Try hosting. My experiences have mostly all be good, but me or my friend are always host. It does help that I have my friend in with me of course, but even still most of the random folk who join are either learning the game (which makes things kinda fun in a chaotic kind of way because they tend to be less predictable), or they know the game and tend to be considerate (i.e. they don't take too much ammo, they don't push the button or start objectives prematurely, etc.)

But hosting is key if you've had bad experiences, because then you can control things to some extent

oh no, the other 60% of the time games run smoothly, sometimes we fail due to a rouge detonator, or bad situations but otherwise the game is fun. I have hosed games, but my common experience with hosting is people just dont join for like the first 10 minutes

Forgive me for being presumptuous, but it is possible that, as a newer player (you said you are playing using gamepass,) you might just not realize that some of the things you're doing are making a situation harder for your team. Hosting for sure can help, since anyone unhappy with how you're playing will just leave, and you'll be left with people who have expectations in line with yours. Not saying it's 'right' to kick people for unintentionally making a mission moderately more challenging, but some people will

i dont mine away platforms, i make ziplines for easily shooting down in situations like with dread fights, i dont call the mule if someone recently called it, i ping resources near others if they didnt notice it, or when i first enter a cavern, i never take more than 1 resupply unless theres its just 2 people

otherwise my job as gunner is just to kill bugs, i dont mine through walls, i dont get left behind, i alwasy try to revive team mates first thing, ill drop shields on downed players to clear the space for reviving

I certainly don't mean to say that Deep Dives require voice chat, just that they require more coordination than regular missions. It also depends on how conservative you play. I often wander off, so not being in communication can become problematic quickly in the wrong circumstances...

In every game with random I've played, that's all I've used

But I do find that with higher difficulty levels my chances of successfully completing a mission are improved with voice chat. Granted, I'm speaking with friends, so my enjoyment of the game is also improved with voice chat

Though we've had chat issues (mainly with discord) and have still pulled off some wild stuff with zero comms

But everyone is playing as a team, which is what makes that possible

There's also just the fact that you can run more interesting builds if you're playing with a group in voice chat. If you want to consistently be able to succeed in playing with public lobbies, a build that is too niche won't work, because you will have times where you essentially just need to do everything. It can be really rewarding taking a more niche build, and working well with others who will compensate for its weaknesses

Basically, server browser is fine if you want to chill and run through some assignment missions. But you do have to accept that there are some experiences you can only get with a group

TBH I'd like someday to play consistently with someone more experienced than myself. I've introduced several friends to the game and play with them, but none of them have really gotten past their bronze promotions and developed a more unique and effective playstyle.
It's rewarding and all to have helped a group get to a point where they can clear EDDs consistently, but it's different than having someone with whom I could discuss or criticize one another's play

It's pretty clear to me from watching gameplay of the really experienced guys that there's a lot I could improve, but it's kinda hard to do entirely on my own because I can at least clear the hardest missions consistently. Without the game giving me as much immediate feedback, I'd love to have someone besides myself to observe and learn from

I feel I'm a little different in that I'm pretty sure I'm as good as I can get (which is not the best ever, not even close, but good enough to handle Haz 5 when I feel like it and clear the Elite Deep Dives with my friends), and I don't want to get better. I know there's folks out there using very interesting weapon/mod/overclock/perk combos, and doing that sounds cool, but it's more work than I want to do. Props to the folks that can and do figure out and pull off those ways to play though. Deep Rock doesn't ask that of me, and I'm kinda glad for it

When joining pubs I personally never dig eggs, mini mule legs or start dreadnoughts, best leave those to the host or wait for him to tag them

I’m using a 55 inch 4K tv and with my RTX 2070 SUPER my FPS goes from 100 to 13 FPS. It depends on how many flares are in the caves also

DRG is not really optimized like a lot of these AAA games are to have a set FPS.

Try setting screen resolution to 720p and see if that helps

What he should maybe do try help is check CPU usage whilst playing, if it's high, then set a FPS cap

This will reduce CPU usage in general and smooth things out a bit if the issue is again CPU related

If you say too that it mostly stutters when using a mouse, are you using a PS2 mouse or USB? I think a PS2 connector mouse physically interrupts the CPU where as USB does not, but also having sometimes mouse polling rate on USB mouse at 1000 Hz or higher can be more demanding, test out lowering poling rate to 500 Hz or lower

Oh dang. The newer Call of Duty games take up a considerable amount by themselves, so yeah, you might want to go with a 1TB at that point. Well cod is so large because of disgusting unoptimization. It’s easy to get files that large when you don’t bother to compress audio files. The first titanfall had 60gb of uncompressed audio files. It had to be installed on an ssd or it’d cripple performance after about 40 minutes. Your hard drive couldn’t load the files into ram fast enough.

Games do not need to be 200+ gb. Those that are are, in my opinion, done intentionally from management. Why bother spending time (and money) optimizing when people will buy it anyways?

according to microsofts settings for apps/games the most storage being used is by halo master collection at 122 GB and red dead redemption 2 at 118 GB

while DRG is at 1.67 gb

Steeves can sometimes get stuck at dig spots if you don't dig the path wide enough. I've had a Steeve stuck near the beginning of a cave, which means I'm unable to tame another, and I've only found out the original was still alive when I ran into him during extraction. If you dig the hole wider, he should come on through

jo guys. since yesturday i can't start my game anymore for some reason o.ô well. to be preceise the game does start, but in the info-screen my mouse seem to bug and will only be able to move in the top right 2/3 of the screen. so i can never click on the continue-button

microsoft DRG version uses directx 12 by default so if your video card cant handle directx 12 that might be a problem

it does open, and what happens is it goes past both coffee stains logo and ghost ship logo and then does a weird loading screen then the screen goes black and crashes
