Ah, well if you own it on Xbox, then you already own it on Windows. It's an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Buy it once and play on any Microsoft platform, so either your console or your Windows PC.

Now, you will have to buy the game on Steam, if you haven't already, if you want to move to Steam

You'll just need to log into your Xbox account from the Xbox App on PC, and you should be able to download DRG right away. It should also sync your cloud save file, but if it doesn't, you'll need to open the in-game Options menu, select Save Menu, then select Restore Save

Because those two achievements got added after the initial set, when the liquid morkite and escort missions were added to the game. At that time, Microsoft had pretty limiting rules regarding adding achievements to a game.

Steam has no such restrictions, so the achievements were added right away, and those mission types were already part of DRG when it launched on PlayStation, so over there they could just be baked into the initial set of achievements

No, nothing should get messed up. You simply won't have access to select any of the DLC cosmetics you don't own on the platform you are currently playing on 🙂

You may still see DLC cosmetics on your dwarves if you had them selected before you transferred the save file, but if you try to change cosmetics you won't be able to select the DLC ones again

You shouldn't need one. It should just work automatically. Load it up on Windows 11 and sign into your Xbox/Microsoft account, and you should have your saves sync from the cloud.

If it doesn't just work automatically, load up the game, open the in0game Options menu, select Save Menu, and then select Restore Save. This should present you with a list of available cloud saves that you can load

I meant transferring windows data from windows 11 to steam

The basic method should be the exact same for Windows 10 and Windows 11:

1. Copy the file from the Windows save location.
2. Paste the file in the Steam save location.
3. Rename the Windows save file to have the same file name and file extension as the Steam save file.

The only thing that should be different is Windows 11 might have a different save location. I haven't moved to Windows 11 yet, so I'm not sure if the Windows save location is the same or not. If the guides don't mention it, I'd first check to see if the location is roughly the same. If you can't find it, then you might need to do some investigating on where Xbox/Microsoft Store games save their save files

You're correct in thinking it releases at roughly sometime today. It's usually not an exact science as the devs are often working on the update until the last possible moment, then it needs to go through console certification. If a dev gets a chance, they'll try to pop in here and give us a heads up either when it goes live or a little before it goes live

For example, since it launched on Steam two weeks ago, they've already patched Season 5 four times. And while they're doing that, they're getting the console versions ready and trying to port over as much of the Steam fixes as possible so we get the best update possible

Today the void ate me

This is probably more to do on Microsoft's end (and apologies if this has already been mentioned), but the game tile's artwork has yet to update to Season 5 on Xbox, which also means when highlighted on the dashboard, the background game art wallpaper is still Season 4.

I've just been playing on the WinStore update, and have been running into a lot of micro-stutters, where the game freezes for a half-second at a time very frequently. Even happens on the command ship outside of a mission.
I just went up to NVidia drivers 551.61, on Win10

I played for a few hours last night and did not experience this. I was host and playing with friends, and neither of them mentioned issues like this. There was only one stutter I noticed, and it was during the sequence of the drop pod landing in a mission.

I don't say this to imply that it can't happen, but rather to point out it may have something to do with your PC specifically. I'm probably not on the latest nvidia driver at the moment, myself.

DRG is (perhaps surprisingly) a rather CPU intensive game, compared to most games which are GPU intensive. Any other software that is making a demand on the CPU could potentially cause DRG to have poor performance. If you haven't rebooted and tried again, I would definitely do that just to start fresh. And sometimes various overlays and/or stuff like Razer software has been known to cause issues with various games. And overclocking can sometimes cause issues

If you've already rebooted and it still doesn't work, open the Xbox App, log out of your Xbox account, reboot, and then try to launch DRG. It'll ask you to log in when it launches, and sometimes that can get things back on track.

If neither of those work, you may have to get into some more serious fixing. Give a shout and I'll try to help

There is no account linking or cross-progression. The devs have no access to your save file as everything is only stored locally and in each platform's cloud.

You can manually copy your save file from the Microsoft version to the Steam version, but it does not automatically update, so you have to copy between version every time if you want progress to be updated on both. Personally, I only copy my save to the Steam version when I am about to play on Steam, as I play that version less frequently, and I never bother moving my save back to Microsoft.

Hi, so I had this issue where a bunch of DLCs I had bought earlier went missing when I alternated between Xbox and PC, however I realized that the reason was because my Microsoft store profile was different from what I use to play the game, changing it to the same profile fixed my issue.
Another issue presents that I bought the supporter 2 pack WHILE my store profile was logged as that other profile, and now despite having my other DLCs, I don’t have access to the supporter 2 content on PC (everything works fine on console), anyone got any suggestions?

Using a mouse on the xbox version is absolutely miserable. I had to try it once when my internet went out so I couldn't play on PC and ended up sharing my phone's internet to xbox and plugging in the M&KB. Decided I'd rather not play at all as soon as I tried to look around on the spacerig

It went alright for me. As I said the break in period for me getting used to it will be on going still. The only problem I encountered was- I turned my Xbox on with the controller and once the timer on inactivity ran out the controller shut off despite the M&KB still giving inputs. But once the controller turned off it seemed to cut off any other inputs that it was receiving. So tonight after work I’m going to trouble shoot that a bit more. Maybe turn the Xbox on at the console instead of using the controller. See if I can turn the Xbox on with the M&KB and bypass the controller issue altogether.

Yeah tho some don’t use it and some just cheat, i’ve only encountered it once and it was someone using infinite ammo but I hear some crank up the rewards given at the end of the mission to crazy amounts, which can mess with your sense of progression but luckily there is an option called restore save, I believe it creates a save after every mission so you only lose the time spent in that one

Figure I'd ask in here as it may be more relevant: What buttons do you guys assign to the paddles on the back of the Xbox Elite controller? I play on PC, but I prefer to play on pad for now. I've got Right and Left D-pad buttons on the upper paddles, and B (Flare) and A (Jump) on the lower paddles. I'm still not used to it, and wondering if there was any combination that worked for you?

Maybe one of you guys might know what this issue is. I have a headset with a mic but for some reason I can’t talk with randoms for some reason. I don’t think I have another game where I can test the mic is multiplayer games. But if I pull up one of people in my friend list I can send them a voice message. When I double click the salute button to bring up the chat menu, pressing select allows speech to text and that works just fine. And while I haven’t joined anyone for a discord group, when I create a group by myself and start speaking, my name icon show up on screen indicating the system is getting the mic audio. It’s just not game not receiving the mic audio.

But in the case I was wearing the "Order od the deep armor" And well I was looking around and realzied I was missing the "Order of the deep" paint job, didn't realize I had to be using a different armor to see that paint job

The DLC armor’s default paint job is the DLC paint job. So technically speaking the vanilla armors in the game have one more paint job that the DLC will never get.

It’s hard to find bad apples in the DRG community, a vast majority of the community is willing to help green beards. Alongside the community, The game is really new player friendly. The tutorial gives you a basic idea of what to do, the classes are very self-explanatory and each mission is pretty much guided all the way from start to end by mission control.

Some other tips for when you hop back on
- When you call a resupply and there’s 3-4 players make sure not to take 2 of the nodes without asking, it’s not as necessary on easier hazards but still good to learn now
- If you see a grunt that’s glowing blue, that’s Steeve, he’s friendly
- Make sure to stick with your team (or at least stay closeby), there a certain enemies that love a dwarf by themself
- An icon will appear next to someone’s name if they’ve called Molly, you can use your laser pointer to see if they’re done with her (like if she’s say down and they’re no longer near her)

No, crossplay is not going to happen. The short answer is the Steam version would have to be downgraded to match the console versions, and DRG relies entirely on peer-to-peer connections established by each platform, so there's no servers or software to facilitate matchmaking across platforms

But the game was never designed for it, so it would be a huge amount of time, money, and work to make happen, and I doubt Steam folks would prefer to downgrade to be compatible. Sure, they both have peer-to-peer connections, but one of them has a ton of money spent on it and has been around for over a decade, and the other is a small indie game about some dwarves.

Does the technological possibility of DRG getting crossplay exist? Sure, there are no technological reasons why the devs couldn't downgrade the Steam version and create servers to allow accounts on different platforms to communicate and join one another. But I seriously doubt Steam users want to downgrade, for one, and for two, DRG has limited resources and the devs have to make careful decisions on where best to spend those resources.

If you can somehow convince Microsoft, and Steam, and PlayStation to all allow people from other platforms to just magically connect together with no additional money and work for the devs, I'm sure it'd go a long way towards making it happen. Then all you'd have to do is convince all the Steam people to remove modding support, remove Unions, and accept reduced cave generation complexity...

Ofc, Warframe devs just came out with billions dollars out of nowhere and made everything happen eventually. It’s game that struggled to born for almost decade, than it was finally funded by players and it wasn’t outstanding at start, and now it’s one of the most popular games.

Yes, DRG developers perhaps not as experienced as DE, but Warframe started it from the lowest bottom possible, I see no reasons why DRG can’t reach big heights, it’s already great game and developers showing good attitude.

Warframe's dev team appears to be over 10 times the size of GSG. Warframe has been printing money for a while. DRG has done well, but some estimations make it seem like Warframe has made as much in a year as DRG has probably made in 5. Some numbers I can find on google suggest that Warframe has about 10 times the player count.

Perhaps when DRG reaches those levels, then maybe a comparison might start to make sense. While you're at it, would you care to also compare Fortnite? That's a popular choice, because it also has crossplay

A lot of the headwear references movies and other games. Examples are like one metal mohawk that looks likes Yondu’s, there’s another mohawk that could be a reference to the dwarf slayers from Warhammer and there’s also Mavericks (Top Gun) hair and shades. Hello, recently I needed to send my Xbox away for some repairs too be done. It took some time so I decided to play some drg on my old gen console but then when I booted it up my progress was gone, thinking nothing of it I just waited for my Xbox to come back but now I see that I don’t have any data in my restore save section in the settings. Is there anything I can do to restore my progress? I have around 15 days on the game and I have spent some money on it previously and it would be a big headache for all of that to go to waste.
