hey lads, so the problem is that my drg doesn't start, it shows me this black loading screen, which ends up as a crash. I've tried to inspect local files, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled drg, cleared steam cash, nothing worked

also, when I went to the task manager to close drg, it was saying that drg wasn't responding

I backed up the SaveGame folder files, besides the mod folder

then I uninstalled the game

then I checked if there are any residual files in \steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic

deleted 2 folders

redownloaded the game, but didn't move backup files back to SaveGame folder

as tutorial says, if there isn't that issue anymore, I should move those backup files back to SaveGame

but the issue still remains

Has anyone else gotten a bug where the EPC charge shot deals no damage when it hits terrain? I feel like if this was as consistent as it is for me more people would be reporting it so I'm just checking here. While not the host, my EPC charge shots can only deal AOE damage if they hit an entity like a player, MULE, or enemy. If they hit terrain no damage is dealt.

Hi, I got a problem with my deep rock saves

I'm playing with other hardware and when I downloaded game my gunner was promotion lvl 3, while I do know that it was promoted on lvl 5 (2 star silver) and I had more skins and stuff in general. Can you help me please? I checked the backup save option the game has but it says that it can't load cloud saves.

Before I started the game, steam showed that Main Files were conflicting with the ones stored in cloud. I clicked "download to this machine" for cloud files cause I thought that it would be logical since cloud saves would give me most recent ones. Could that be the reason of lost progress?

I try to run it as an administrator, but each time I load up the game, I get a screen that says "Steam is loading" or something. I have the most recent crash report if that would help

Not sure if I should post this as a bug as there are already 2 existing ones that have been closed (DRG-3789, DRG-4467). But I can no longer interact with my union terminal. After I joined once the terminal told me to that I hadn't joined next time I launched the game. So I followed the link and joined again which seemed to work. The next time I launched the game the union terminal crashed the game. Since then (12/2021) I can't interact with the terminal any more.

I think I found a bug, not sure if is has been reported before or if anyone encounter it but here goes.
When I wear the neck guard on any class, anyone playing that class will have a dark grey beard instead of their selected hair colour. For example, I picked the neck guard on my scout and now I see my gf's scout's beard dark grey with red moustache. I realised this when I was in game with another scout which had the same "issue" and I tested this by wearing the neck guard on my engineer and now my gf's engineer's beard turned dark grey.

My DRG doesn't start properly, the thing is that after publisher's and developer's intros a black loading screen with a Deep Rock Galactic title and a little running dwarf appears, which ends up as a crash.
During this loading process, in task manager, drg appears as "not responding", and you can not see the icon of it on the horizontal bar at the bottom of monitor. Anyhow, I'll tell you what I did in details, as @amber quiver suggested himself to ping you.
Firstly after this issue came up, I deleted and installed drivers manually, since that helped me last time. Eventually this didn't help me, so I dived deeper to find out the cause of the problem.
Next I verified integrity of local files, didn't help.
Then I tried to set compatibility of DRG to Windows 8, didn't help (I did the same thing to FSD.exe aswell, didn't help either), Then I did the "disablemodding" launch, didn't help (I've used mods before, so I think that's the possible reason of DRG not launching properly), then I tried launching it by both DX11 and DX12, didn't help, then I tried manually deleting files and folders from steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic, and installing it again, didn't help, then I used your own method in FAQ, Point 9 (**"- Navigate to \steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Saved\SaveGames and make a backup of those save files. If you do not make a backup of your save files, they may be gone when you delete them in a later step.

• Then you're going to uninstall the game.

• Check \steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic for any residual files and delete them.

• Re-download the game, but do not move your save files back.

• Launch the game and see if your issue persists.
  If it doesn't then move your save files back into the SaveGames folder or use the save recovery feature (esc > options > restore save"**)

Then I used the "Advanced System Repair" to detect and delete corrupt files, as I thought they might have been the cause of this issue, didn't work. Then I cleared the download cache data from steam, didn't work.

I'm pretty sure that's everything I did, but I may forget some things, so. That's pretty much it, I hope you will see this whole essay. I'd need some help, so I'll be waiting. Thanks.

I don't know if this it's something that has already been reported, but believe I have discovered a possible bug with the season rewards.
In the season terminal, it only displays 10 levels of rewards at a time, and it seems that if you do not redeem your rewards before leveling into the next 10 levels, you will lose them.
Example: today I started at level 59. Level 60 gives 3 scrips. I didn't go to the terminal to redeem my rewards until after I hit lvl 61. When I did, lvl 60 had the green checkmark on it and I was no longer able to redeem it, but I did not have the scrips.
I had felt like this had happened when I bought the supporter pack, which gave me several levels. But at that time, I couldn't be certain that I had not actually received the rewards that were no longer redeemable, as I wasn't sure how much of everything I had previously.

encountered someone who has had the 'Prospector' achievement (20 compressed gold chunks) stuck at 19 out of 20 for quite some time, is there any known way to reset the achievement's detection? I don't code so I dunno what causes this bug and I've seen it listed as 'known' for a while but are their temporary workarounds? Pretty sure it's done the same to me with 'Roller Coaster' as well.

So, I can't join multiplayer missions, but I could before. I have been beating my head against the wall about it for a while. Every time I try to join it says "Multiplayer Session Ended" I have rebooted, un and re-installed DRG, rebooted the router, port forwarded, turn UPnP off and on, turned off the firewall completely, disabled windows defender, and a bunch of in game things like hitting disband team even though i'm by myself. nothing seems to work.

Here's a discovery; Playing on Windows 10, connecting to a public network, multiplayer games are not possible; If you're the host, other players will lose connection in minutes after they arrive in the cave. If you try to join other games, you'll lose connection while loading into the cave; In both cases, the game functions properly and players can interact normally while still on the space rig. In the latter case, joining a game gives a "player has left the game" message as soon as an invite is accepted, but eventually loads into the host's spacerig anyway.

I've made a bug report about (5153) it but just in case there's something obvious I'm missing here: Randomly during mission my tab/shift (terrain scanner/sprint) will get disabled for a few moments, it seems to be independent of my keyboard/fullscreen settings. Holding tab down for a few seconds while not touching any other buttons temporarily fixes it in about 7/10 cases I'd say.

Not sure if this is a bug but I could use some guidance for if anyone has found a similar issue in DRG.

Ever since Season 1 dropped not too long ago, I've been having graphical issues every time I booted the game, and they've only gotten worse over time.

Now I'm not talking about a few weird lighting errors or something that is easily explained by a bad set up, I'm talking stuttering. Every few seconds, the game's frame rate, which can run buttery smooth at 120 fps in the space rig, will consistently have an ~1 second freeze every 3 or so seconds, making missions unplayable. The worst part is it's seemingly random, i can never predict when it will occur. During a swarm, it will run fine, but otherwise while simply exploring the frames will begin to dip.

Now I've tried a couple things to alleviate this:

1. Reinstall DRG - didn't work, still have problems
2. Change graphics to LOW everything, even if my PC is more than capable of running it on all ultra - Alleviates it temporarily, I assume because of effects and shadows? Regardless, not a permanent fix, and certainly not one I'm happy "sticking a band aid" on.

I'm getting desperate here, because I don't know why this is happening, and I know it's not my GPU that's causing the problem, because I used to be able to run the game pre-season 1 perfectly.

In case it matters, here's some relevant (what I think are relevant anyways) specs:

And there isn't really anything we can do about it. The game data is saved in YOUR Steam Cloud and is shared peer-to-peer. So anyone could modify their save.

But it defeats the purpose of progression and the fun that comes with it, so of course I'd advise against doing it 😄

Two members of my team were unable to use Iron Will last night on the final stage of the EDD. 3 playing on PC, one on Xbox. Full class spread with the driller being the Xbox player. It was during the final phase of Dorretta's drilling (we had to watch her finish as we were staring at the failure screen - it was that close). Our gunner had previously popped his Iron Will but Engy and driller had theirs and when they went down in the final stage neither could use it. Throwable items such as gunk seeds will get stuck inside steam vents in glacial strata. Attempting to recover them is impossible as the steam pushes the players up. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature though and I just wanted to bring it up.

It seems that insta-kill by heat only works from direct Heat or AoE Heat pulse from the CRISPR.

I've been trying to solve this minor problem the past 2-3 days while playing the game only for maybe a week or so.

For the past couple of days I have unable to play multiplayer of any kind on the game through PC GamePass. Alt tabbing in and out of the game breaks my sensitivity. The only way to fix it is to go to the graphics settings, change something, change it back to before, then click "apply settings". Upon alt tabbing again, sensitivity gets broken. Mouse input gets worse and worse the more I alt tab, to the point that there's almost a 500 ms delay when moving my mouse. Only this game seems to have this issue

I just downloaded Deep Rock on Steam a day ago and I've been trying to play with my friends. Good news, I think I've finally fixed the issue. Discord is to blame.

I turned off its hardware acceleration and suddenly all games that were getting shafted by DWM (DRG, Bloons, Tetr.io) now had DWM staying well below 2%, meaning no more frame drops. The beast is dead and discord was to blame.

The game is 3GB. You're seeing the uncompressed files. Frankly there's not a whole lot that can be done to minimize download sizes anymore than they already are. DRG is already an extremely tiny game. If you're that worried about your data cap, tell steam or windows to not allow downloads.

Yeah, I already have steam set to only download for 1 hour in the middle of the night when my computer is never on so I can manually choose what and when to download. (I could set it to only download upon pressing play, but then the games won't show up in the "has updates" list)

The thing is, I'm on Linux (Proton) and my buddy is on Windows. There is a discrepancy between when and how big the updates are. Sometimes I'm able to do this song and dance with my internet connections (switching between home Hotspot and phone Hotspot, and back and forth) and trick Steam into only downloading the actual update. (ie. 120 MB) But more often than not I just have to eat the 1GB download.

I get that it's probably out of GSG's hands to fix this issue, but so far DRG is the only game I have this problem with.

-Steam starts up the game, but proceeds to start me off as it usually would without any prompt to let me join the host; just solo, in the hub area.

• the message will display as loading indefinitely, will not start up the game, nor connect me to the host i wish to join even if I do have the game started already.

I'm not using an outdated or otherwise modded/bugged discord client, and i have game activity set to on, so discord should recognise me playing Deep Rock Galactic, which it does, considering i get the pop-up to stream it to the server that you usually get, and when I click on my profile I can see my status changing to playing the game.
My internet connection is not too weak or otherwise incapable of connecting me to another's device, as this does work with all other games i own (and has worked with DRG until recently.)

Encountered a bug in escort duty mission. Last phase laser-crystal was fully destroyed but the laser point kept flying in the air and shooting Doretta.

Killing either a Dreadnaught Lacerator or Arbalest seconds before they heal each other will make one of them invincible for about 1 minute and you have no choice but to run from an invincible boss until the game finally knows what's going on and allows you to kill it.

In that case it's probably vulkan shaders being recompiled. If you go into steam settings and shader pre-caching you can play around with the check boxes.

the odd thing is that it doesn't work for a really long time, and then it does out of nowhere. I was able to join a game just now but every other time it's indefinite loading, game has ended, or it starts me off in an empty lobby

It'll happen occasionally when opening and closing the mission navigation screen, not for long. Similar deal when pausing. Seems to trigger in solo during moments of high activity. And when it appears in multiplayer when it starts it keeps going, forcing me to quit. From what I've observed, something is causing it to under-utilize or stop utilizing the GPU at these moments.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX 2060 Super, 16 GB RAM.

It's really well optimized for most systems. But ever since I switched to my new rig--which ended up with an AMD 6900xt via Newegg Shuffle, it has been horrendous about crashes. Solo is a bit more stable, but I had to give up deep dives entirely since I was crashing on my team left and right and couldn't rejoin. It was never an issue on my old 1070/old gen i5 rig.

My steam copy has been having odd crashes lately, anytime i finish up a mission and call in the drop pod the game crashes, no error code, no log, nothing, then when I boot the game again it is pretty much stuck at 8fps and is basically unplayable, if i am not the host the game will run perfectly until the drop pod is called, regardless of type of mission or biome, game worked perfectly until about a week ago. I have tried everything I can think of in regards to verifying, redownloading, and other custom alterations that had no positive effect

Does anyone know anything about stuttering that might have been introduced with a DRM update awhile back? All the sudden my FPS are trash and have been for awhile now, and I get a stutter quite regularly. DX12 makes it worse. I have a 2080 Super and an Ryzen 3900x.

I have seen other people talking about this online, but was not aware of an update adding DRM to the game? Do the devs know about this potential performance hit? Because playing this game on exclusively low settings, when I only want 1440p/120hz is kinda crazy. I used to have solid frame rate with everything on high with that same resolution/hz. At the worst I would see dips down to 90fps , now it is in the 50's.

Just had an issue with the "Karl would be proud" achievement. Did a 7 aquarq point extraction mission; teammate and I finished in ~8:10, no downs (though it was very close) and no resupplies called. She got the achievement and I didn't. Is this a known bug?

Hi guys! I have quite irritating bug/glitch, game freezes at loading screen with "running Dwarf" and after it gets the biggest screen is black and game doesn't respond. FPS are there but only way to turn off the game is by using task manager. I even swaped PC to the new one (zero parts form the previous computer), new system win10 instead of win7 it doesnt seem to help in any way. Now i got AMD GPU and previous computer got NVIDIA.

It's an engine issue. It happens to one degree or another with every single UE4 game.

Instead of loading all the shaders when the game loads, UE4 prefers to stream them in as needed.

Reduces load times, but you get stuttering instead

Oh, Yes. Trying to play Escort Duty on Glacial Strata, first two crashes happened during the first blizzard and the third when the Drilldozer started the final part. No crash report was raised at any moment.

These crashes in Escort Duty are actually very common regardless the biome.
