And it's interesting how the guy mentions the "Quick Resume" feature on XBox. It's a convenient feature, but the problem I see with it is that it disables you from playing online with other people. Am I the only person who's found that out or has that been fixed somehow?

Hello, my game keeps crashing to desktop with the error code "UE4-FSD Fatal Error"
No sound once i enter the game and it crashes once I load a mission and hop into the transport.

I am running the following system.
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (MSI)
Windows 10

I am running the game from the Microsoft windows store. All of my drivers have been updated and I have uninstalled and reinstalled DRG multiple times as well as verify the game files. The Firewall permissions have been set to allow on all networks. Even tried to roll back my graphics card driver a few versions to see if that helped.

Haven't been able to play with my fellow dwarves for the past month so really looking for any possible fix.

Steam does not have cross-play. Only Xbox and Windows Store versions can cross-play, so you would need to get it from the Windows Store to be able to play with your friend

The Steam version is completely separate from the Microsoft store version. They are the same game, but they have slightly different features (i.e. Steam version has Unions and Microsoft Store version does not, Microsoft Store version has crossplay with the Xbox while Steam version has no crossplay, etc.). They are two completely separate products, so you would have to buy it again. That being said, the save files for both versions are compatible, and with a little bit of work you can manually transfer your progress between the two

Yeah, that happens to me from time to time. It's frustrating when it does, but it's pretty infrequent. I've used Iron Will and gotten red sugar or a resupply and then went down as soon as the timer runs out, but I haven't ever noticed a pattern when it happens to try to pinpoint a cause

Hey, I was wondering, I play on both Steam and PC Game Pass versions of Deep Rock Galactic

I've made sure my mouse sensitivity options are the same for both of them, yet my PC Game Pass mouse sensitivity just feels different for some reason

There are probably some slight differences in a lot of how Deep Rock performs between those two versions because they are separate codebases. The Windows Store version was originally built using the UWP framework, which is pretty different from the x86 platform the Steam version is likely built on. Recently, the Windows Store version was overhauled to replace the UWP framework with the newer PlayFab framework, but it is still different from the Steam version. I wouldn't at all be surprised to find that the sensitivity settings don't align perfectly.

That being said, I've played both and have not noticed a difference between the two, but I probably just fail to notice sensitivity issues unless something feels really off. I'd be curious how different you end up setting each if you go through dialing them both in independently

Well, I may have found the problem actually. Mouse smoothing was on the Windows version, I have it off on the Steam version. Although I still feel like there's a difference... Maybe it's just me.

In order for the file to recognized, you must rename it to exactly the same name and file extension as the original file. This means you must also rename the original file since you cannot have two files in the same folder with the exact same name and extension. If you have not yet, you will want to turn on the option to view file extensions in Folder Options

Okay. I know it doesn't say exactly what you're describing, but what's described there certainly sounds like it could be related, so I figured it was worth checking out if you hadn't already. Are you able to join other people in other Windows Store games?

It's possible that the problem isn't with Deep Rock specifically, but rather with the Xbox networking stuff. But if you can do multiplayer in other Windows Store games, then it would look like it's a problem with Deep Rock specifically

Bummer. If you haven't yet rebooted your router that'd be something to try, but it sounds like you've done pretty much everything you can. Hopefully the devs have some ideas about what might cause this and are able do something about it soon. It doesn't seem like it's as widespread an issue as it was prior to Update 31.5, but I don't think you're alone. Update 31.5 did completely overhaul the underlying framework of the game as well as update the engine, so it was a major change and it'll take some time to hammer out all the new issues that popped up as a result

It's the holidays so it may be a bit before they're back to following the discord, let alone working on the issues. And when they are, unfortunately Microsoft ties their hands a bit with what kind of error messaging they can add to the game. They can do some stuff to get some answers on the backend, but they can't do much that is visible to players which limits our ability to identify the issue and provide helpful feedback. That's been part of what's made it hard to track down issues all along; they can only fix what they can see breaking and sometimes there's no way to know how to force things to break in order fix them

If you have the Windows Store version, you can use the Game Bar (Win Key + G) to find friends and join/invite them. Make sure you've launched and loaded all the way into the game, and then use the Game Bar. If it doesn't work the first time, have everyone exit and restart the game, load all the way in, and then try again. This works pretty much every time.
However, if you have the Steam version, there is no crossplay

Tbh you shouldn't expect your driller to always dig to the pod, I personally think it s boring the same way bunkering on haz4-5 is boring. I'm not saying if you reach a dead end sometimes drilling is the only way for your team to make it, but if we re on the final room of morkite expedition and the way up is relatively easy don't expect me to dig to the pod.

For sure, the way I see it is it s good practice not to. I feel the same way with Bosco when soloing, I try to not use him for mining just because you get more experience doing it yourself

Absolutely. If you always rely on someone drilling, it's going to make things harder when you don't have someone drilling. Plus, at this point -- for me at least -- a large part of the fun is learning each new cave and making a mental map. I plan the run back as I move forward whether or not the driller's gonna drill. Half the time I'm on my way before the driller has even figured out where they want to start drilling...

And that s assuming your driller has enough fuel to make it back wich might not always be the case, Ive had to call the last ressup while digging multiple times in my greenbeard days and tbh even today probably 1/10 drillers I play with try for tunnels most will just run back to the pod

If the cave is easy that’s one thing, but complex caves and not drilling is usually a waste of time. The amount of downs en route is reduced overall and given the payout bonus I would rather people play smart. It’s like having a gap and the gunner going “oh I won’t drop a line, better to practice mantling the terrain”.

Not utilizing ones class fully out of choice and the team suffering is like a scout not shooting flairs because it’s more fun to learn the map and play in the dark.

I don't see anyone arguing that teamwork or assistance should be withheld, that wouldn't be fun either as part of why this game shines is how well the teamwork works. All I'm saying is you should always be prepared to exfil the hard way because you never know when you might need to. And always doing things the easy way is boring. Some teams might want to race objectives and exfil, and that's a fine way to play, but so is taking your time and enjoying the space you're in in both the light and the dark. And it can be much easier to spot some objects in the dark than in a fully lit space. My point is there's no "right way" to play. As long as no one is being a jerk, I think we can all agree there's fun to be had no matter how a mission goes

I get your point but s it s really not the same as a scout not lighting up a room, engis not using plats.. you can be a very competent driller without using cheese tactics.If the host is driller and bunker I'm immediately leaving or if he drills to the pod I m personally not staying for another round just because it s boring, you re better of learning how to get to the pod yourself and have the driller help if needed along the way

If you re doing mining expedition with an experienced driller they would make shortcuts while going down the cave that way the mule can take those shortcuts and everyone can extract quicker/safely rather than digging a 200m tunnel while the mule is taking the loooong way up and you end up having to wait by the pod (literally everyone standing on the ramp 80% of the time)

Hey there, I am struggling with a bug (there are people out there with a similar problem)
I am playing on windows 10 with the game pass version,

• I can't join any games in the server list (it is loading forever)
• I can't join friends, I can't invite them, there is basically no multiplayer at all
• there is no "C - invite friends" in the top left when I arrive in the hub
• the "C - invite friend" somehow appears after failing to join a server (in the server list), but pressing C does nothing,
• the manual friend invitations (in the Esc menu, or WIN+G) don't work as well
• I reinstalled the game several times, even the xbox app, I completed the tutorial

I've got a question involving DLC. So basically, I play on both the Steam and Windows version of the game. When I wanna play on the Windows one, I do the whole thing to convert a steam save over to a windows save, and vice versa when I wanna play on the Steam version again.

On Steam, I own the Supporter edition for the game. But when I play on the Windows version, some of the Supporter edition perks remain, like any paintjobs I had on for my pickaxe / weapons (the gold one) stays. But other things like the gold armor paintjobs don't carry over, and can't be equipped or viewed. When I do things like customize my pickaxe, I can't choose the gold paintjobs either, if I take it off then it stays off until I get back over to the Steam version. (EDIT: To clarify, my pickaxe / weapon loadouts using the gold paintjobs stay, but any gold paintjobs I had equipped for armor gets unequipped, and isn't able to be re-equipped. It goes to the default paintjob, I believe)

And while this isn't a huge issue, given I don't use the golden armor paintjob much, I'm worried that I'll make entire loadouts using the Dark Future and Roughnecks DLCs, only to have them be unequipped / ruined when I play on the Windows version.

Guess what I'm trying to ask is, is there a way to keep any equipped DLC items for my dwarf equipped when I switch over to the Windows version, similar to how it works with my gold pickaxe paintjobs where it stays equipped but I can't equip it again? If that makes sense

If I read that right you wanna keep dlc that was bought over to windows using transfer save and you can kinda do that you just need to equip/wear that dlc when transferring it over and don’t unequip it at all in windows. I had the award helmet from steam on windows until I unequipted it for different headwear

One thing to try is to have you and your friend, and anyone else who would want to play with you, exit the game completely, and then relaunch the game. Wait until you're loaded all the way into the space rig and can run around before trying to join or invite.

This works pretty much every time for myself and friends. If it doesn't work the first time, have everyone reboot their console or PC and try again. Always try to launch the game within a few minutes of each other and always wait until fully loaded into the space rig to join or invite

None have been announced, it seems the plan for mod support is at least at this time just a marker on servers to notify people that the game they're joining is modded so people don't keep getting blindsided

if u wanna keep one set of DLC like roughneck DLC you have to equip it to dwarf and never change it, if u want one then one DLC in game then i recommend to buy them, transferring saves work with only one DLC

That's the thing though, I kept the gold paintjob equipped, I never unequipped it, yet it automatically switched it back to the default paintjob

I'm aware that stuff you equip will stay equipped, but can't get re-equipped, that's what happened with the gun paintjobs. But it was the armor paintjob in particular that automatically unequipped

What's actually bizarre is that any DLC shows up at all on a version where you haven't bought the DLC. It's always seemed like an unexpected effect of having similar save files, not an actual feature as DRG doesn't have cross-save built into the game. Basically, anything that crosses over is a little bonus which may become broken at any time

You should keep your progress. I would not uninstall the game, but you should have cloud saves tied to your Xbox Account, so you should be fine. That being said, if at any time you want to make a backup of your save file, I highly advise doing so just to be safe. 2 bugs i just found one bug is driller never says any voice lines about running out of fuel during a multiplayer session only says it during single player sessions, and bug 2 is not that important but when drilldozer dies when stationary for fuel canisters it shoots thru the map and slingshots everywhere

There s no cap for the blue rank, it goes up by 1/3 every time you level up any dwarf, promotions included

for sure like when im righteously (rock and)stoned eng is great i have a heavy stun chance oc's with turret whip and sit back and enjoy the fireworks

havent tried gunner yet he seems pretty self explanatory

i do wish vampire healed for more at its max level so a melee driller build was more viable in the late game

Scout is a lot of fun, but it's a completely different play style. Gunner is probably the most straightforward, yeah

i have my scout on two builds i flex between based on map mission ect but one is speedy medic the other is tame+cc

Absolutely! Once you get that first promotion I think is when the game really gets its hooks in you

Not only does she have a few new experiences in store, but we all do with the new enemies and biomes coming soon-ish

now is it just more or do those cosmetics and encounters happen way more frequently than last year, like i put in maybe 100 hours last year and found a whopping 6 cos played for 5 weeks this year and now im not sure but its more that 10 for sure its like nearly every other dive if not every one im finding things

It could be that the spawn chances have been increased. I haven't seen confirmation from the devs about that -- not here or in the patchnotes, anyway -- but it's possible they've talked about it in a livestream

It's also possibly that as part of the framework overhaul that happened near the end of last year the way things are spawned at cave generation could be different enough to wind up increasing the spawn rate by improving the conditions that would allow a machine event to appear

Yeah, when you first start out you can get at most 3 blank cores a week, one from the first stage of each deep dive and one from the first mission of the weekly core assignment. And they're often gone well before the weekly resets...

Once you aquire all of the weapon overclocks, the stages and missions that would give you weapon cores will give you blank cores instead, and then things start to pick up a little

The core infusers only spawn one matrix terminal per player, but I guess I've never tried using someone else's terminal. I don't think you can?

yeah if you havent promoted with that character you cant use it from what i understand, could be wrong i know i got some from a weekly and wasnt able to use it on my eng but was later able to use on scout could have been a bug tho too haha

I could be wrong, but I thought any dwarf, even unpromoted ones, can use blank cores if you have them and succeed at the machine event. You just can't activate a machine event with a dwarf who isn't promoted

Steam typically receives a planned update first. It then gets any major issues patched via some amount of hotfixes, and once it's stable and most of the issues have been found and fixed -- usually about a week or two -- the update gets sent to Microsoft for certification. The certification process sometimes only takes about 6 hours, but sometimes it can take much longer. Once it passes certification, it becomes available to download for the Xbox and from Windows Store around the same time
