Machine events can be activated after you do your first promotion, or if a promoted dwarf is in your party. There's no reward directly except for bonus XP (check the assignment box in the top right!), but after you complete one of those, IF you have an empty matrix core, you can infuse it at that cube to get an overclock or cosmetic core. If you don't have any empty cores, you don'T get anything from it

I've been having a problem where I'm in the US, but the game doesn't seem to think so. I don't see many US games and when I do they show up as WORLD. If I do see them and join I have reasonable pings, but it is hard to find games because NEAR games are actually far away and have bad latency. I've tried using the bug tracker to report the issue, but haven't seen any response. Any ideas on how to get a hold of the devs? I'm wondering if the game is doing some sort of geolocating based on my IP address and has an old database or something.

It’s probably not what you want to hear, but if a game is making your rig crash and reboot, it’s a problem with your rig.

We see a few of these reports a week in here, usually coupled with “this only happens with DRG”. DRG does seem to tickle the CPU and GPU in ways that many games don’t, but ultimately if your hardware is functioning properly then even a buggy game won’t cause a complete reboot of the machine.

There are a lot of good guides and tools out there to stress test PCs and reproduce the problem outside of DRG. Aging power supplies and failing cooling fans are common causes of this type of problem.

hey so I solved the "waiting for steam to load" by installing the game into another folder (steam library), so something of my system definitely caused the weird issue. It may be a bug in how the game expects the folder structure to work, or something about my computer just got fucked up or my antivirus was excluding something (I checked multiple times and it didn't seem like it but who knows)

I only tested the normal missions for now, and I keep lagging every 20 seconds, so, I don't think that may be because of ennemies spawning, the game is almost unplayable for me (I also have a video of it)

Laptops are prone to thermal throttling under load, which can cause FPS drops. If it were mine, I’d confirm first that it isn’t throttling

I tried doing one game, the max temperature of both CPU and GPU was 90 degrees celsius, however, when I played the game with directx11, I had absolutely no lags, while simply choosing the option "play deeprockgalactic" without the directx options on steam before starting the game made me constantly lags. So, I will do some others tests as the last one were made one month ago.

I should note that the 90C number is for the die only. You don't have temperature measurements of memory (vram or otherwise) or the mosfets.

Alright, I will keep an eye on that, my fans weren't maxed, and I am not playing on a surface that let the air pass from below (cause I believe my pc also reject air from below). The normal temperature of my PC is 60*C, here's a small graphic

Hey yall, anyone else ever have a problem where you start a mission and Molly doesn't spawn? I was doing a morkite mission and had an extra long loading time, some weird physics at the start, and then my MULE just phased out of existence

I’ve had an issue for months where DRG will get a huge lag spike and nobody can hear me on discord. It happens in regular intervals of about 15 min and lasts roughly 20 seconds. I can still hear people in discord though which is odd. They just can’t hear me replying. This does not happen in any other game I play. I’m on Ethernet. I’ve looked up a variety of solutions but none have worked. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, so somehow I lost all of my save data, and don't know how to get it back. The game crashed to desktop on boot yesterday and now the save is gone. I don't have a backup of DRG on a working device, and am wondering if there is anything anybody knows of that I can do to recover my lost data. i have restarted router multiple times, tried changing some code thing in one of the files, cleaned up my PC, restarting my PC consistently, i've deleated and reinstalled the game, turned on v-sync, stuff like that

my game frreezes about every couiple minutes for about 5 or more seconds each freeze and it does it on both signle and multiplayer. even in the lobby

i think it may of started when i got windows 11 but im not certain on that

i didn't have the problem for awhile then i did, i have a newer laptop, the MSI Stealth so i can't think its my computer

Playing on the PS5 version, after the patch that was supposed to fix trophies unlocks the Legendary Miner trophy tracking progress is stuck and not counting completed missions, it dosen't match the missions completed number on the statistics panel. Had a game with two bugs: The image I am showing you was from our engie with a bugged sentry gun and when I played scout my cryo grenade froze a breeder but it did not fell down. The breeder was marked as frozen but was still flying and laying eggs. Couldn't freeze the breeder again. Backup your save somewhere, then wipe them out from the DRG file

Well, a bit of progress. Had to turn off cloud sync. Deleted, launched and it was running at normal FPS. Quit and relaunched, without restoring my old saves, and it's back to 0 FPS.
The crash only happens with DX11, which I'm fine not selecting, cause DX12 launches it. But that's where the 0 FPS comes into play.

Not sure if this is actually bug but I've been told machine events guarantee a weapon OC if you don't have them all but as I'm reaching the end of OC hunting I'm getting very frustrated with that not actually being the case:

There are 124 OCs in the game afaik so I should still be getting guaranteed OCs if that is indeed how it's supposed to work.

No idea if that is an actual fact or not

In case this is relevant: I picked the left and right OCs in the 2 cases this happened so far. Both really gave cosmetic OCs. In between those 2 cases I also still had an event give the normal 2 weapon OCs/1 cosmetic OC distribution

As I currently only have OCs left for driller and scout, when neither of them are spawned on the left or right a weapon OC isn't given.
This seems normal albeit annoying since there's now RNG involved but people told me this isn't how it's supposed to work and if there are weapon OCs left only for one or two classes that they should appear on the side so you can get the weapon OC.

So often in this game after running you stop and start reviving your teammate or taking a resupply, and then after a second or so, the process breaks, without you or the teammate / resupply seemingly moving anywhere. You have to start over, having lost precious seconds (especially when on iron will). I'm not the only one experiencing this. Is this considered a bug, or is it so well spread that it is considered a standard behaviour now?

No screenshot (sorry) but i just got the bugged event infuser and for whatever reason the part you put core into spawned in the middle of omen plate, was able to put core in but it wasn't interactable otherwise. Maybe other cases of uninteractable infuser are the same and just spawn core slots somewhere you can't see

I've been having serious stuttering issues throughout my time playing this game. Sometimes, when starting it for the first time, it'll have occasional stutters, even in the Space Rig, though it gets REALLY bad in missions. Oddly, especially when the drop pod is present or just when something in the environment is moving in general. I don't mean enemies, though. I think it's specifically stuff with huge collision boxes, like (as I've already said) the drop pod or those... whatever they're called, the station things on Point Extraction. Usually, restarting the game fixes it, but not this time. I've restarted the game twice now, and it's still happening. I don't know what to do. I do know that Nvidia's overlay causes issues for me sometimes, but turning that off doesn't fix it. I've yet to mess with the game's settings or try restarting while the overlay's already off, but I'll get to that when I finish this mission.

DRG-4603 seems to describe it pretty well, actually

But I haven't tried much of any of the stuff they have, so I dunno.

Can’t remember off the top of my head, but I’m pretty sure I meet the recommended specs because the game runs fine. Consistent 60 fps with all settings at max.

The only issue is the stuttering.

Though beyond my video card, I dunno if I’m supposed to keep everything else up to date or if it updates itself

Anyway, I’m testing a new theory. As it turns out, even if I have the overlay disabled and the app completely closed and turned off, Twitch Studio is still watching my game somehow. It’s caused problems for DOOM Eternal, so I’m gonna see if getting rid of it entirely helps with DRG as well.

Both are 50~ FPS and often drops to 30s

CPU usage doesn't go over 25%, GPU practically just sitting idle at 15% usage at most.

PC specs are Ryzen 5800x and RTX 2060, used to get well over 180fps and almost never dropped below 90s before

Posting here for extra visibility...there are several reports in #deep-dive-discussion that stage 2 of this week's new Deep Dive doesn't have enough morkite on PC platform.

If you're encountering this problem, it's possible to work around it if you've unlocked Dark Morkite beer in the Abyss Bar (or are playing with someone who has). By moving the clock forward on the PC in half hour increments and checking the space rig each time, you can eventually get Dark Morkite and easily get enough morkite to complete the stage.

We've had tight morkite secondaries in the past, but the volume of reports (and length of time some players have spent trying to find the last vein / scrap) feels like a possible cavegen bug / corner case.

For reference, it's "Bedazzled Interest" Deep Dive in Fungus Bogs, Stage 2 (Escort + 150 morkite + no mutators).

All reports seem to be on PC/Steam so far, but it's likely happening on the Microsoft Store PC version as well. Haven't seen any console reports yet, which may be due to different cavegen on consoles.

I was is the shop and was looking at armors and found that pressing d puts the armors color on my current armor, and pressing a lets me keep the armor on in the menu while looking at other options. Pressing a also works with hats, and if I go back to any option lower than one I've used the glitch on it resets everything as soon as I preview another option. I don't know how much of this is intended if any, and I don't know how to make a bug report so IDK the info is here if anyone is curios.

The issue got fixed after disabling an "armor restriction removing" mod, which only appeared as active while not in a multiplayer lobby. (basically in a multiplayer lobby it didn't appear as active but solo it appeared in the mod list and he successfully disabled it)

bosco doesn't typically miss anything unless it's a big vein and he just stops halfway through, his problem is that he mines chunks in a way that some become too small to drop anything (something like 0.5 units just get deleted), so i don't always trust him with nitra

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have a Steam Deck and have successfully synced your main save to it? I can NOT for the life of me get them to sync using cloud saves. Something about my save file is a mess and no matter what I do, my main/active save on my main PC will not transfer over to my steam deck even after it says they successfully sync. I can sometimes dig around the save menu's "restore save" to find a recent save, but it's never the most recent active one.

Do you guys think the game has stuttering and huge frame drops problems on PC? I personally have both problems. I have analyzed that I have had a GPU bottleneck and not a CPU one. I am unsure how widespread the issue is or anything but I would like to know if a lot of people has those issues. Note that I tried several things to make it work and I went back and forth with DX11 and DX12 without finding a resolution to my problem.

I thought the solution to my issue (similar to what it sounds like you've been dealing with) was to check to make sure my "main save" and "active save" are the same, since at one point they weren't. I followed the advice of "Mad_Mechanic_280" in this reddit thread and I thought it fixed it (my main save is now also my active save), but it only solved it for one cloud sync. There appears to be a bug where if the host enters the drop pod to exit for a mission - leave and come back - leave and come back the 15 second timer doesn't actually reset... so it becomes possible for the host to just walk in and start mission - not that this is liable to be an issue, but I feel like the timer shouldn't look like it's reset if it didn't actually reset

Anyone else had problems with iffy difficulty levels? We just came back from 2 missions in a row where, on the first an absurd amount of enemies (esp. wardens and praetorians) spawned + 3 bulk detonators, and on the second there was a Prospector in the starting area, lotta wardens again and then a Dreadnought spawn (???) + a swarm while the dreadnought was at half health. Hey ! There is a little problem inside Bosco's small brain chip : If I don't target the exact weakpoint of the stabber vine (the yellow sphere) Bosco will instead attack the base of the stabber vine effectively locking bosco in place

YO yall got a huge issue u need to figure out. its all over reddit, your forums, etc. My game freezes unless I alt tab. Alt tabbing unfreezes the game like it should be. After reinstalling and every other trouble shooting method, even underclocking parts, putting the game at a 60FPS cap seems to have fixed it. I have a a better PC than most people. My monitor alone costs what most gamer's rigs cost in here. Please get on fixing that lol.

This tells me absolutely nothing about what your hardware or software configuration is. It's an impossibility to make any piece of software that works on every hardware/software configuration. The fact that a framerate cap solves the issue leads me to believe that you have nonstandard software installed that's creating a conflict.

im running into an issue where my input delay gets gradually worse overtime whenever im in game. It "resets" and the input lag is gone if i press escape and bring up the pause screen but it will get gradually worse again until i reset it again. Im using DX12 with vsync on atm. turning off vsync seems to fix the issue but the tearing is unbearable for me.

I've been getting a really strange bug.

Twice now, I've started up a lobby of the Normal Deep Dive, me hosting, and right as a player joins me and begins to load into the rig, my reticle suddenly and violently fights to look straight up and have me spin rapidly in place while they load in. Then randomly it will try and do it again as I move and look around in the lobby after they've finished loading in.

Haven't played DRG in about a month but I know of a bug for the escort mission beamer towers. I'm pretty sure this has to do with high ping, but when I join my friend I have about 220 some ping and when I destroy a tower, the beam stops shooting but the tower still glows as though its still active.

I have this weird issue with DRG, where since a few weeks ago, steam no longer syncs the game properly between devices.
On my main PC the game is fine and syncs the progress I make while I play on a secondary PC, but when I open the game on the secondary PC, it complains about syncing issues and instead takes a save file from the cloud that isn't up to date with the progress on my main PC.
I only have 5 days to finish up on the season 1 pass, but the game keeps throwing my progress back on the second PC meaning I will only have less than a day to get the last 10 levels done.

Steam is up to date, so that shouldn't be the cause of the issue.

I've started having a weird issue on Live since I played on Experimental a few times. Sometimes when I boot up the game, it will say something like "Corrupt files, verify local installation," and then crash. When I boot up the game again, all my mods have to reinstall and I have to reset the active status for most of them.

Audio clipping/stuttering which involves a freeze of display/audio for 0.5-1sec happens pretty regularly, like once every 3-10minutes

@hallow quarry you can restore save from ESC -> settings -> save menu -> restore save, not sure this is same for PlayStation. You can skip tutorial mission

Hello hello. I have a small issue where I often get disconnected after I call the Drop Pod on Xbox One, screen says Multiplayer session ended.

For the first time today I had disconnects in general and then even two in one day. Multiplayer session ended and reconnecting brought me to the space rig. Nothing to do with calling the pod though.
Wondered if something is up today?

If a trophy/achievement doesn't pop and reinstalling the game doesn't work, your only options are to either wait for a patch or start a new game from scratch :(.

Happened to me on console.. next time I played an edd it unlocked during the 3rd mission

I was doing a solo extraction mission at hazard 4 and the grunt spawn timer was near instant. It felt like swarmageddon. It was really annoying as I couldn't focus on objectives. As soon as I killed them which took about 15-30 seconds another wave would immediately spawn. This happened for the entire match and cost me the game.

Likely not a bug. Point Extraction spawns keeps ramping up as long as you stay in the mission. You likely took too long.

If anyone has any information on Patrol Bots, Bursters, and Shockwave bots not exploding on overheat please let me know. It's already been reported but I had it happen 5+ times my last mission so I wanna see if that was coincidence or if I did something I can use to repeat the bug. I've heard people say that it's patrol robots that were destroyed but weren't hacked in time and come back online, but that wouldn't explain why Bursters did it 3 times in a row my last mission.

Is this your issue? Sounds similar to something one of the researchers from the wiki channel discovered:

...anything that applied heat through ETemperatureIntensity such as Sticky Flames, burning Sludge Puddles, Incendiary Grenades, etc., would not cause the robots to die

In a nutshell, under the hood, certain game mechanics related to heat aren't working right vs. bots. If you're using a weapon that applies heat via one of those mechanics that's bugged vs. robots, it won't work.
