hey whats with the negative credits for the barley bulb side objective?
Because it is something that the devs don't want to be free, but I changed it to 0 credits or less negative but I needed to revert builds.
Can't do any updates because of a lot of changes for the mod are underway and not ready.

Like in the modding tab in the settings? I believe it only shows the images, not the videos in game, you'd have to go to the modio page in a browser for that.

Gotcha, the steam browser sucks sometimes, can try using your normal browser instead.

The steam overlay is very buggy. It constantly has problems being clickable or not, or sometimes even appearing, especially if I touch the browser

It is kind of debatable. The 3D map is really really good and I don't see how a mini map is going to be anymore then screen clutter.
Won't it be a mess? You would still have to make it bigger to get any use out of it and what would the angle or view point be? If it was flat and straight down would often have the above caves obscuring your view.
It seems like no matter what you are going to have to stop and mess with it.

I think you could use the Advanced Darkness mod to get the effect you're looking for, but it'd affect the caves as well.

Just left a heavily modded game. Had like huge mining radius, instant revive, resupply and deposit. There was also like a billion gold as well. Shit's whack yo. The game did not show mods on the server list. Now i've got cheated money and xp. Is there a way to reverse this?
That sounds more like someone was cheating rather than using mods

No mods for that. Steam enforces the 4 player limit. There's a 5 player bug but no one has been able to replicate its effects so far

I am having some trouble with some mods that I cannot properly uninstall
Because I can't unsubscribe to them on mod.io because they don't seem to exist there anymore.
So no matter what I do, even if I delete them from my mod.io folder manually, they just reinstall
I can keep them disabled, but if the game enables them for whatever reason it will crash my game and force all my other mods to redownload on my next start.
How do I get rid of them?

This one is out of date.
Ihave the cheaper resupply drops but I don't like ending up with 15+ supply pods all over. Plus with all the extra healing that provides, it takes away the fear of death a bit. I love the combat of the game so I need the extra ammo to kill the extra bugs I added.

noob question, why are some lobbies not listed as using mods when they're modded?
i install 1 QoL and i disappear from the server browser but there are lobbies with double enemies or those obnoxious text prompts that spam the chat telling you how to play to game

Ah, probably exploiting the fact that some assets do not reload back to vanilla and some things like the text prompts are verified (unlisted) due to only affecting the chat.
so it's essentially working around the system in terms of implementation

If ya wanna look around the files yourself, there's a tool called Umodel that will let you extract and dig around the game's files. There's guides and a download for it listed in the modding server (linked in #fan-communities )

Any mods that increase visibility on Glyphids/enemies in general? My eyes aren't the best, so they're a bit hard to see (y'know, unless they've got a big-ol green glowing "shoot me" spot).
There are quite a few mods that make the flashlight stronger
Funnily enough the googly eyes mod makes it way easier to see the bugs in the dark if you make them glow

you can only play with people on the experimental version if you yourself are on the experimental version

experimental is a preview of want the devs want to add into the game, its basically a beta version the people can bug test and give feedback on before the experimental version becomes the main version

approved mods only disable achievements while they are currently enabled
you can disable them and start getting achievements again

When it comes to hosting a modded game, are there any big does and don'ts? I noticed there is a difference between Verified and Approved -- and I would be interested in hosting a mixture. Do people use my settings, or their own?
Check the pins for an explanation of how verified/approved mods work.
Generally, verified affect you, approved affect everyone.

When someone joins your server, it already lists what approved mods you are using. Verified mods don't matter since they're clientside.

just a small thing I thought I'd say - when using something like swarm size controller etc, it can be good to say what options you're running with since just seeing the mod is installed doesn't really help show what the game will be like cos it's so customisable (high swarms low health, bulk swarm, low swarms high health etc)

This has probably been asked before but is there a mod to indicate a resupply pod counter in the team mineral breakdown when you pull up the scanner to ping things (pops up at the top right of the screen)? I've seen it in some presumably modded games.

bosco explodes when the player character is destroyed for some reason, and that happens when you change loadout or class

Mods can be subscribed to on the modio website (which you can access from that screen normally or just go to your web browser)
Mods will be downloaded automatically in game and then can be enabled/disabled when you're in the Spacerig alone

I've started using the utility sandbox mod for testing, but it is a little frustrating when normal spawns show up. Is there a method / mod to prevent normal spawns while still allowing forced spawns?

Get 3 dreads. Last egg you pop will be evolved one, so now you plan ahead which dread you want to do last by looking at the egg models to tell whats gonna pop up.
Is the squeaky hammer mod model not working for anyone else? The sounds still work, but the hammer is the same as the original.
Correct. There's an issue with the modio implementation where some assets aren't replaced when loaded through modio. Nothing I can do on my end, and I've reported the issue.

Sounds cool but I think if you like start mission in big long Cave and mission control tells you you have about 5 or less min to mine nitra explorer cave and maybe like prepare some special something pods and then big dreadnought boss will arive and you trough that whole cave and fight it(it would be just one big long boss fight with multiple stages) or something like that.
I haven't played in a year and a half, so I'm sure it's a deprecated mod causing this, but I'm getting the Line 220 "Regenerate Paks" error. Reinstalled, didn't help. Unsubscribed from all mods on mod.io, hasn't helped. I don't know where the mods are installed on my computer to get rid of them.
I tried running with -disablemodding, didn't help. It still crashes as soon as I hit "play" on Steam.

Yes, I tried all listed steps, including verifying integrity, deleting FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe, and entirely reinstalling the game.
My drivers are up to date, and I don't have a potato.
check if there are old mods left in the FSD/Content/Paks directory
only thing there should be FSD-WindowsNoEditor.pak
That's where the bugger was hiding. Cleared that directory, just gonna reacquire it from verifying.

I had found pak files in another folder which I deleted, so skipped over the directory. My bad.
Alright, I am 5 hrs into troubleshooting modding. "You must agree to the terms of use to gain access" is all i see when I go to the modding tab in game. I have completely deleted my Mod.io account and created a fresh one, logged in with steam, etc. no mater what I do, I can't get to the modding menu in game.

Because it has negligible impact on progression or the feel of the base game. After a certain point they are either thrown into the sandbox or required to be used with difficulty increasing mods.

Major updates always break mods so just wait for the mod authors to update their mods 
It would be fine if toggle sprint would work like it should in drg but it always sets it back to walking

specifically the auto sprint mod, I'm not sure, it has a decent bit of logic in it to deal with some sprinting edge cases and I dunno how much needs to be updated ... other mods, it depends on what you want to create for how long it takes to make. I've made some model replacement mods in 15 minutes compared to hours/days playing with Blueprints.

Just because a mod is marked as outdated doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work. More or less just means that the creator hasn't ticked a checkbox on modio yet. Obviously use at your own risk because some may cause you to crash but from my experience, audio mods should be fine.
Just gotta untick the disable outdated mods setting and test to see if your favorite mods work.

I can't seem to get modio to work. It just sits there forever doing nothing, no matter what I do with subscriptions. Tried deleting local data, and all that did was make it sit there forever on fetching the the modio terms of service. It was working fine yesterday before the season dropped
I found the problem. It was TLS 1.2 on win7, but in an unexpected way - I already had the update mentioned in the pins, but for some weird reason it wasn't properly enabled, and required some registry editing to fix. (Specifically, I used Microsoft's "Quick Fix" tool at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-winhttp-in-windows-c4bd73d2-31d7-761e-0178-11268bb10392#bkmk_easy )

No, we tried different mods, none work, even though they are updated for current version.
It seems to me that it is the problem of the multiplayer system that does not allow to activate the mods to play with friends (only playing with the mods works perfectly, but in multiplayer it does not work) because

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it MIGHT be that some mods, that do work fine for 1.37, this current update, are still coded for 1.36, and thus create issues when it comes to multipalyer

We tried (me and my friend) to join on other ppl's game, even with some of the same mods, and it works, we can join. But when I try to join his game or vice versa, the Join button is not available like in the screenshot above.

All mods were loading correctly
Each one us us tried to host, we could perfectly join each other, but as soon as the host enabled ONE mod the button is greyed out
me and a buddy found a work around, we both uninstalled all our mods, then one guy reinstalled and hosted, then the other downloaded the mods during the join screen

No, auto disable would simply turn the mods off but they were straight uninstalled from my game, though after a couple game restarts they downloaded themselves back

I urge you guys to manage mods via actual browser and via steam overflow/steam browser. The experience is much better. The browser is much faster and more responsive. And the changes you do there are reflected immediately in-game. steam browser is probably trash

I've just been trying to figure out if it's a problem with my mods or my laptop in particular because my friend isn't crashing but I am
he just gets kicked every time

so I had a mod idea, and I can't seem to find an existing mod that does this
the idea is, allow the user to choose their loadout slot for each item separately
i.e. you could use a primary from slot A, a secondary from slot B, armor/pickaxe from slot C, etc.
the reasoning being that it would allow you a lot more freedom to try various weapon build combinations than is currently possible
like, if I want to run two different GK2 builds/overclocks, but want to use both with Special Powder, I have to devote two separate boomstick builds in two different slots to Special Powder, which limits the number of possible builds/combinations I can use
this mod would fix that - you could just have each overclock/build for a given weapon on a separate slot, and then mix and match freely
is there a mod that exists which does this? and if not, how would I go about making that mod myself? (I think I'd like to take a crack at it - I have lots of coding experience, though none with modding specifically)

Are achievements permanantly disabled on my main save if I have ever have ever had an approved mod active on my main save?

approved mods only block achievements while enabled. You can disable them and get all achievements as normal

The C++ doesn't actually do anything. They're just stubs that are reconstructed from the game itself so the Unreal Engine editor knows what functions are available to be called by mods. It's an API of sorts

To more directly answer your question: I'm not aware of blueprints being intentionally designed to be sandboxed like JavaScript in a web browser. However, after using them quite extensively, I haven't found any obvious holes that can be used to do anything particularly malicious to the user's system. It is possible to send web requests as well as read specific types of files (audio, among others) from any file path, but those are all I've seen.

doing this they are able to join my game but the mods they have dont work and mine does
weird, it works for me. Maybe they need to check their mods individually too

Mods broke again after the patch that went live in the past hour. CTD upon launch if mods are enabled, not sure which one. I think they should all have a warning sign again if they aren't updated to the latest patch, like the warning sign for mods that haven't been updated for Season 3.
Update: can confirm that Ammo Resupply Indicator, Better Downed Icon, Better Explosion Range Indicator, Class Icons Default, Closer Promotion Terminal (Updated), Frozen Impact Particles FPS Fix and Rancor's Rig HUD are fine.

How easy/hard would it be to replace Mission Control's voice lines?
Audio replacements are fairly easy. With that being said, mission control has a lot of voice lines, so depending on how many you want to change, it'd be quite time consuming.

modders haven't been able to consistently replicate the bug to get more than 4 dwarves in a mission, seems to be a restriction on the steam side of things.
I've been playing modded for a while, across several updates, and i'm wondering: Is there a proper reason why exception handling is non-existent and error reporting to the user is so opaque?
After every update it's like trying to walk across a minefield when playing with multiple mods, Trying to load a modlist with one unsupported mod? Hard game crash with nothing point to which mod or even what the mod tried to modify. A message saying simply "something went wrong" is about equally helpful in figuring out what mod that is not marked as outdated does in fact need to be updated
Sometimes you can get a little bit more info if you open up the physical logs rather than just taking what the Unreal error popup says. But yeah, the error message is not very useful in most cases when playing modded.
anybody know if today's patch fixed the multiplayer modded issues people were having?

my programming teacher didn't let me get away with this kind of error handling and reporting
you loaded mods, your fault 
this is in sharp contrast to other games that support modding. I'm not blaming the game for crashing, but for it's awful communication in regards to the crash
Take for example kerbal space program, you can always find the exact operation from the exact mod that caused the crash in the logs
ah, it was before the nexus mod stuff I'll try to see if I still have it but yeah it worked like 1/4 of the time
please don't respond further if you have no meaningful contribution other than blaming me for using mods. I am talking purely about the lack of clarity in the logs and not the fact the game crashes in certain cases as that's expected with mods

i know access violation isn't the best example since it's vague by nature, but there's no useful stack trace at all. And in the case of pakfile version errors there is not even a numerical mod ID nor is there a file path (with mod id in the folder name)
So it gets a bit complicated because what most mods do is actually replace vanilla assets so the game is crashing from it's own internal logic.
Mods that have their own logic will usually display useful info that identifies the mod if the creator named it aptly.
i figured that much, but there's no clue even as to what part of the game crashes. In this case a music mod doesn't even clue me in to that it is to do with a soundmanager class or anything like that. And even a list of mods that could have potentially modified the section that produced the exception would be an improvement
The game tries to identify it if you look in the mod list after crashing, usually has a red exclamation mark.
I have one good thing to say though, if you apply 5 mods and it doesn't crash, and you then apply 5 more that do cause a crash, the earlier 5 will still be applied when you start the game again. That is a really nice feature that has saved me a lot of time
Afaik only the devs have the tools to read further into the crashes from what they have told me.
debug symbols exist to make sense of crash reports, but they don't make them public

Hello, I have a problem. I can't accept the conditions for installing mods
In the mods tab, they offer to accept some conditions, and there is an eternal download
half a year later, logging into modding account in steam overlay sstill does nothing. I have mods im not subbed to, that i got from joining someone before, and subbed mods dont appear
activating anything crashes the game
trying to join modded game for 1st time makes it load used mods forever, if cancelled and attempt to join again, it crashes the game
should i keep logging in and out over and over again to zap this thing to life?

Swarm Size Control and Custom Difficulty both let you increase bug spawns
if you have verified mods, yes, you can. host doesn't need to have any mods. if you have approved mods, you can use those only if the host also has the same mods iirc

Imagine meeting up with the driller, only to see that he's flossing on top of his c-4
Or, you enter a dark cave and just see the scout throwing it back on top of one of the cave corals, only to get leeched
there should be a mod that makes scouts boomstick have as much ammo and clip as minigun, fire as fast as minigun and fire individual fat boys instead of pellets 
Why stop there? Fat boy minigun. Or even better, fat boy autocannon
you do know what i'm suggesting right? turn scouts boomstick into the minigun without overheat and fire the same number of fat boys as it normally does pellets

nono, scout's grappling pulls you towards the explosion at the same speed fat boys fly if not then faster

all work for multiplayer except for locally installed ones
