It is, there is an xp multiplier linked to hazard. Haz 5 is +133% iirc, haz 1 is way less (+33 or maybe 0 idk). Cave complexity, mission length and warnings also add to that.
The double xp just doubles the total you got after all these modifications.

But it also depends on the warnings length complexity mission type kills and amount of stuff mined.

As such, another detail of the morkite wells is that they always have a snapping point for pipelines, whether the pumpjack is called in or not. They also show up on the terrain scanner once seen, with the pumpjack merging into that visual

The mission was simple- or it was supposed to be.
Mission Control sent us on a pest control mission. A simple problem. Kill 2 Dreadnoughts, find a few fossils… easy. In and out.
The first Dreadnought was easy, we found all 10 fossils and killed it easily within 20 minutes. We were having a great time.

And then, came the second. As we opened the beating cocoon, out came a Glyphid Dreadnought. “Easy”, we thought. We called in our last supply pod with what little nitra we had left and started fighting.
But what we had wasn’t enough. One by one, we started to run out of ammo. And one by one we started falling.
DESPERATELY, we started running around the cave, looking through every inch and crevice, areas where the gods of this universe haven't looked since the dawn of creation.. But we were One. Nitra. Short. We Never found the last Nitra we needed for Mission Control to send us our bullets. So we fought with the only thing we had left:
Our pickaxes. A dwarfs trusty tool- something you could rely on no matter what.

We spent the next 2 hours bludgeoning the dreadnought, trying to whittle it down with our axes and our dozen rounds of secondary ammo. We almost died once, saved by Iron Will. We got it to a fraction of its health, a few good shots in and we could have one.
In the end we may have lost, but among these men we had teamwork, perseverance, sheer fucking will matched only by few. Kyubism, Phantom Maximus, and Applesauce: While we may have died, it was an honor to die beside you. Leave no dwarf behind, even in death.
