Ammo consumption across classes and builds will just take time.

Driller is my only fully ranked class so far and I still occasionally run out of ammo bc I'm not paying attention

But even just that experience gives ya an idea of how his class works so it's good

The quickest way to gain XP is simply completing the primary and secondary mission objectives as quickly as possible, and doing that over and over again. If you can quickly do bonus objectives, that can help, but it's always better to complete more missions than it is to spend more time in any particular mission if you're trying to gain XP quickly.

However, if you're talking about unlocking the Fat Boy overclock, XP has nothing to do with that after you do your first Promotion. Acquiring that overclock, just like any overclock, is completely random. When you do something that awards an overclock, like a Weekly Core Hunt, Deep Dive, Promotion, earn a Forge Mastery bonus, or successfully complete a Machine Event, you will receive a completely random overclock for a random class (for Machine Events you can choose a class, but the overclock itself will still be random).

Weapon Overclocks are additional modifications available for each weapon, beyond the modifications you can unlock with credits and minerals in the Equipment Terminal. They're earned, as I mentioned previously, from Weekly Core Hunts, Deep Dives, Promotions, earning a Forge Mastery bonus, or successfully completing a Machine Event. Most of these things become available after your first promotion. Overclocks, once earned, must be crafted in the Forge Terminal (which results in Forge Mastery levels leading to more overclocks).

The Fat Boy overclock is for the Engineer's Grenade Launcher, and is basically what you described wanting, haha. It upgrades the weapon's normal grenades to mini-nukes that blow up everything and everyone (not quite that dramatic, haha, but it's a huge increase in damage and area of effect as well as doing radiation damage)

People like it. People have lamented not unlocking it, which is what I thought you were originally asking about with your joke; you had a real question in there without knowing it, haha. I've not played with Fat Boy too much, but it can be used to great effect.

There's so many options, and there's really no right or wrong one. I always recommend trying everything and seeing what you like and what fits your play style. Find what is the most fun for you; the answer won't be the same for everyone. For Engineer, I really enjoy all of the secondary weapon options, but have been playing with the Shard Diffractor lately

No, PC is not able to cross-play with PlayStation. The Steam version has no cross-platform capability whatsoever, and the PlayStation version is cross-gen (PS4 and PS5 can play together), but it's not cross-platform.

The Xbox console version can play with Xbox PC version, which is where the confusion comes from.

Ask Sony. It's their service. DRG does not have servers, it uses each platform's network and infrastructure for everything. Steam and Xbox have cloud saves turned on by default, but Sony does not

Hi y'all, has anyone else had their PS5 hard crash when starting up the game? The fan goes nuts after the info screen, then I get 3 beeps and the console crashes.

No other games on my console have this issue, only DRG

Google searches suggest that it's an issue of overheating, but I can't see that being the case as it happens shortly after starting the game and it doesn't happen to any others

Okay so a bit more info: If I go into the home screen after continuing through the info screen, the fan won't rev up and the console won't crash. But as soon as the game is focused for more than a few seconds, it crashes.

Make sure your existing save on PS4 is uploaded to the cloud, and then on the PS5 version you can go to the in-game Options menu, select Save Menu, then select Restore Save

If you had your save backed up to the cloud, you can go to the in-game Options menu, select Save Menu, select Restore Save, and download your save from the cloud

I'm not too sure about the Sony side of things. All I know for sure is that the only backups that exist are only available though the Sony cloud via PS Plus, and you may have to make sure automatic backups are turned on if you're not manually backing up saves. All that can be done is to check the in-game Save Menu to see if any cloud saves are available

All I know for certain is that DRG has no servers. It uses Sony's (or Microsoft's or Steam's) own infrastructure for cloud save backups and networking. In the case of Sony, that requires having PS Plus for the cloud saves. Otherwise, all saves are local. If the saves are not available locally or in the cloud (for whatever reason), there really isn't anything else to do.
I don't know a thing about the error you experienced with the local saves not being available. Perhaps it's possible to resolve that in some way that doesn't destroy the local copies, but I wouldn't have any idea about the feasibility of that or where to begin

Transferring your friend's save to a USB and then using that to upload to your on PS5 MIGHT work but I'm not sure bc your account would be a completely different name (since your DRG account and all that is just using your PSN name).

Not sure how the game would handle you trying to use a save file from a different account but worth trying

Can you explain what you mean on "not my main account subscribed to PS Plus" part? Is your account attached to someone else or sharing?

For instance, I play on PS5 with PS Plus and my friend is able to play online using my account on his PS4 so his save files end up in my cloud as long as he keeps the auto uploads enabled on my PS4

I have a question on the topic of save files from diferent regions on ps5. Where should I ask it?

Recently I had to switch from US Version to Eu version. The game downloaded from the Eu psn shop does not recognize my old save files from the US download. It just starts a new game right back at the tutorial I have two save files in my ps5 file manager. The older one from us and the new fresh one. Is this normal and can nothing be done?
Switch had to be made as my US ps plus expired and I couldnt run the US download even though I'm currently living with someone that has an EU ps plus subscription and I have acess to it due to the console being set as main for both accounts.

No cause my ps expired. I have to download it again using the Eu account the I can lanuch it but it creates a new save file instead of loading the old US one.

Yup. I have us psn account cause I used to be there. You cannot change regions on psn and now I live in europe. I got the copy from ps plus. I see 2 solutions I renew ps plus or I buy the game not use it as part of ps plus library. I had a similiar issue way back when rocket league was part of ps plus before it became f2p, however there I just lost some cosmetics while the progress stayed.

I will eventually do one or the other( renew ps plus or buy the game) I just wanted to ask and let You know that this is a thing even though I realize that my situation is not common at all.

Regarding your question about the save files the back up files where created automaticly. I just booted up the game, saw that it started the tutorial, saw that No progress is there all lvl 1, checked the restore save option and it showed 3 save files , all 0 progress, all created at the same time as the fresh, also as I mentioned ps5 file manager showed deep rock galactic save files two times. One smaller 20 mb new file, and one older 44 mb and the time corresponded to my last gaming session.

I don't know what you are geting at? There is no way to change your ps account region and downloads of the same game but from different regions are treated as entirely different games by ps that is way I cannot use my US save file on a EU download. At least that is what I gather from info I found around the internet. Am I wrong?

I mean in my situation it does not matter whether it is region blocking or license difference since I cannot play on my old save. The game creates a new file and this can only be avoided if progress is saved on servers not localy. This is caused soely by different region download.

I dont think so cause my settings were also fresh and time and date of the files where corrseponding exactly to a fresh EU start and the last US gameplay session. Also I just hope I did not wipe myself clean hahaha xD

the zhukovs with embedded detonators is imo one of the greatest setups you can have. mainly against larger enemies.

It’s not the most powerful setup, but IMO the most fun you can have with the Zhuks is Minimal Mags with the reload speed upgrade. Gives you an insane 0.8 second reload time for near 100% uptime. It’s so fast that reload canceling is actually slightly slower.

Use the teir 5 electric mod and the weakpoint damage mod with either the slowdown grenade or the boomerang. You can one clip a prae with that setup, shooting its butt of course

Yea I'm not sure that was a thing. I don't think many (if any) games offer that on console yet.

Definitely not DRG. There's nada in the patch notes about it and I have my PS5 set to the highest settings offered

You need a role. Go into #welcome-and-rules to grab a role and then you can pop into one of the LFG channels (there's one for each platform, the PlayStation One is #lfg-playstation ) and try to find a crew

Yea it's been an issue for a little bit now 🥲
Best known fix is to switch your connection type (aka if using Wi-Fi, switch to Ethernet cable or vice versa)

Nope the error was completely different. Me and a friend were in a game, game froze for a couple minutes and then once we came back it wasn’t letting either of us connect to server. Was a first time thing, and I believe it fixed itself thankfully

There is a form of slight aim assist that manifests as described above: it slightly slows down the movement speed of the reticle whenever it is passing over enemies (and I believe interactables as well), just as a slight nudge to keep your aim on target.

Nope, no clue what's coming tbh but I'm curious too. Btw next season is later this year (like June, so we should start getting hints about it in May) The next thing we're getting is another maintenance patch in March. Here's the roadmap

Shooting range has been turned down many many many times. There's a steam mod but for us on console, missions are the shooting range

it can't get fixed if there are not enough reports made with enough details.
no pinpointing the issue = trying things in the dark, which is pretty much not gonna happen.

You can report bugs and crashes using PleaseFix (link is in the pinned messages in #bug-discussion ). I strongly encourage you to do it and share it around to get more reports. The more info, the better.

@mossy hatch long time no see. I don't play the game much unless there's an event. But I had someone comment on one of my DRG YouTube videos about the connection issues that still happen. So I decided to get in this game again and still encountered the same issue. Ethernet, I can't join games but if I switch to wifi, I can join. Sad that this is still ongoing.

Unfortunately part of the answer is it's just not happening to the devs, so they're unable to generate enough info to track down the cause and develop a fix. And it's truly a bizarre issue, I've personally never seen anything quite like it before. If no one else has either, and the devs can't seem to trigger it for themselves, there's not really much of a place to start. It may even be a combination of things with certain PS units combined with certain network configuration or something, meaning it's going to be pretty much impossible to track down without a lot of information. It's a real bummer for everyone involved 😕

Yeah. Someone from Germany is quitting the game. He commented on my 10 month old YouTube video about it. 🤷🏿‍♂️ I told him to come in here and voice his concerns but yeah. Seems that's not gunna do much. I also told him maybe he might like helldivers 2. That game is similar to DRG.

If you're on ps5 it might have something to do with your gaming session/activity. Atlest I have noticed that a session/activity is created and you are automatically added to that one when you trying to join a game. And if that fails you won't be able to join another game as long as you are still in the session that was created.

Also it seems more reliable to invajt people from your friends list to a session or activity then using the the in game option.

I've been searching for recent mentions of a black screen bug in this server and I'm not finding anything. Do any of you know anything about a bug where after you "disband team" and try to load the rig again, the screen just stays black? You can still move and hear all the sounds of you moving and stuff, but the screen just stays black. If you go into the menu, that's visible, so then I pick "Disband team" again, and it loads the rig fine, but sometimes all the sound in the game is gone after that, and I have to fully close the game and restart.

I don't think I ever ran into black screen bug. Sometimes the map overlay bugs out, but I change local time all the time for 2x.

I've had that issue happen a few times tbh but usually only when I disband team several times in a row (trying to get the beer I want before opening a lobby for deep dive).

Other than that, can't say I've seen it. Tbh it's such a minor problem for me that I've never submitted a bug 😅

So i have a problem...
Today i switched from ps4 to ps5 and i downloaded drg to my ps5. The problem however is that is acts as a new game (ps5 version) while the old game with all my saved data remains in the ps4. The game itself was saved on an extended storage, i can play the ps4 version of the game on the ps5 now with my data. Is there any way i can play the ps5 version of the game while keeping my data from the ps4 version?
