I could be wrong but I would assume the "professionals" have more important matters to tend to than answering questions easily answered with a little research/effort of the person asking instead of trying to be spoon fed.

I have a lot of mods saved that I got from joining others servers. Since I didn't subscribe to them on modio myself but from joining others I can't delete them and if I do they always just reinstall themselves. I was wondering how to get rid of them when I'm already not subscribed to them.

Not particularly. Mosy sound mods are for memes/something goofy. Thr closest youd probably get is the metal gear "!" noise one
Is there any issue with keeping trash files in my mod? for example, if I have had particle files in my mod and new update removed that particle but the modified version still exists in my mod, will that cause no problem whatsoever or it will cause performance drop?

hello, is here a mod which shows at the endof the mission how much damage the diff dwarfs have dealt, there is a mod which shows the damage delt but it doesnt add them together and displays it

i wouldn't bother pushing an update that only removed an asset that is no longer in the game, but in general i would advise not leaving unnecessary files in the pak. they won't impact runtime performance when not loaded, but it does increase file size and there is always a chance it causes a problem down the road if some other asset gets added with the same name

Hey umm, I hope Im not bothering someone but can someone send me an empty static mesh? Been scratching my head on how to make a totally empty (not invisible) static mesh file, like the remove flares mod does it, it has a static mesh file of single 1 MB size
And if I replace projectiles with an empty static mesh is there gonna be problems with how interactions work? Much thanks
I dunno if it's the best solution but you could make a very simple and very small plane in Blender and import that. That's what I did for Clutter Be Gone (or just changed the material to an invisible one)
Some models get their collision from the model itself and others have separate collision meshes so I think it would depend on what you're replacing.

It isn't necessarily. Auto verified just means that the game will check what files the mod touches and will allow it to be marked as verified if it passes the auto check.
For example, audio replacement mods are allowed through the filter and will be marked as verified in the game. Just because a mod has the tag doesn't mean it will be verified.

I have no idea whats wrong with my version of DRG I can't even download any mods and I have been trying so many things right down to reinstalling the game lol
I was able to at one point and time install mods from mod.io and then suddenly it became nearly impossible to get a mod to actually download after subscribing to it or it even appearing on the list
I've subbed to Voice line frame work and its never shown up or downloaded after subbing, restarting, verifying files, switching versions. I've tried a lot of things
someone suggested deleting the mods folder awhile back but that did nothing
I have been stumped for months on what to do if anyone else has any suggestions on what I could try at this point I'll try anything I haven't done.

Regarding the VR mod, I followed every instruction on how to install, followed every step properly.
I could launch into DRG via Virtual Desktop fine and it works on my headset, I can see the game in VR in the space rig and I could see my floating hands... But my controller thumbsticks couldn't move the character at all.
I am using Pico 4 + Virtual Desktop + SteamVR

There are multiple performance mods, most make things look worse though and don't fix the underlying issues. Massive Content Revise is different than others as it is a content based mod but keeps everything looking the same but fixes the underlying issues which can boast massive performance gains. It personally doubled my stable performance, but, again, it does a lot of other things so it's not intended to be only for performance.
Other ones are remove all particles, clutter be gone, visual removal package, etc.

Sandbox mods put you in an entirely seperate save automatically

verified doesn't affect gameplay, always client side - usually audio/visuals
approved changes gameplay, marks your game as modded, meaning people will need to opt in to see it in the list, and will apply to all players in the lobby - this is balance changes, swarm size changes etc
sandbox requires a separate save file (a duplicate of your normal one gets made when you enable one) since these usually majorly impact progression, so you don't need to worry about accidentally getting stuck after unlocking every overclock in the game
also there is a limit to the number of your mods (it's 50)
after that people can only join your game through friend invites

It should be added, all players don't necessarily need the mod for approved / sandbox mods unless it's got the RequiredByAll.
If the mod has Optional instead, other players don't necessarily need it, IIRC.

Cant seem to make drg's modding tab to work, if i dont delete the mod.io folder before i launch it refuses to give the 'accept tou or dont mod' and when it does, the mods will start installing, get like 1kb in, and delete itself, refusing to let another mod install
if i just delete the mod.io folder without unsubbing from the mods, the mods will pop up in a list all red and saying 'ERROR package is invalid'
this is the most i've gotten a mod to install, and the nanosecond i switch off the modding tab it deletes itself then i have to delete my mod.io account because it will claim it is installed and i cant get rid of it

i want to preface that I havent really messed around with mods that just rework weapons, which is why i didnt include any. youre best off just scrolling through mod.io with the approved filter on to find/try those
if youre looking for a lot of changes, reforged or mcr are the way to go. both add new enemies and mission type(s). reforged rebalances weapons (some overclocks are replaced) and includes difficulty up to haz 10. mcr has scaling mission objectives (i.e. 40 aquarks) and adds changes to cave gen.

If those are too big of changes to start with, theres a standalone mod for mcr's mutators. miracles mutators also adds a good handful of mutators.

If youre willing to do some work, custom difficulty is nice if you want some specific things out of the hazard setting (i.e. goo bomber hell - only goo bombers, including the unused fire bomber).

approved and sandbox mods will mark your game as MODDED in the server browser and hide it under the "show modded" tab which is disabled by default, as well as disable achievements. sandbox mods will create a seperate sandbox save file, whereas approved and verified will not

im trying to install the colors of hoxxes mod but in the description it says must be installed atop the shipping executable, does anyone know what that means
if you havent already, try lowering the resolution scaling. otherwise, mods that remove/decrease particles, decals, ragdolls, and flares can help a bit. keep in mind that enabling mods can cause a performance hit on its own.
since you mention stuttering, i also recommend checking your cpu usage/temps to make sure nothing is wrong there

alternatively it may also help to unsubscribe from the mod, wait for the game to notice, then let it apply the changes. After that, resubscribe and install fresh.
You can just go remove mod's folder on your disk, it will redownload it.

Not done a lot of modding for DRG, but there is one mod I will never go without, even if it hasn't been updated to account for the Randoweisser: "Bring Back Best Wurst Beer". I'll turn it off every now and again to join others, but I like having more drink menu options. Shame it's not verified, though. Just approved.

Yes, you can get sucked down the deep dark spiral of needing more and more mods until your game no longer looks recognizable.
Other than what that guy responded with, not really. Clientside mods are safe to use in online play. Just don't grab too many.

Path tracing plugins for reshade already exist. I did a comparison a few years ago in #drg-gallery. Itβs not worth it.

There's a difficulty using the Custom Difficulty mod called Oops All Bulks that will spawn only bulks. If you just want more bulks with normal spawns, then Swarm Control might be your best bet I think?

Corruptor not loading is likely a bug that shouldnt be happening, things generating where they shouldnt be might be intended?
glyphids in-game while using the mod also stop moving and stayed in its place during a decontamination mission so I thought it was a glitch

i know the mod creator of MCR speaks in this channel semi-frequently i just dont remember exactly who it is
It seems that they are referring to the actual movement of enemies. I have not quite figured it out myself as it is rather infrequent but I think that there is a limit for active enemies but my mod does not un-cap the enemy counts which may result in this odd behavior. Decontamination has enemies spawn that I do not want to spawn but I cannot do much about it as it is built into contagion spikes.

I tell myself that if I spawn a gold detonator in a game via the Twitch integration, it will count the gold that I would have recovered and therefore have money easily where is it from the moment I have a mod no progress is counted?

Kinda, but as Bane said they fixed it so its not that bad now, you still get some performance from disabling modding but not as much as before

In theory if you install stuff like no decals, mesh removal, low poly enemies, no particles, no flares, etc - you will get considerable enough fps boost
Also just downsize resolution
To smth like 1280 x 720 if you use 1920 x 1080
Also fps cap at 40 if your main issue is overheat
Basically modding system was very laggy even with no mods
And just disabling it gave +20 fps on average

i have discovered that drg has entity cramming to some capacity when there are around 2000 active enemies in one tiny cave
i'm pushing swarm control to it's limits and my PC aswell
interestingly enough, with enough optimization, my PC isnt stressed at all
the game itself simply cant handle how many enemies there are
i set the spawn modifiers to maximum everywhere, cranked the spawn cap up to maximum, and included every existing enemy into the spawn pool

i fallow the guide, click manage mods and subscirbe to the mods i want from the overlay. but when i close it or restart the game. they dont download or show up in my modlist but when i look it mod.io it says that im subscribed. how can i fix that?
This is an odd question: I have a neurological condition where sometimes my vision partially goes out. Essentially imagine bright white steaks across your vision. It makes it extremely hard to play, especially with the game being so dark. Anyone have any recommendations for mods that turn up the brightness a bit? I still want to be able to play during my vision flare up episodes

Had a potential bug with the mod named Swarm Control (aka swarm size control) where i had it disabled(alongside some other mods) started a lobby for haz 5 and went about it like normal except the lobby still played like it wa modded though my escape menu and my name had no modded signatures to it whatsoever. No one in the lobby had any mods(to my knowledge anyways) Im asuming its a bug with the mod as i retried what i did originally to get it to do it the first time and haven't had it happen since. Thought id post it somewhere, though i doubt it is of any real concern.

Yea, i tried a few but none of them got rid of those particles. Mostly just weapons effects/bug effects.
Also, what hardware are you running? I had a guy in my haz1x128 lobby, ~700 bugs max, and he was running an A6000 and he was above 150 FPS the whole mission, but's that's like, a 5k$ gpu.

No, it is dumb and it counts verified mods despite them not being relevant for clients.
Only way to bypass it is to compile the mods into bundles as you can have a 1 GB mod be sent with no issue but 50 1 KB mods is a no go . .

More than likely, if it still shows as sandbox, it's probably altering files that are not supposed to be altered, and thus auto-verify checks, sees discrepancies, and has a fit

You can cook with them and delete soundclass folder before putting cooked files for packing
or just cook the iron will folder alone by whitelisting it in uee settings

cooked files are the result of cooking them during the packaging process, aka getting them ready to be used in a game or in a pak file
files shipped in drg pak are all cooked and cooked assets cannot be opened or edited by ue as you need the source

idk if this is the right channel. every time I launch the game all my mods start verifying and all of them get reenabled no matter what I do. I am trying to play with just my standard list of verified mods. this was not happening until yesterday.

are you trying to download the files? you can't do that manually anymore
just subscribe and it'll download automatically when you log into the game

well the mods are downloaded into C:\Users\Public\mod.io\2475\mods
and the id of drglib is 1034237 i think

Changing leech sounds to literally anything else is honestly a nice qol. Some of them are very loud so youll be a cave over and hear it kick off ao you know theres a leech

Unfortunately no, there are no good enough ways to launch mods locally
If thats why you want different loader i assume

like 10x client based mod hosting apps, just asking which one is the best of those
You can load pak locally but it'll be sandboxed.
As for an app to manage that, not that I know of.
if youre talking about a way to bypass the modded filter on your lobby, yeah thats generally frowned upon. cant stop you from doing it, but youre unlikely to get an answer here
otherwise, theres no other way that wont sandbox you
