honestly i wouldnt worry about that as long as the game runs unless change log info screen messes up the game, the devs will put that on list of bugs to fix as low priority

the devs list goes like this from bottom to top, elve in gears, dwarf drunk, and major of all is Karl was found and thats game crashing bugs

that list i made up but it really goes low priority all the way up to game breaking and game breaking bugs get fixed first

that so far of what you wrote seems like a low priority bug unless its breaks/crashes your game

now this is in the middle of the list for fixes and not major because i can alt tab to fix it

Kinda if they didn’t add the respawn button in the menu and know how to move a dwarf correctly onto the pillars of the spacerig. Doing the bug make it an infinite death loop if done correctly without moving dwarf in death loop

95% of spacerig has a collision box except the higher up you go

You can just hold a direction and you'll move slowly while in the death loop until you land on solid ground again

Not exactly a difficult thing to break out of. And if you really couldn't, closing your lobby and making a new spacerig takes like 10-15 seconds

I can't say I've tested them side by side to see if there's any difference in network performance, but I haven't noticed a difference. Anyway, DRG uses peer-to-peer networking instead of servers, so ping is related to whomever is the host, their geographic proximity to you, and their internet connection. I'm sure you can find terrible matches on Steam and amazing matches on Windows, and vice-versa

I wouldn't begin to speculate why you lag when playing solo. I can only say that I personally haven't experienced lag when playing solo, and while only a few years old and still quite decent my PC isn't close a monster.

I do have plenty of RAM though, and I typically don't have much running in the background when playing games. Those two things would be the first things I would look at when experiencing unexpected performance issues when playing solo

But when playing solo I would not expect to encounter any network issues. It's possible that the Xbox is trying to update another game in the background or something, and that is reducing performance since Xbox One still uses an HDD if I remember correctly. That could affect performance

kind of off topic, but any tips on preventing computer overheating? i would like to play on higher graphical settings to really enjoy the amazing work the team did with the graphics, but whenever i up the settings my computer overheats; i’ve had some problems with the computer shutting off after playing for hours too, and so i think overheating is the culprit there.

The heat sink can accumulate quite a lot of dust, and that significantly affects its ability to transfer heat away from the CPU

What Temps to expect depends on your hardware, but in general 60 Celsius - 70 Celsius is pretty good under load. Anything under 85 C should be good. In general

I did a reinstall the other night (to see if it would fix Dawn of the Dread cosmetics not working) and after playing for a few hours, loaded up the game again and got hit with 'Online communication restricted' did my own fix I reccomend to, and helped people with in the past, but it's not cutting it. Yep, tried reinstalling it separately, then the whole game, then the whole game on the internal disk instead of portable hard drive and nothing. I can equip the helmet on those classes and the full armor set works for Scout and Gunner but it just won't equip for Engi and Driller

Right, but I wouldn't try to get someone to drink a beer that wouldn't be useful. I wouldn't have even bought it in the first place. No point in Dark Morkite if you ain't minin' Morkite, and no point in Rocky Mountain if you're going to Sandblasted, and Backbreaker doesn't make enough of a difference to bother with it

Beers aren't ever necessary (except that one Deep Dive a while back that didn't have enough Morkite), but they give a positive, if sometimes inconsequential, effect with no negative effects, so there's no reason not to drink one (unless I suppose some personal reason against even virtual drinking)

Only thing I can think of beside not liking the fun beers, is the people don't know how to sober up and are afraid of going into a mission drunk again, and they don't realize that drinking one daily special won't cause that

the lobby was celebrating before an EDD, but because i teleported outside the station when I re teleported back i landed in an area that caused me to freeze

so they booted me and sent me an invite back

but in the booting process it auto banned me from that group

Maybe. But most likely all they had to do was exit and relaunch the game and then invite you again. As for getting stuck somewhere in the space rig, there's a reapawn button on the pause screen. Also, you can start a mission without everyone in the drop pod, and it'll load everyone in just fine, so there was no reason to kick you

It's a pretty widespread issue at this point tbh, the fix is to reinstall the game, if it presists, uninstall - restart - reinstall. But it keeps happening to people, myself and a few friends included

The Restore Save is the only thing that worked for me. For me, it was failing to connect to Cloud Saves, and it wouldn't load into the game without connecting. I rebooted, and then it seemed fine, but my progress reset. I made a backup of my save, then exited and rebooted again at that point. After that, I went in and did the Restore Save and it finally worked. You may just need to continue trying to Restore Save until the Cloud Saves show up. Maybe try leaving the game running for a little bit before trying to Restore Save. Perhaps that'll allow it time to sync with the Cloud Saves. If you're on PC, make a backup of your save file. Instructions to find saves can be found in the pinned messages as part of the save transfer instructions.

When I was encountering the issue, it kinda seemed like if DRG couldn't connect to the Cloud Saves, then it wouldn't even look for the local save and just use that. I'm not sure, but it felt a bit off

Everyone who is trying to play together might also need to exit the game, and then all relaunch the game. That should fix joining issues. It seems that the game occasionally becomes out-of-sync with other players and will not allow invites or joining, but exiting and relaunching fixes that almost every time

Yeah, I've found that occasionally you must exit and relaunch the game to enable joining/inviting. It's just how things are. That said, exiting and relaunching is pretty easy and quick, and only an issue if you're in the middle of a mission

I can't begin to guess what causes it, but having everyone exit and relaunch fixes the issue almost every time, and when it doesn't, have everyone reboot their PC/Xbox, and that should make things work

I want to play with my kids, one person on PC and one on Xbox. From what I can tell Microsoft won't allow it based just on my Game Pass subscription. Trying to figure out if I create a new profile on my xbox and then buy the game for that profile, will i be able to play with two accounts at that point?

I want to say that for use in the same house, you can make the Xbox your primary device for your main account. Then you can sign in with that account from another device, like your PC, and access whatever you own while another account signs in on you Xbox and has access to everything that is installed on the Xbox. This is how it was explained to me, and how I understand the Family Share concept to work on Xbox. However, I can't say anything from experience as I do not have an Xbox myself, so I've not personally tried this. I'm also not sure if it works this way for games from Game Pass, but I would hope so. At any rate, I could be wrong about how it works, and I hope someone can come along and explain things better if I am.

Thanks for the help. I have tried doing this: i have confirmed that my xbox one is my home xbox for my profile that has game pass. I have created a new, different, non-family xbox live account and logged into the new profile on my xbox one and used it to launch Deep rock galactic.

When i then launch Deep Rock Galactic on PC using my gamepass profile I get this:

It may be that any titles you have available only through Game Pass do not work with the Family Share feature. That wouldn't surprise me, but I also haven't looked into it before to confirm how Game Pass works with Family Share

But Family Share is a thing that folks use for sure for titles they've purchased. I don't want to give you wrong info though, as I've never tried it myself to be able to confirm how it works

Dan, you're a champion. I got it to work this morning with this advice. I have account A with Game Pass & Owning the game logged in on the Xbox. I have account B with... nothing... logged in on the PC, but the PC has previously been logged into with Account A, which downloaded and installed the game on the PC. I was able to use Account A on the xbox to invite account B to play, and account B accepted and they're now in game together.

And now my girls can play together without fighting over the controller, and I can step in and rescue when one of them gets stuck in a 50m well they drilled straight down, running their drill out of gas in the process.

Since the last update with the Twins & Hiveguard, we've noticed that the Dreadnought has gotten faster and more lethal. It only stays on screen for a few seconds. You can increase the length of time before it fades, but by default it's not that long, and I've definitely missed messages there in the middle of a mission. But being on PC it's easy to bring up the chat and look at what you missed

• Does it matter at all if my Steam game profile is already started and leveled up?

I can't speak to the achievements thing as I haven't paid attention to 'em really, but I think you might unlock some based on the progress of your Xbox save... maybe?

As for progress on your existing Steam save, you are simply completely replacing the Steam save with the Xbox save. I do recommend making a backup of it just in case you goof anything up when moving files around, but it's a pretty easy process.

Turn on "Show extensions for known file types" in "Folder Options" in Windows before transferring, if you haven't already, as it'll make the process easier

And you shouldn't need to consume a second blank core. The core you use in the forge is already a weapon core

think of the blank core as downloading the schematics into your core after an event...then when you bring it back to the forge, you have the ability to create it w/resources.
