It wouldn't be too bad to include a cigar as a cosmetic as part of a hat or something with Vanity Pack now that I think about it.
Vanity Pack currently only supports headwear, armor, and eyebrows, but a cigar would probably best fit in the moustache slot.

basically they're just mini crassuses (crassi? idk i dont have enough smart stout to comprehend it), these are glyphid exploders that carry the same mutation that results in crassus detonators, upon exploding these leave roughly the same size craters as default exploders, albiet instead of slag its molten gold, not too much gold but every little bit counts!

in the steam version, you can go to the escape menu and there's a modding tab. go there and sign up for mod.io and accept their terms. then you can subscribe to mods to download them automatically and apply them to your game. there's a breakdown of the types of mods in the pinned messages here

Because all mods have to be tagged as "Compatible with Current Game Version" manually by the modders themselves on mod.io. Some of us just can't be arsed doing it every time a hotfix comes out because there's definitely going to be more.

Is there some trick I'm missing for getting mods to show up in the modding tab? I already have a mod.io account, I've connected it to Steam and subscribed to a few approved cosmetic mods, but every time I launch DRG and go to the modding tab, I get an infinite spinner where it says it can take a minute for newly-subscribed mods to appear.
For anyone that was using the Remove All Particles Open Beta mod, please switch over to the original mods. The original mods have now been updated and the open beta mod has ended and been edited to be an empty mod file.

The in-game interface that displays mods installed in a lobby takes a hot minute to show you the list; it has also taken to hiding excess mods under "and other 15 mods", which I might not be interested in as Approved mods differ from Barrel Yeet to stuff like Karl Class so I kinda want to know what's under the spoiler.
Everyone has their own preferences so most of the time you're indeed playing with Bosco (best teammate tbf) unless you have a premade of 4 players. UI for mods in general needs work.

this channel doesn't allow images at all (??) so I can't show it, but the in game prompt to start installing mods opens the Steam browser with nothing displayed. I can hover my mouse and see that there are text fields and buttons because the cursor changes, but it's all invisible except for half of the logo in the top left. the mod.io repository opens in my normal web browser just fine
i'd rather not install them manually via zip archive in case I want to quickly remove things that get outdated or similar.

Wow I have never played this game so much solo until I started using mods.
after restarting the game, that page does load in the overlay now but just repeatedly asks me to connect my steam account to mod.io when I'm logged in on my actual account I used for snowrunner, so I logged out and tried letting it connect via Steam instead, which uses the same email address, so now it's telling me my email is already in use.
this is no longer a problem for the discord, it's just garbage website design I have to fiddle with.

Unless you want to confront the cheat user about it, there's nothing you can really do besides leaving. Luckily, cheaters aren't common in DRG, I've met maybe 10 people doing that over 1.5k hours.

Then there would be fake reports and growing toxicity, which isn't nice at all
Then again, you might suffer from your driller teammate more than from a cheater, so it's not that big of a deal

If a mod gets updated, does it update automatically in game. Or do I have to manually update it
Usually mods automatically update, but there's been issues with autoupdate lately. In case you get a faulty mod version (it will have the latest version number but might be missing fixes/new features if the author has a proper changelog), it's recommended to unsubscribe and wait for the mod to uninstall then reinstall by subscribing again.

so for the xbox app the modding tab isnt there and i cant install any mods from mod io, any help?
delete the mod.io folders and relaunch? had it happen last time and unsubbing from broken mods helped (because the problem stayed even if i had them subbed/installed but inactive)
a temp fix would just to disable modding with the launch options in steam, until all your subbed mods are stable, but that'd also disable all the working mods too

When you load the mod, it should change in the list to tell you what its actual classification is. If it's just a cosmetic mod, it'll change to verified and you can play as normal.

Hi. I heard this was the place to get the sand out of my save file. I relied on that mod that replaces the player portraits with simple icons (because I have a difficult time telling one greasy, dirty, hairy man from the next). And the sanctioned mod for this is on strike, so I just used the PAK. Now my save file is sandy.
if you remove the pak from the directory/disable it, you can then go to options > save menu and select your main, non-sand save and swap to it
Yeah, but I've been playing on this file since then. Not a whole lot, but this method sounds like it would remove my progress gained since the file became sandy. I don't want to re-do my assignments for want of a flag that only tripped because I wanted the game to be more legible.
I was instructed to come here and pester a 'QA' person who would take the file and scrub it. And while I don't want to be a bother, the sanctioned mod that was supposed to fix the concern I was having without tripping the Sandbox flag is not working.
(The problem is resolved. Please stop sending me DMs asking about it.)

Before pressing apply, enable the auto disable outdated mods option.

dunno about flags in the save file, but it doesn't mark the server as modded and you can (as modded) join other servers with no change to your verified mods

verified mods dont require you to make a modded save. also your save isn't "flagged". it either shows you as using approved mods in the server browser, or for sandbox mods, it asks you to make a new sandbox save based on your main one. it does not flag or overwrite anything
huh. i should really ask what mods my friend was using. He downloaded some mods, tried it out, didn't like it, got rid of them, and then his save was flagged as "modded".

when I joined his game, me and another friend had to make a separate save
he was in sandbox then. if he used sandbox mods, it made a new save. he would just need to swap back to his original save

Im trying to download the 2.2.1 version of display events mod, but its not letting me due to it telling me that mods can only be downloaded in-game. Yet its not letting me download the 2.2.1 version in game.

You can't manually download a mod like that. You have to subscribe to it and the game will download it.
Display Events is broken regardless of what version you use though. I'll take a look at fixing it eventually.

Those are probably approved mods. Approved mods will stop you from getting achievements but will not affect xp or anything.

The most it would "mess" with steamworks is just changing the max players set on server creation

The game, but it is hardcoded and enforced through multiple systems. Devs already told us it is not possible to edit and many of us have tried and data assembled for it without it working.

yw. also the numbered folders correspond to the mod ID. if you're looking for specific mod, just go to it on mod.io and look at the ID to find the right folder fast

all out of date indicates is that the author hasn't changed the version tag
so most work fine, some dont work, and a rare few could crash
you can always gauge things by the comments on the mod page
people tend to comment when it's crashing or nonfunctional

Is it possible to change a sandbox box to main save? i downloaded some mods that changed my save to sandbox and kept playing without realizing that i never changed back to my main save and now i'll lose a ton of progress.
if it's a separate save, no. If it's your main save then disable all mods.

i tried some tools to press shift for me. and it's a bad solution. it appears that even the game itself stops registering shift press after some actions if you keep it pressed all the time

Host only; it's Approved because Goldblade removed certain features that were present in the old versions to get it Approved. If you have questions as to why GSG decided it's Approved, ask them - modders have no say in that.

if the author is doing the right thing, it should be labelled "verified" or "auto-verified" in the tags. The doom music mod isn't labelled as such but it will work as verified because it's just an audio mod

I have a question when it comes to mods. It seems to me that modded sounds have a complete seperate audio.
E.G. when i download mods for different bug sounds or weapon sounds, they arenΒ΄t affected by the audio sound effects option. Is this normal or is it a bug? Because i have my game fairly low volume and it always seems to me that every mod is way to loud in that regard. This time i turned down the sound to 0 just to see if it is that and i noticed that all the modded sounds are completly untouched while everything is quiet.
Modders who do audio mods are supposed to hook them up to the existing sound system properly, but then mod.io has to activate the mod correctly as well. Whether this is an issue with mod.io mod activation or just the modders' oversight, I have no idea. You might want to leave the modder a comment about sound issues, maybe there's something going on.
Interesting, so it can be also mod.ios fault. I thought they are just the distributors and have nothing to do with the mods themselfs. This legit opens up alot of things i can maybe use now if they are fixed.

I just tested it on almost all of my audio mods and i put the sound effect slider to 0 and noticed how almost every mod i tested had this issue. I written a comment under every of the mods as an info. Also, funny enough, the minigun mod i used that it sounds like the Gau-8 that is mounted on the A-10 Warthog which is kinda supposed to be loud. But yeah, remember to check wether this works people.

I'm not sure entirely. You can't do it by simple voiceline replacement, as all dwarves share the same line files. However, theoretically, if you were to edit the shout system to make every dwarf have their own Shout files, directed to their own unique voices/voice lines, you could do it. I've just never tried such a thing.

What's likely to have happened is mods altering certain files were automatically marked as verified ingame. This was likely that at one point. Something with that system may have broken. I don't know.

It's super easy. Go here (https://drg.mod.io/) ,create an account and connect it to steam. Then subscribe to any mods you like. After that go in game to the mod tab and apply.

Using Alt+F4 to quit the game will cause that. You have to close the game properly so that doesn't happen. If you didn't Alt+F4, you should know that the mod system is prone to random hiccups and issues. Just relaunch the game, reenable mods and it should be fine.

there are a few Dreadnought Buff mods that should help make Elimination more difficult and interesting (hopefully).
For the Hiveguard, the Carve Area-Of-Effect version is nice as it encourages the team to kill it quickly or eventually move to a new location
they can also try to repair/smooth out the arena while the fight is ongoing, as well

im not 100% sure so someone would need to confirm this but i think you can just open the DRG folder used by steam (if you've never opened steam game folders before you can browse local files from the steam library) and delete everything inside the mods folder

No. Auto-Verified is Verified for all intents and purposes. There is a pinned message explaining mod categories.
Verified is the only category you can join other players and have the game still be vanilla. Approved/Sandbox disable achievements, Sandbox requires a new save.

I want to see a mod that can automatically kick users who try C-spamming. That's when someone spams the C key to repeatedly call the MULE to their position, hogging it from other players. Not only is this greedy and inconsiderate, but it actually confuses the MULE as they repeatedly try to calculate paths to new points over and over again, holding it in a single area so that it can't reach any Dwarves. Could anyone make a mod like this?

i notice I get gradual frame drops on long missions because of the large collection of spent flares that gather on the map.
is there such a thing as a mod that explicitly hard caps the # of them that can be rendered? i saw it mentioned in a much larger, take-it-or-leave-it performance mod that also removes a lot of other things. and the search engine for mod.io sucks and only checks titles, not descriotions.
there's no mod that i know of that caps them at a certain number. however, the mod you mentioned that removes them altogether exists standalone:

so unfortunate side effect of that one is that it prevents me from knowing what tunnels have been gutted already π¦

yes - you can either download any Verified audio mod that changes music from drg.mod.io, or you can make your own.

Has anyone thought about something like this?:
So modding profiles. Is it possible they are going to be implemented into the game, or is it just not worth it putting in the effort? It would be a life changer for some people out there. I have friends that I like to play with and we usually play with a few approved mods on. When they're done playing, I often start hosting public vanilla lobbies, that anyone can join. Anytime, when someone makes a switch like this, they have to go through their mods one by one and disable all approved mods, and leave on the ones they do want (BetterSpectator and a few cosmetic mods in my case). What if we had like a few modding profiles to switch between? Like one built out for vanilla gameplay and solely cosmetics, one with a few approved mods, to play with friends maybe flashlight range (if you are not playing scout), Star-ship troopers or any big gamechanger huge mod, and then a sandbox one for goofing off, idk. So basically just like you have separate profiles in the equipment terminal, you could have something like that for mods too. I'm not dying over this, but it would be the best QoL change to the game I can think of rn. It's also possible that there already is a mod doing something like this, or I'm just dumb and don't know how to use the modding menu and if that IS the case, please feel free to lecture me, I need it. R&S!
This has been suggested since day 1 of the new modding support system introduction. No word on whether that'll make the devs consider adding it into the game but we can hope.

Is there anyway to reduce the light from the weapons flash when you are firing ? The light produced from some weapons like the minigun is too bright for me, i am running the game on 1080P and all setting are on ultra (i don't mind lowering to get my problem fixed).i don't mind if i can even remove the light but i want to keep the bullet tracers. Thanks in advance.

When using mods that aren't verified, I believe you can't get achievements, but do you still get mission rewards. Also after using non verified mods can a lobby be started with no mods and I can return to doing achievements.?

When you disable approved mods you unlock any achievements that you got when they were enabled.
And yes, rewards and stuff are fine.

Since a patch came out today that means that all mods are going to initially be marked as out of date - just a reminder that this doesn't mean that they're instantly broken or outdated. The modder just hasn't ticked a box on modio yet.
Some mods are bound to break but a majority of mods like audio or model replacements should be fine even if they're marked as out of date for now.

They do. But the default setting is that "outdated" mods are automatically disabled.
You can manually enable all outdated mods and you can even disable that.automatic setting
But if the game hasnt received a new update, then you will never have to check your mods

Also quick suggestion if possible a dps meter would be useful though might not be possible so
Right now the spawn pads block projectiles no matter what I try and they always flip the rotation when thrown.
But other things don't have gravity in the rig and if they do, they crash the game.
Actors don't have gravity, navigation, ability to target in the space rig.
(idk what an actor is sorry)

Yeah, it would be like a horizontal row of 8 or so enemies, you can press buttons in-game to swap the row with new enemies based off of enemy type.

The first two are for making the hordes larger but remaining the same difficulty as vanilla setting, the last one is the ammo I use.
It isn't WH40k, but it feels better and more combat oriented.

I recently got back into the game, and more specifically, using mods, and I've had some weird things happen lately. I generally play on Haz 4, and I've noticed lately that sometimes Haz 4 will list itself as "Bug Hive" rather than "Extreme". This caused massive amounts of enemies to constantly be spawning at all times, ultimately causing me to lose solo games from being overwhelmed. I disabled all mods and reloaded the space rig, and noticed that this setting still persisted, but when I closed the game and opened it again, Haz 4 began displaying as "Extreme" again. Is this the result of a mod I have installed, or does this just naturally occur in-game sometimes?
