Case in point, the pre-run setup required to speedrun Sly Cooper 2 at the most optimal level.

You need:

One of the Fat A-K models of the PS3, a SSD in said PS3, a digital copy of the game...

and for said copy to use korean.

And there's good reasons for ALL of those.

For some reason, the Fat A-K models (aka the oldest models of PS3) are the fastest when it comes to playing Sly 2. Not the L-Qs, not the Slims or Super Slims, just the A-Ks.

SSD makes the game load faster but it's also standard because someone did a run with SSD after installing it for storage space and got world record.

Digital copy is a given. Disc reading takes time and that doesn't happen if it's completely on the device.

As for why the copy needs to be korean... it's because a lot of the dialogue gets munched, including cutscenes, which is obviously VERY good for speedrunners.
