Something that happens semi-frequently is that after I get the exp for a mission and begin to load back into the rig the game softlocks on me.
It doesn't affect much but I can see someone getting annoyed at having to close the game with task manager and re-open it.

Hey guys not totally sure if this is a bug but me and two friends did a mactera plague point extraction and instead of fewer ground bugs and more flying ones, we got what felt like triple the ground bugs with a bunch of flyers to boot. There was also another swarm every three to four minutes during that game. It was hazard three and there was at least one of us down at a time for most of the mission. Anybody else ever have one go that bad?

Point extraction spawns more swarms the longer you take in the level. Past 20 minutes it gets dramatically worse. This is intended as it is a pseudotimed mode

I get that and love it, but the swarms seemed like they were coming way too often, and by about the 30 minute mark there were seas of grunts. I was struggling to find a place to stand.
On a mactera plague mission it seemed odd

just had a salvage mission where we couldn't refuel we were standing in the zone but it would frequently stop charging even though everyone was in the zone
during the times it would stop charging i couldnt deal any damage
so we failed refuel and died

Well anyways, just wondering if anybody else had had that problem. I'll keep an eye out for more mactera plague point extraction points in case I can record it happening again.

@granite fractal Yeah, many more people complained the same exact scenario. Haz 3 and butt load of enemies. The deal with Point Extraction, and pretty much everybody else will repeat it, is that those mission types needs to be finished quick, especially within the range haz 3-5. The 20 minute mark is where it gets hectic, and have to finish asap. Will see if the devs will work on lower hazards

Batteries or the crate itself can sometimes be hidden pretty well, depending on the generated terrain. Especially in Glacial Strata, they can spawn inside black ice, or spawn inside terrain of Sandblasted.

Had an issue with graphical artifacting today on xbox. Sadly I didn't screenshot it as things were heating up in game. Both driller character models started to artifact/glitch so bad I could hardly see anything. I kicked both (got hate messages and a "I'll see you on reddit" threat") which seemed to fix the problem. I noticed it started right after I used my gunners shield and the artifacting only happened when I was looking at the driller players

I have a bug, I play DRG with my wife I host the game but we are in the same house... If she gets downed all her downs count on my stats. it says she has 0 downs and I have 10 ( I've been downed 1 time and her 9 ) so the downs are being combined and added to my stats... maybe its because we are both on the same IP

Greetings! It seems, like flamethrower still suffers from the skin bug, where no matter which one you have - during the reloading or "flexing", the gallon you're putting in, will still be a vanilla one. Sorry, if it has already been reported - the hotfix is already out, but the bug is still in, so i got scared :c

Mule would teleport when the 15 second mark hits and the gates of the Droppod also open. It's a failsafe the devs made in case Mule gets stuck.

Encountered a bug 3 times in a row on the steam version. Where a player would glitch in to the drop pod if a mactera grabber, grabbed them while exiting the pod.
The pod would not leave and the only option for fixing it was for the stuck player to exit the game.

I'm not sure if this is a common thing, but when I load in and try to get a group, i click join and nothing happens. I have to manual leave my group (just me) and it usually works. It also will not let me join with a few minutes left on the mission availability, but no warning is stated, just something I have observed.

I am trying to record DRG and all of my recording software has failed me, no matter what settings I turn down, OBS refuses to record this game, It gives me an encoding overloaded error which I get from time to time on high intensity games, turning down settings usually helps, but not in this case for some reason. I turned every setting to the lowest it possibly goes and it still gets rejected. Has anyone else had this problem with the game?

This happens from time to time and the cause varies. If someone is already interacting with him, no one else can interact. I believe there’s an issue where if you’re interacting with him and you exit through some menu combination you can break his interaction. If there’s beer on the bar then you also can’t interact. Building off that last one, sometimes late joiners can’t see the beer on the bar.

Hi there, just wanted to report an audio glitch I've been experiencing. Currently am using a headset plugged into a PS4 controller which is plugged in to my PC via USB and the sound balance/positional audio is way off. Many sounds will only come in via 1 channel only.

yes, we repaired it and collected it properly, and received the in-game notification of getting something for the driller (Custom Engineered i think) but it wasn't in the equipment mod station

And checked thoroughly through Driller's weapons of which one has it? Weird. Usually the common bug is you don't get a notification but still shows up in the weapon terminal. Maybe disband team to refresh lobby?

I did a quick search and havn't found anything and also not sure if it's a bug or just incorrectly implemented: We had an Ebonite Mutation (Pickaxe) event on a soft snow area. The host had no problem finding the glowing canisters it spits out but both clients (myself and another) could hardly find any. Only later did I see the travel arc of one which I kept looking at only to find that when it lands, it disappears into the soft snow and does not land on top, which explains why we could hardly find any. So TLDR:
Are Ebonite Mutation canisters supposed to land on top of the snow or not?

@pulsar parrot Disabling the Nvida Overlay didn't fix the problem, but now I'm not even getting to a crash log, the game just freezes and I have to close it via task manager.
It seems to happen randomly, sometimes the game will crash repeatedly after 1 minute, sometimes I can play for an hour or two.

Today's Special Drink doesn't reset with the 30 minutes mission rotation timer while you're in a mission.

I’m not 100% sure, but it sounds like you may be describing the texture bug that’s mainly prevalent on the Xbox and win store version of the game. A fix is on the way.
But devs are on vacation for 3 weeks so it’ll be a while.

This isn't really a bug or suggestion, but I want to make note of some grammatical oddities the Glyphid Warden entry in the Bestiary. Right now it says "The Glyphid Warden is a recent discovery, and is regal and terrifying entry in the ever expanding catalogue of Glyphid subspecies", which doesn't make a lot of sense. So I made a post earlier about my PC restarting itself at the end of a mission (or at the beginning during load) very infrequently/randomly/inconsistently.
It just happened again (end of mission in droppod going up, dense biozone, x2 exp exploder infestation), only this time after logging back in, and upon rejoining a game it appeared to forget my cloud save (all dwarves level 1). Thankfully I selected my current save to restore my progress, but still unsure why this happens and only in Deep Rock and no other games. I'm aware this sounds weird and very well may be localized to be but I just find that weird.
Edit: I also played a few rounds before this happened, and got my Driller from level 14-18, but when I went to select a save, the save where my Driller was 18 didn't exist, so I had to revert back to when I had started playing about an hour ago-ish. A minor setback, but I'm unsure how frequently DRG backs things up.

@vocal grove The game backs up the savefile after closing the game (progress game, in spacrig, close quit to desktop, and it starts a new backup and rewrites your original savefile also), I believe that's how it goes.
As far as random crashes because it forgot your cloud save, it seems to be a rare technical error with steam cloud and then game. This game is known to cause issues like this, and it's always best to keep separate folder with your backups just in case.
If it came with a crash log by chance, sending that report will help the devs check on it.

Are you able to abort the assignment? This is likely similar to the patched bug preventing completion of the conquer hoxxes assignment.
Devs are out on vacation so it’ll be a few weeks till they can look at it and issue a patch.

After playing on XB1 for over 100 hours, i just picked this up on Steam today. I turn on my bluetooth headphones, when i log in, plays fine. I finish a dive, AS SOON as i get back into my room, it 100% knocks out my headphones, To the point i have to shut down my comp and reboot to reconnect them. Anyone else having this issue?

Nope. That wasn't it. It knocks out the headphones, then it seems to block them from reconnecting all together. Even after i close the game, it looks like it completely blocks my headphones from pairing 100% until i reboot.

Still no sound of in game audio and mic? (Optional workaround)
- Right-click on the audio icon in the bottom-right tray.
- Select "Sounds" - on other versions of W10, search for "sounds" in the start menu and select "Change system sounds".
- You should be in the legacy audio options menu - select the "Recording" tab.
- That's it. Leave the Sounds window open specifically on the "Recording" tab in the background, the game should no longer stutters.

Bug on windows store version. My buddy will play engineer coop with me. Sometimes when he places his turrets it glitches and plays their dhootu sound effects very loud and much faster than normal. Withdrawing or moving turrets does not get rid of sound. Moving away from them it eventually can go away, but it still has a chance to come back. Finishing mission, restarting game always fix it.

Originally me and the gunner were in an on-going mission and when we reached 3 players, 2 extra people joined at the exact same time which is how this bug happened. The fellow miners followed us in the lobby and eventually in the next mission which is how the last 2 pictures were taken.

I have been having crashes extremely often while playing this game, started out occasional and it gets worse and worse every day. Most recent deep dive I just completed I crashed 10 times in one game (not exaggerating). I have tried verifying integrity of game files, updated drivers, updated windows, what else can I do to stop these crashes? It is completely ruining the game for me.

Oddity that occurred yesterday. I used Steam Friends option to "Join Game" of a friend of mine to launch and join him in DRG. I didn't get a chance to select my class when the launch timer showed and said 2, 1 and it started loading. We started the mission and it defaulted me as gunner. The odd bit is, he had chosen Solo mission. I was a second player in a Solo mission (not public, he checked). So, just letting you know, if a specific timing of an incredible rare event, you can 2 man (or more maybe) solo missions.

@pulsar parrot I was not, I was normal (online) status. Nothing special, I believe it was just a happenstance perfect timing. Figured it was worth sharing. It took our other 2 friends a few minutes before we found out that it was solo. It caused them to restart their games, disband, restart steam, etc before he mentioned it was a solo game 🙂

Had this bug happen yesterday while I was playing a public mission. Started the mission by myself, but had someone join in. as they were joining in, they (i assume) disconnected, but regardless of why it happened, they left. It was so fast between the join and the disconnect that when their individual drop pod came down, the sides came apart and there was no one inside. at this point, Bosco had already exploded, and I assume the game read my mission as still having someone else in the lobby, because Bosco did not respawn, which means no extra help, and most importantly, no revives. caused me to fail the mission because a Haz 5 with absolutely no one else is terribly hard, especially when you're not able to be revived.

Specifically for this game, it is always best to keep extra backups, since the devs are still having trouble with the savefiles, or Steam Cloud itself.

I some how managed to get grabbed into another dimension. It started as the normal grabber flying bug grabbed one of my team mates so I take the freeze gun and shot at it until it was frozen. After it let the player go and was fully frozen, I got gabbed and teleported here.

@mossy breach Oh if you mean turn off voice chat from other players, there should be an option for that in audio settings, no? If to turn off your voice, there is also a toggle mic option and check mic settings from steam if it's working as it should.

- Use a wired connection instead if playing on wireless.
- have not too many background applications running while playing.
- Lower the graphic settings in the game to where you actually see an improvement difference.

Audio settings obviously needs fixing, since most of them are break at random times. Kind of like Discord's volume setting, other people can have theirs very low or very high, sometimes can hear sometimes not at all. Hopefully devs get to it after their vacation.

DRG hosts P2P, that means your steam friends list is offline, probably a temporary hiccup in your region. This is a steam issue, non DRG issue. @halcyon lodge

Hi I got DRG on the Microsoft store recently but I'm having trouble playing with my friends. When I attempt to join their game via Xbox Console Companion App (for crossplay) it tries joining and then says "Multiplayer Session Ended". Maybe. I'm only getting these advices from other games that has the same log. Read one that said doing a clean install of the gpu drivers fixed the issue. It was a nvidia card though, but shouldn't matter for Radeon?

Could try. And can verify game files to get a fresh one and any other files outdated.
A reinstall can clean anything skipped or corrupted from past versions of updates, so everything will be new and clean.

So I'm streaming the game right now and I'm having this quiet audio popping during the entirety of my stream. I cannot find the cause, it doesn't seem to be a game setting and I can't find the cause in SLOBS. The game did not do this off stream. I'm also having the popping become EXTREME at times if there's an exceptionally huge horde. I have tried changing settings, graphics, etc and nothing seems to improve it.

So Frozen Mactera Grabbers can still grab you, and when they fall, they drag you into the ground 70m or so. Someone has to dig down to you and kill you to get you back, but when you are revived you are invisible except for your gun.

@hexed frigate Is disabling every audio device that wasn't being used during streaming one of the options you tried. There's probably interference between some of the audio devices.

Hello, just needed quick information on the second main weapon you unlock as a gunner.
I don't seem to be damaging my teammate, and they don't seem to complain when shot at with the said weapon.

@frail fossil check if you are both using the perk that reduces damage by 50%, if so that may be why, though I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to work
My friends and I noticed an issue where left/right clicking isn't always registering in game, so we will be trying to shoot or mine and can't because it's not registering the click. Only happens during DRG

@zinc lintel You respawn in the state that you left in, in this case, your character died before he was despawned when u disconnected, thus, when u respawned, you where dead.
The spawn pod was more or less a logic error, it just looks for an open area to spawn you in near another player which happened to be a very small space.

So I have a hell of a bug I wish I caught video of
I was fighting a mactera grabber in a cave I had just drilled on the way to the drop pod. It somehow happened that I had froze the grabber with my cryo cannon the instant that they grabbed me, (from my perspective I was being carried by frozen legs). Of course the grabber had to fall after being frozen, so it fell to the very bottom of the world with me in stow.
This was my view for the remaining 4 minutes of the game where I was stuck at the bottom of the world in the "grabbed" state, completely unable to move my character as my dwarf yelled about being grabbed by an imaginary mactera the entire time.

I'm having trouble getting left click to register holding it down. For instance, I'll try and zip with the scout, but it will act like I released the button a split second later, but I'm still holding it down. Same with attempting to power through items, or use auto guns.

Maybe it's not the game's fault, but your mouse? Had a problem once where left click sometimes didn't register no matter what you play. Just a thought, never had any bugs with the game like that

So that's a couple of things
It's mainly an issue on salvage. The machine event spawns too close to the drop pod and gets destroyed. That's intended behavior to prevent the machine event from blocking entry to the pod when it's time to go.
The other aspect is when it's destroyed, there are leftovers which remain.

@robust wagon that's one of the reasons i stopped using C4, the deployment (animation?) is just too inconsistent. still get this occasionally as well with the scout's grappling hook while falling a great distance and can't get the hook to deploy, resulting in death. i suspect it has something to do with low frame rate or animations being tied to frame rate, but that's just a guess. but i wonder if adjusting the polling rate of the mouse would have any effect. if you happen across a solution or clues to one, please don't hesitate to ping me - i'd be glad to know about it.

there's a (from what I can tell) visual glitch for the Big Bertha overclock with the tier 2 mod "Tighter Barrel Alignment on the Thunderhead. It'll show the crosshairs at the regular 70% the base overclock has, even though the OC + mod takes it to 50% base spread.
The image attached shows the crosshair at 50%, the one at 70% has the brackets much further apart. It's hard to repeat, since it seemingly happens at random, but I'd like to see if anyone else has it.

- tried the solution on steam about turning off ipv6 and running cmd

I've been having this issue for a while, and I know this isn't a connection issue because It happens on solo runs, but sometimes when I play, I have random periods where I can't interract with anything, I can't mine minerals, I can't do any damage to bugs , as every bullet and grenade phazes through everything and I also can walk through any (non enviromental) object like the drop pod, fuel injectors, resupply pods etc.
I'm really not sure what to do, because this can end runs very easily.
I love the game but its getting harder and harder to play

Cut the save files from that folder and place them in a folder on your desktop. A backup just in case. Relaunch the game then restore your cloud save. Exit the game then check that folder again.

So I found a bug earlier during a deep dive. Our gunner was on a zipline and we ordered resupply. The pod fell right on the gunner who was still on the line. He was litterally inside the pod. UI said that he was downed, but he could still shoot, just not jump off the line or move. We dug under the pod to try to get him out but he stayed stuck. Had to leave him there as we couldn't do anything to help.

yeah that only goes up when the dwarf level increases. If that's at 25 then he won't see his player level increase.

On the left is the dwarf (class) level. That caps out at 25 before you need to promote. On the right is the player level. Every 3 class levels equals 1 player level increase.
In this example I'll need 2 more class levels (any class will do) to complete the three ticks on the player level before it'll hit 330.

he's at the point where it takes a little longer to level up. He's in the ballpark of 1-2 missions per level. Once he's in the 20's it'll be closer to 3-5 normal missions.
So I'd just have him watch that progress bar on both his dwarf and player level. Make sure it's not an actual issue with his save file or something.

I had a similar bug to Eloyas on a zip line - I died while on it and somehow got stuck. After a little bit I could start shooting even though it said I was down. Team mates couldn't revive me. Had to sit there for the rest of the Elite Deep Dive.

While playing point extraction on hazard 3, massive amounts of swarms got spawned in with a maximum of 1 minute in between. My team wasn't able to finish one wave of before the next got spawned in. Played many point extractions before but good god we didn't even know what to shoot anymore xD

Hey guys need help, my game makes my pc restart during the loading (the page after the news page where you click continue). I cant find any error logs and looking at windows event viewer only shows a rebooted without cleanly shutting down error.
This suddenly happened after playing the game for 27hours and i didnt do any major changes prior.
I just tried to disable audio via [/script/engine.audiosettings] bDisableMasterEQ=True and have tried reinstalling my nvidia drivers (using a gtw 1070) and the issue still happens. Tried running some other games on my pc and it works fine. Anyone has any suggestions?

The game has a tendency to use a lot of GPU and CPU resources when starting and sitting in the space rig. It's possible that your system is overheating and shutting down to protect itself. I'd bring up your preferred hardware monitoring software and double check that it isn't overheating. Additionally you can modify GameUserSettings.ini in \steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and place FrameRateLimit=60.000000 in there somewhere.
If those don't work then see pinned messages and go through the steps there. @plucky grotto

Are you sure you've gone through the whole cave? Check your map. There's always more than the required amount of morkite spawned in. You may have gotten a funky dirt connection spawn, just check the map in the deepest cave you've gotten to.

I find that throwing anything in more than a 45 degree upwards direction is a bit.... wonky. The penalty for resisting gravity seems a bit harsh compared to horizontal throwing.

Bosco's digging AI is tricky sometimes. Marking at the center of the mineral vein, he would get the center, then each side at a time, or center and one side.
And comes to play how the mineral is placed. Overall, Bosco does a better job than most Scouts out there. Hopefully they can update both Bosco and Molly, with all these annoying bugs.

There is nothing, restore save just got added recently and does not work prior, no way to access the Xbox cloud for previous saves unless they keep wiping their current game info over and over to see if it will backtrack far enough. Cloud saves essentially get deleted over time on Xbox due to how it works, so you can blame them.

Is it a known issue that Loot Crates and Helmet Loot Rooms don't give the skin rewards to all players? I had my team member on my session open the crate himself, and claim the loot first before I did, he got the popup saying he claimed the reward, but it does not show up when he looks at his weapon skins - But it shows on mine

What you get depends on what you have already, could have been different than what he got. Basically there is a base loot that everyone will get if no one has it, if you have it already you get something else.

Because it says they get loot, they go back to the space rig, and despite the popup saying they got a reward, they have nothing in their equipment terminal

@livid galleon Voice chat has never worked for me either, pretty weird. It works in all the other UE4, UE3, Source Engine etc games I've tried but for some reason DRG doesn't work at all.
I can hear people, but DRG doesn't pick up my microphone

The most you can try is messing around with the audio mic settings from game and from Steam. If still nothing, check your Windows audio input and make sure it's the mic youre using.
But yeah, mic for this game hasn't gotten an update in a very long time. There was supposed to be a mic indicator at least to help out, but they decided not to put it..

OK, so i've read all i found about total makeover, but still cant get it. Bought all accesories under 10k for all the characters equipped all the characters with something new in the 10 slots. also bought dark future dlc to try that out. change all skins and paints for the weapons of every class, and change bosco to a non default skin paintjob, also change all pickaxe of the 12 slots for the characters, dont know what more to do

We have one friend in our group who has a totally different set of missions than us.
We can all see each other's assignment missions, but not his, and he can't see ours.
We've compared missions in biomes in the same time window, and all the missions are totally different.
(edit: fixed by resetting his date and time settings)

[Reproduction rate:] Every time I hit push to talk game freezes. This was not an issue until this week, I've played DRG regularly for last few weeks.
[Steps to reproduce:]
- Launch DRG
- Hit PTT key, game freezes for few seconds, every time whether in game or menus.
- Rebooted game, system, closed other applications(Discord etc) and it still happens every time
[Expected Results:]
I would hit my PTT key and talk to miners who hopefully are listening
[Actual results:]
I think voice still transmits but it's dangerous to trigger a freeze when in big trouble/danger

A quick disband team should refresh it, or it could be problems with the host's internet connection or the p2p server is bugging out at that moment. Is it frequent?

Idk if this is already known but when using the minigun, when you resupply, the percentage of ammo on the little screen will still read the amount before the resupply, and continue to use the old ammo percentage until you shoot

@compact marsh after posting the last pic here, went to the game tried randomly changing all accesories, then closed the game, reopen it and after like 10mins of being in the station alt tabbed doing nothing in the game, the achievement unlocked. so its totally random

The game isn't officially supported on linux so I wouldn't hold your breath about specific linux bugs being fixed. That being said, you can certainly leave it here so the devs are at least aware of it.

It's not a really a bug, I think it's because I run the Linux version of Discord. But I am unable to interact with the miner's union when playing the game on Proton, which I'd like to do as I've read they give some nice things. The game itself runs perfectly 🙂

@compact marsh The way it goes is running Discord and steam has to run as admin and not DRG. Not sure how it works with Linux. I have it as well, but havent gotten to messing around with.

From what I saw in the game files, DRG brings an RPC plugin for Discord, my guess was that because it's is basically Windows software, it's looking for the Windows version of Discord, which it will never find 🙂 Discord's docs suggest that it has to be compiled with the GameID to work, but there is a Linux native version of the library available (https://github.com/discord/discord-rpc)
Is there any alternative way to check on the Miner's unions?

@compact marsh Besides downloading Windows, not really lol. I know you could have it in a separate flash drive or in your desktop to switch back and forth Linux and Windows, but that's me assuming you have Windows version.
Only other thing, and it's one I dont think anyone has done before, that there is a dedicated channel for miner's union, but getting that channel is to connect from DRG and with Windows version. Don't know if there's a way to have the role and keep up with the news, or find some other crazy alternative for it.
Not much happens in that channel anyways.

I don't think its a bug as much as a feature yet to be implemented.
For example, say a leader for a group of 3 dwarves goes to the server menu and joins an open party with 1 dwarf on a mission, instead of bringing all three dwarves with, it only connects the leader of the party, essentially kicking the other 2 party members.

Oh I didn't mentioned towards you, that voice chat volume is buggy when fiddling around with it, plus steam mic settings could be something to check on it as well. Players can see and hear your mic indication in game or hear it in lobby, and the same way around
Not sure if voice chat slider setting affects your mic as well. I have a feeling it might, since overall it's not fully functional everytime

Steam mic settings should be fine, I've played other games with mic. I'll try setting my voice chat volume in that and in DRG though

You can try aborting the assignment and trying again. It's a known issue that was fixed a few weeks ago, but has crept back in. Devs are on vacation so it'll be a little while till it's resolved again.

@meager escarp no, that is as planned, you will get extra rewards at the end of the mission. And if you have a blank matrix core in your inventory, you can infuse it there with one of the many interesting possibilities (the thing you use to start the event is called the 'Core Infuser')
