Mods Not Installing: A Solution
- Visit https://drg.mod.io in your browser; log in as necessary
- Unsubscribe from all mods (make a list if you want to save them)
- Open DRG and ensure any existing mods have uninstalled
- Repeat steps 1-3 as necessary
- Close DRG
- Delete the folder
C:\Users\Public\mod.io - Delete the folder
C:\users\<username>\AppData\Local\mod.io - Open DRG and resubscribe to mods

Yeah, that unfortunately doesn't apply to my particular situation. Mine just wasn't installing anything entirely. I believe it had something to do with how my account was linked since I already had a mod.io account. The process above seems to address this weird linking issue.
The other day i joined a random mission as driller and had infinite c4 according to the host due to a mod he had, i have a completely vanilla game and dont allow either type of modded server to show in the browser, how was i able to join this server and how can i prevent it from happening again?
that could have been a mod, or that could have been an external program.
there really isn't a good way to avoid the games, since it's not possible for the game to know if someone is cheating like that.
your only real option is to just block those players on steam so you don't see their games again.

TL/DR: UUI is delisted from mod.io, if you still have it installed and have it running with mod hub, the game will crash. Simply uninstall UUI.

Hello I wonder does anybody know if this is possible in an easy manner
I have more than one profile and on one I use no mods and on other I use mods but different mods for each profile so my question (regarding the modded ones) is.
Is it possible to have the saved data from the mods only effect one profile instead of all profiles?
for example move the data file from mod X to another location so the original file will be re generated and then switch out depended on what profile I use or if there is and more easy way to do it I'm open for that as well

Yes for example
Like one of the mods I use have contracts (like assignments) but If I do it on one profile it also counted on my all my other profiles same goes for some death tracker I use as well
its possible but mostly tied to how mod is made
your best bet is to ask mod author or to pinpoint where mod saves data and change it after changing profiles manually
Alright, I know it's located under my save folder where my save is as a subfolder Miracel's mod have it's own sub folder but the rest have a mixed sub folder with all the save data from all the other mods I got.

The Massive Content Revise mod caught me off guard at first.
Imagine. A new mission type, and unholy amounts of new mission modifiers, and scaling cranked up to 100
Had i had a crew to run those, it would be a worthy challenge in my opinion.

Does anybody here use MOTD+Stat Track?
I wonder if I should use /j or /k for joining people. I've tried to use both but it seams if I use /K it adds +1 for each time the game loads into a lobby even when he/she/they haven't left at all between missions but for /j it seams to not work.
Is this behavior just me or ain't I paying enough attention or done something wrong?

There are several reasons why I made shadows disabled by default. The TLDR is the game doesn't use shadows outside of the flare gun, it makes fake shadows for everything already too, so it is practically not noticeable and drastically improves performance.
I see, I might try it out then. Game runs flawlessly on my PC so Iโd never considered dialling anything down
I mean, even on beast computers you'll be getting a lot more FPS with the changes that I added to Mod Hub for performance. Not everything for performance is a toggle, I was aware of shadow related mods so they were a toggle.
You'll be able to have more modded scenarios with better performance. After extensive testing I was getting 80 FPS with 200 enemies in vanilla, 150 FPS with 200 enemies with Mod Hub. You won't even notice a difference outside of performance in the vast majority of cases.
The Mod Hub changes come from my Massive Content Revise Testing mod, which pushes DRG to some absurd limits (without enemy spam) and it still runs better than vanilla, lmao.
On the opposite side of the spectrum with people running on potatoes - I've had users who had on average 20-30 FPS suddenly jump to 60 FPS with the changes.
According to a relatively small sample of results (200 or so iirc) from a poll that I made, the average boosts were around 40 extra FPS.

Helps out streamers too, some were able to stream on the same PC instead of a recording PC after the changes.

i made my own lite version of that mod, it will save which ever difficulty you last used.
doesn't require any mods, has no settings. just picks the most recent picked hazard automatically.
Is it just me or does it seam the swarms are harder vanilla on same Haz when using MCR

Ah btw to your modded gallery question, it's edited via cheat engine to allow engis to place infinite turrets. So I'd say it fits in modded

Some tend to bitch no matter what, you're the host so do as you please. That's what I would do, if they have a problem with it they can just leave or search for another lobby
As long as you're not actually altering their gameplay(style) most seams to not care, from what I've heard here and there
Infinite turrets tends to alter the game quite a bit, though it's a very fun alternative, especially for a first play. There's nothing else edited though, no one would walk away with infinite resources or anything
If other players play engi I notice they spam place em everywhere like in #modded-gallery
then I guess you'll be mostly until there is someone complain about they don't have to re-fill their turrets if there is a 2nd engi

as long as you add modded tag and have motd explaining the modded part then youre cool

When using MCR what weapon for the driller would be the best option (I do not have any OC's yet) hazard 4++ I like both the Cold gun and the sludge pump, can't use the flamethrower get's too bright for me.
without overclocks flamethrower is definitely the strongest though. It does play a bit weird, you gotta shoot flames on the floor and let bugs walk over them for maximum effectiveness. shooting bugs directly is quite bad in comparison. I would build it 23221. If I had to use the cryo cannon without overclocks Id build it 11132. Both of the builds I suggested also lean heavily into their radiance, heat and cold respectively. With flamethrower while you shoot bugs close by get slowly lit and if they are burning take extra damage. with cryo they freeze but dont take damage. with sludge id probably use 12221 but I think it is likely the worst option out of the bunch.
whatever you take on your primary, I can highly recommend taking the Experimental Plasma Charger and its 5th tier upgrade Thin Containment field, if you havent used it yet. With that upgrade, when you hit a charged shot mid air with any other projectile, like a follow up regular shot, it explodes, dealing massive damage in a decently big sphere and also carving terrain including minerals in said sphere, which is really useful to get high up resources as Driller, especially on MCRs bigger and more fucked up layouts. I would recommend learning how to use this tech on minerals, as that is a mostly stress free environment, though it is also a powerhouse in combat. My build would be 21222 without overclocks or Persistent Plasma, which is the best option, or Heavy Hitter or 21122 with Energy Rerouting or Heat Pipe.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I did read both guides, and the steps for each are wildly different from the approach I outlined. The ones you linked talk about DRG specific files within the filesystem, whereas the steps I cover involve mod.io specific files. I hope this helps discern the different approaches more clearly.

50% of the time it works every time - it's probably higher than that, but there are some mods that for some weird reason interfere with it. if you disband or rejoin the rig it will load the value properly. just sometimes doesn't load on first launch.

No, Weapons in Space Rig donโt require a sandbox save
They use your main save but put you in modded tag

just unlocked zhukov and was very disappointed that it has the same problem
unfortunately this mod is no longer updated and causes the minigun heat meter to become invisible on the model, but Weapon Heat Crosshair still works

I made a thing for Mod Hub that allows you to real time toggle non important debris such as grass and vines. It'll retain good visuals for resource veins, Rockpox boils, gems, etc.
The above method will cull everything and make everything look odd. Mod Hub also has major performance boosts that other mods don't do, if you don't have it already.

The stuff that I made for Mod Hub should increase FPS significantly in all kinds of scenarios. I don't mean like 15 extra FPS by removing something or losing fidelity either. It'll retain the same fidelity and gives on average a 40-60 FPS increase.

I have a question. I tried true soloing 6x2 with a burning hell/volatile bullets build. Without the blowthrough on the leadstorm i couldnโt crowd clear at all. In the PDrg server the reccomended build takes stun over BT. Tips?
stun is better on bh regardless of situation since the fire aoe is more cc than blowthrough will ever be and stun is incredible safety, for TS take either t5 venting or t1 cooling for bh vb
So more kiting until heat spread clears them?
bt isnt super important for burning hell since your crowd clear is 99% fire. stun lets you play much more aggressively with your fire aoe
you need a lot of kiting skill in order to stay safe with BH, its not an easy true solo build to start with imo

Hey so, I'm putting out a small request; back when mod support was officially introduced, the mod "swiggity grabbers" was added. I loved it, since I'm a fan of vargskelethor (the streamer whom the voice clip belongs to), but it however was sadly never updated and now crashes the game when installed.
The crash report generates this error message: "Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 220] PakFile was frozen with version FPakInfo::PakFile_Version_FrozenIndex, which is no longer supported. Regenerate Paks."
If anybody could fix the mod, recreate it, or educate me on how to do the work myself, I would be eternally greateful.

Because .exe files can't be run on linux without a compatibility layer. Typically wine. There's some programs like bottles (can be installed as a flatpak) which make running windows software a lot more user friendly. Frankly though it isn't worth the effort most of the time.
there's a linux version of it. so i'm assuming they're using that. you're probably best asking on the github. it def runs on linux, ive seen it.
This is why you need to be specific when making bug reports or asking for help. An .exe is an executable file format used on windows. An .AppImage is a linux version of a self contained application. Similar in end user operation, completely different in troubleshooting.

A report on stackoverflow indicates this may be a packaging issue with ubuntu 22.04, however the steam deck is based on arch with a bunch of stuff custom made by Valve. If libssl1.1 is a requirement for the mod loader, I would encourage the developer of the program to package it in appimage format. It's way easier for the end user and gets away from dependency hell.
I'm not interested in installing an older version of a library on my production machine to test this out. This may be the only issue, there may be others. I don't know and I'm not interested in testing beyond this point.

Yeah I was using the Linux ver, what I meant by "marked as executable" is that next to the file size at the bottom it said "executable". But it was of course not running. The file itself isn't an .appimage or .exe file either it's just named " drg_mod_integration " and nothing else. I launched the .exe from the windows version with proton and it launched but the program didn't seem to work, it was completely unresponsive

Where do I even get started if I want to try modding dwarf cosmetics? I have unreal engine; I want to add the other scout suits to the "scout but he can't move it move it" mod/bring it up to season 4
it's entirely client sided - if just the server has the mod there is no effect on clients, because collision is only positively checked on the server. it's very useful playing in higher ping lobbies where the collision checks are way out of sync.
Are there any QoL mods out there, that tell you when a lobby has a restriction on class duplicates before you try and connect to it?

if you're in Russia (or a close region), the mod io website has been having issues serving to Russian users lately. I think the only work around is a VPN.

afaik it's some sort of steam networking limitation, and if you're using built in mod support there's no workaround
you might be able to join lobbies with >50 mods, but i don't think you can host
mint (external mod loader) bypasses that limit, but has no mod syncing if you join/host modded lobbies and will currently mark servers you host as modded regardless of mods

the first kinds of mods are verified mods. these ones only affect you client side. sound replacements, certain QoL fixes.
Accepted mods affect the gameplay in some way, and require the people joining to accept the modded server. It does not affect game progression.
Sandbox mods are more drastic in their gameplay affection (i,e. grants items and xp)

as a word of caution, for drastic sandbox saves you need to create a new save file because of how it affects level progression
last i checked, approved mods won't cause any major griefing
There are several Verified-tier mods that can improve performance for a variety of biomes.
Verified mods are the safest ones because they are 100% vanilla gameplay and progression compatible. And they typically only apply to you, the person with them installed (hence client-side).
Approved mods alter things for both you and others, typically, and only somewhat alter the vanilla gameplay and progression depending on what they modify.
Sandbox mods are the wild west of mods where you can do all sorts of ridiculous stuff with gameplay and progression.
If you want to stay true to vanilla though, check Mod.io for things tagged with verified and/or auto-verified
Verified mods are typically for visuals and sounds that apply only to you. Nearly all performance mods are Verified status.
Also keep in mind that using Approved and/or Sandbox mods WILL alter your save file and make it no longer vanilla. So definitely make a backup if you intend to use any mods not marked as Verified.
one of my favorite verified mods is one that shows where platforms will go and what it'll look like. As a part time engi main things like those really help with placement
a multitude of QoL mods exist within the verified section
and since a lot of the โfunnyโ mods are sounds or gui changes theyโll be in that section
Also with the vanilla Mod.io integration, you can only have a total of 50 mods active at one time if you are hosting a multiplayer session.
You can join a session and still have over 50 mods active, but you will cap out at 50 when hosting.
You can see your current activated mod amount /50 in the top right of the Esc mod menu.
Here is my example, I personally try to keep at most 50 mods activated at any time.

It depends on the mod IIRC, some do and some don't. But I'm not too knowledgable on Approved/Sandbox mods, only Verified.

You can always check on the homepage of each mod. I think it's typically stated somewhere in there.

Also, if you see any mods marked with this:
They will normally force themselves off every time you exit and relaunch the game, or edit your active modlist.
But you can force them to stay on if you uncheck this box in the top left:

It typically causes no problems to uncheck that box and allow them to stay on, depending on what the mods change.
For example I have a total of five mods that are marked as "not updated" but they all work perfectly fine anyways, because they're just visual things.
Those five mods are:
- Better Downed Icon
- Display Silicate Harvester's HP
- Display Stabber Vines' HP
- Doom Positioned Weapons
- Dude, where's my mule?
