Rounds punch like hammers from your twin barrels as your companion drone begins sputtering rounds from two small caliber machine guns, peppering the weaker bugs. Steevie, your companion and only friendly non-dwarf in existence, tackles one as it lands on the ground, getting too close for comfort and eagerly met with claw and tooth. A Praetorian stomps it's way from the tunnel, crushing holes for it's claws. You turn and sprint, dropping the mostly empty ammo drum, slotting in the new one without stopping. The screeching, the puttering guns, the howling, frostbitten breath of the Praetorian freezing your back. Your senses are overwhelmed, half of them frozen as you turn and resume fire with a more comfortable distance. Natural ice bombs detonate with grazing shells, slowing some of them down. Green blood stains the ice in untold gallons. The caves quiet. The noise has left your ears ringing. But in the dreary silence, you can just make out mission control in your ear piece. It's time to go. "Swarm!"

I think what Tater means is that I also spend 5-10h posing and cleaning the 3d model, 8-12h manually putting supports on it on the software for 3d printing, then a few hours sanding support marks and filling holes before even starting the painting process

One of the reasons I love DRG is the look and feel of the technology - marvelous industrial 70s/80s mainframes and elegant "dumb" terminals. I collect old tech (and dead media, I have about 10K floppy disks at any given time), so this build was a pleasure.

This is a first draft: ultimately I want the screens to be "real", with the right wobble and jitter. Spray paint the equipment with the right colors, but make sure it still looks "dirty". I've got some dead keyboards destined to have blank orange keys and yellow cases. FOR KARL! ⌨️ ⛏️ ⚙️

One of my defining rules, at least, is that this is a heavy industrial sci-fi universe, which puts a certain cap on basically how advanced our technology can be. Sure, we're faffing about in space with rockets and hologram projectors and everything, but it's the kind of technology that you fix by kicking it - you don't fix it by tweaking the flux capacitor in it. It's clunky and old technology covered in engine grease and gunpowder.

Lasers are absolutely not off the table, but if there'll be a laser, it won't be a Star-Trek-style phaser at all, it'll be some big clunky power tool thing with a big battery pack, and it might explode in your hands because it's been badly maintained. That kind of thing.

Guys, don't take this personally, but I'm pretty bored of people asking if it shoots.
This project started about a year ago, it took me months of work, every step is really labour intensive and require a lot of skills and thoroughness.

To celebrate the new Update, I thought I'd share the biggest and most demanding song yet! This is a huge 3-part bossfight song which took me like a month to finish and I have nothing but pride for it. Rock and stone everyone, hope you enjoy

The idea behind this one was trying to figure out what a massive 3-phase bossfight with a Glyphid Hivequeen could feel like. Hence why it's so long and took more work than any other song yet it's basically three different songs in one! I could easily chop this up into three swarm songs... Yo lads, a while ago I'd tried my hand at a remix-sorta thing by adding some instruments to this banger, published by Mat Zenk on Youtube. Clip Paint is considerably the best quality supposedly so you’re doing fine

I’m stuck with FireAlpaca because it’s correction tool is the only one that works for me (motor skills broken, I have shakey hands)

A rough concept of mactera dragonfly, at most aspects it's a mactera that has melee attacks and instead of spitting goo it's shoots out a jaw that can grab you, simillar to the leech that can move

I wonder if we ever get a mactera dreadnaught
