determine "Do I like the playstyle of this weapon or not?"

If you are going down the cave, make sure you can go back up just as easily.

I found something that worked for me and my buddy: We changed his DNS from automatic to the Google DNS servers. Primary DNS 8.8.8.8, secondary 8.8.4.4. We also change MTU from automatic to 1450.

After that he could instantly join me. Have to test it when he‘s back online, maybe someone else could test this an give feedback.

Edit: Played with LAN connection. We both have the same settings. Both on PS5 with the PS5 version of the game.

I also noticed earlier that you cannot slide down the Gunner's zip line any faster if you press the W key. In other words, all directional keys on the keyboard have no further function in terms of movement other than the direct movement of the character 🤔

Nitra spawns are different for each Mission type. Cave Complexity can lead to more veins being on the ceiling that you may be missing since it’s hard to spot. Sometimes terrain can spawn weird and make the nitra veins really small (I notice this mostly in hollow bough)

It's interesting. Yesterday I started a solo mission and set up a zipline to test it. At first nothing worked. Then in the middle it worked in places. But it cannot be reproduced. It sometimes feels as if it is also a matter of the camera angle whether it works or not. But But unfortunately I haven't figured out what the problem is yet.

Regular Deep Dive is roughly equivalent to Haz 3 to Haz 4.
Elite Deep Dive is roughly equivalent to Haz 4 to Haz 5+.

Well I normally play hazard 3 but it seemed more difficult

The first stage shouldn't really be any different than you might encounter on a normal Haz 3 mission, but I will say that even within a Haz level, the difficulty can vary significantly due to the highly procedural nature of the game. I've had plenty of Haz 3s that feel like 4s, and 4s that feel like 5s, and even 4s that feel like 3s.

The nice thing about Deep Dives is that seed that controls the procedural generation of the caves, minerals, and objectives remains the same all week (it changes on Thursdays), so if you retry a Deep Dive it will be the same layout as the previous attempts. It gives you the chance to learn them and improve at them over time until you can complete all three stages

I would suggest messing around with it for a bit, on controller it's gonna seem a little slow but at the right sens it makes it easier to move around but a little harder to hit shots

Why is it that greenbeards always get into hazard 5+ lobbies

I get that some people want to play harder difficulties, and I'm fine with carrying a game every once in a while, but it feels like every time I start a session of drg and boot up a couple haz 5+ missions, eventually on one or more of them some dude without any promotions, fresh off of installing the game, will join in.

I don't want to gatekeep but I just don't understand why you as a new player would try a difficulty where you're dying 20 times within 7 minutes, that just doesn't seem fun.

It's honestly a problem In any game. I don't have a problem with everyone doing the hardest content, I have a problem with them rushing to the difficulty and not being even remotely ready to handle it. My biggest gripe though is those that refuse to learn and improve. That's a beyond common problem in FF14 even. I generally just tend to play solo haz 5+ all modifiers with Bosco on deep rock though TBH, he's honestly really good AI for getting stuff done.

My biggest issue is I've been programmed to not try even remotely gatekeeping so I just force myself to endure the hell that is a significantly harder experience than I signed up for, losing out on bosco and having the game scale a bit in difficulty. It just feels like a dickhead move to kick people out for their level.

Being real, I think haz 5+ should be locked behind getting a promotion, similarly to deep dives, so I and many others don't have to go through the moral debate in their head to allow it every time some 0 promotion dwarf joins.

Bosco is really good tbh, the only 2 issues he has is

1. If you got grabbed by a cave leech you're dead
2. No more richual
   But otherwise having him constantly mining for you, slowing down bugs with electricity, and slinging cryo rockets at hordes will give you a lot more utility than most dwarves.

I’ve had a rare few occurrences when they’re returning players who lost their save or they played on pc and they’re good. All the other times if they die repeatedly over and over without doing anything they just get kicked😂

I always say ask in chat if they’re comfortable with haz 5

Genuinely it's why I believe haz 5+ should require you to have a promotion, not just doing an assignment. There's incredibly few players without promotions who are able to hold their own

By the time someone has a promotion, most will probably be able to tell whether or not they'll get their ass handed to them by the bugs on haz 5+ missions

And veteran players who lost their save/played on pc are so few and far between that it's a better idea to just force them to bite the bullet and do regular haz 5 missions. You might get one or two of them every hundred hours, but true greenbeards who are clueless to the horrors that await are far more common.

If you still have your PS4, go on your PS4, from the hone menu, press options and you should be able to upload save Data to the cloud.

Go back onto your PS5, download the PS4 save Data from the cloud. Run the PS4 version. Then run the PS5 version and it should give you the prompt to switch to the save with more progress.

Hey all,
I started this game years ago on ps4 version and got every dwarf to bronze 1.

Once ps5 version came out i switched to that, ive put hundreds of hours into that account and close to 100% trophies.

I redownloaded the ps4 version and my progress has been set back to bronze 1, i know about the save data menu in options to transfer your data but it only downloads data from ps4 version to the ps5 version, and not the other way around

Basically, if i wanted to get the 100% trophies on the ps4 version of the game im back to square one and will lose hundreds of hours of progress, just wondering if maybe im an idiot and missing something or if there is no way to get your ps5 save onto the ps4 version

Plast oc means you need to play near your platforms. So if you are constantly moving further thru a cave you will lack as many opportunities to do so

Whereas in a salvage operation, you're playing in the same one area usually, so you'll have more opportunity to make your platforms explode when enemies are near you

At least that's my take

Same as engi mines. They work better when you are staying in one area instead of moving from cave to cave

That OC is best for controlling an area same as with using mines or using the platform repellant

If you do both dives and your weekly, you should walk away with 3 blanks every week

The weekly core hunt assignment always includes a blank

It offers the same 3 rewards as a deep dive

So if you do all of em, you get 3 blanks, 3 weapon OCs and 3 cosmetics OCs basically guaranteed each week

And then you roll the dice with finding machine events during normal missions

Not really. Leveling matters early on for unlocking perks and stuff. Unlocking haz 5 doesn't really give you anything other than harder mission and fun chaos

You get more XP and gold I guess for haz 5

Nah, deep dives are terrible for leveling. You should just run them for the rewards and you only get them ONCE each week

Running the same dive again will not give you anything other than XP and gold

As someone who used to run the dives multiple times a week, I discourage this

It's worthless unless you're just doing it for fun or to help someone else

Normal missions are often shorter and this easier to farm leveling/gold
