Today i've had a strange bug where DRG will freeze up for 10-15 seconds and both my screens go black and then it returns and plays normally, this can happen 2-3 times every mission. I thought it was a RAM issue but I ran memtest86 and after 3 hours it passed all tests with flying colors. Please advice.

Welp, my save file is freaking out. My items are in a state of Schrodinger's Cat. I unlocked the M1000 Classic a few months ago and have loved playing with it. I also had a pickaxe customization I found on one of my first rounds with friends. However, all of that is gone, except not really. I can't equip my M1000 Classic anymore, and all of my pickaxe customizations are gone from my inventory, despite them being currently equipped. If I unequip the active pickaxe customization, it disappears, never letting me equip it again. Also, on the upgrade screen, it shows I don't have any upgrades for any guns - in fact, it shows I never unlocked the boomerang grenade. But when I load into a mission, I have the grenade and upgrades equipped. Is there any way to recover all my lost items? I suspect Steam Cloud is to blame as I recently got a Steam Deck and have been playing DRG back and forth on different machines.

Game will run fine on semi-h8gh quality everything, I'll get 70-80FPS, but after about 10 minutes it'll drop to 4-8FPS unexpectedly.
I've tried forcing Windows to use only the high performance GPU when running the game, but it doesn't work. Reducing game quality to ULQ level only increases FPS to about 15FPS.

It's only been an issue since about 2 weeks ago, after about a 3 week break from DRG. I've only tried to play twice since then, both ending with me closing out the game because this FPS drop makes the game unplayable.

Just finished a Dreadnaught mission where the Hiveguard refused to spawn any Sentinels for the longest time. We started the Higeguard first but ended up killing the other two Dreadnaughts before it while waiting for it to do anything other than wander around

This isn't a bug. Your resolution scale is 40% of 768p. You're effectively rendering the game less than 360p.

The wall was thin and we dug thorugh and driller did the rest i just have to ask, is this important enough to be reported? It was completely blocked off.

Funnier, a meteor landed right next to it, in a manner that if we hadn't found the pocket of air we wouldn't see the meteor.

I keep using the swarmer grenade as the engineer, and for every four grenades I throw only one works. I've ruled out it being because I've already thrown one, because it could be the first one of the mission.

This has happened during lower haz missions as well as haz 5, during deep dives and differemt sessions where I have been and not been the host. Sometimes I can throw all four grenades without a single one working.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but when it comes to signing into mod.io within the game using the steam browser, i cant sign in. I can goto the mod.io website, browse around, but when I click on the "log in" button, the only thing that happens is the background of the site changes from black to blue. there's no popup window for signing in. If I sign in using a regular browser like edge, everything works perfectly fine, its just in game. I contacted mod.io support about it already and they say they don't have any control over the in game api, and this is a ghost ship issue, so I'm hoping this can be resolved

I'm also able to keep my existing mods installed even though I'm not signed in somehow...I reloaded my computer maybe a month ago including my gaming drive so I had to redownload the mods of course, and I assume the game knew which ones I was subscribed to based on my steam account because it reinstalled each mod automatically even though I never signed into the mod.io account. I'm not really looking for new mods at the moment but I do have my own mod to manage that is on the site, and it's harder for me to administer my mod when I have to close or minimize my game and goto a regular browser in order to log in and make changes or reply to a comment

Me and a friend ran into a particularly troubling mission. I was getting one shot by the Glypid Dreadnought (it might've been that but it was an elimination mission so i could be wrong) and had the fun of a Nemesis appearing out of nowhere. We very much did not survive and right when we both went down, my friend understandably had enough of it and just shut the console down to relax.

This is where the bug happens because i was waiting for the mission end screen to appear so I can wrap up with the resources and then close the game. But we both play on Series X and it has a Quick Resume thing. i think it was still registering him in the game, but if it was normal, the end screen still should've popped up since we were both dead. i was waiting for a bit and it never did. so i had to hit the 'Leave Team' button to get out of it so i can go back to the hub. sadly that means i got no money or xp from it.
i am not too sure if this is something that can be fixed. but i still wanted to report it if it could be fixed. hopefully this is the right chat for this

While I have this game open if I move my mouse to one of the other screens it... slowly crawls back to the center monitor? Is there a thing I can unclick to make that stop?

Update. It only happens when I have an Xbox controller plugged in. On my left monitor, which is in the horizontal configuration, the mouse will slowly move back to the center monitor. On the right, which is in the vertical configuration, if I move the mouse higher than the top of the middle monitor, it will slowly move back down.

This, unfortunately, makes the game unplayable for me until I find a solution.

@grizzled topaz lots of game controllers (including my own) have issues that they can cause this to happen if the are dirty or have some mechanical error, you can try looking into that. I know one of my PS5 controllers have a weird touchpad, so it will constantly move the cursor unless i wipe the touchpad clean, but the issue will happen again when i close and reopen the game

it is also possible that it is due to a wrong configuration of your resolution, compared to your screen settting. Or a combination of the controller issue and setting. Also, drivers for the controller might play a part too

Absolutely. It was late last night when I finally got the game and started dabbling. I'll play with it some more tonight on different settings and see if I can make it stop.

I think resolution DOES have something to do with it as the mouse moves to the right until it is on the center monitor if I have it on my left (left and center monitors are identical in size and orientation) but on the right (vertical) the cursor will slowly move down until it is roughly where the top of the center monitor's top would align.

I think there is a bug with elite deep dives solo. Everytime I have a hold an area oobjective (blackbox thing) the game's ui says one out of 4 are on the objective, when I normally play solo it just shows one.

whenever i play haz 4 solo it never feels like I have the same amount of bugs as regular solo

this is the first time I've had this bug, and I am not running any mods that fundamentally/Cosmetically Change Bosco in any way.
He did not attack entities, hostile or neutral, he did not mine minerals or dirt, he did not pick up minerals (ie; Enor Pearls).
He did light up what he was directed to, and he did shoot rockets when asked. I went down via C4 to test whether reviving was broken as well, and whilst bosco did revive me, no animation played for the duration of the revive.

For Xbox console:I have this problem with not being able to disable nor access mic for in-game settings, thus making it constantly on and it's horrible for other players. All I see is just all volume regulations and disable copyright music on Sound options. I don't have a tv screen and I'm streaming Xbox to my laptop to which are connected my Sony xm4 headphones. I had to disable my mic on laptop in it's settings to not bother other players. Is it possible to fix it or the problem lies elsewhere?

who the hell uses mod.io in first place for mods lol i think its more a problem between Steam and external links in general.

well it's the only way to add mods and keep them up to date automatically, otherwise the game considers mods to be outdated and forces sandbox mode which disables achievements and everything.

But i tested your suggestion and it worked for me. I didnt think to goto the main page and click on "add mod" before. I even contacted mod.io before and they basically said it's an API issue that ghost ship needs to fix, it's nothing to do with mod.io directly

It's not a mod.io issue. As I said earlier I already contacted mod.io support and after talking to them back and forth about the details, they said this is not their issue because the site works just fine if you goto it directly. This is strictly an issue in game when trying to log in. So mod.io support said someone needs to contact GSG about the issue for them to fix. I dont know if it's truly a GSG issue or not, but mod.io says there's nothing wrong on their end

I can log into mod.io perfectly fine by clicking the "login" button from my browser. but in game it won't let me log in until someone else mentioned a workaround earlier here, and that workaround works for me also. but it's the only way to log in

This issue didn't exist before the recent game update either. I had recently reloaded my computer and noticed the game version is newer upon re-install than the version I used previously. I keep track of game version because I have a mod I created and manage

it's still possible it's a hardware issue causing the performance drops like something in the windows background that sometimes begins running and uses a considerable amount of system resources? windows updates love to devour resources... could be a hard drive issue... could be your internet connection. there's a lot that could cause a game to stutter and freeze momentarily

have you monitored your system resources in game with a 3rd party tool? something to show cpu usage and temps, gpu usage and temps, ram usage, hdd activity. etc. something may be causing a spike that maxes out your cpu or hdd for a split second

have you ran SFC and DISM in windows? sometimes some corrupt windows system files can cause issues in game. I've experienced similar issues in other games and found corrupt files and those 2 commands fixed windows and my games played fine afterwards. sometimes my issue was the gpu drivers

Question - So a visual bug with the beard Physics involved with ANY mod installation. This seems to affect only Wardrobe, Forge, and Reward Screen? That would be a mod issue if youre sure youre actually experiencing visual issues. I dont see any issues from those 2 photos with the beard. but as you said you have 2 cosmetic mods installed and youre experiencing cosmetic issues so that would imply a mod is broken. if you experience the same thing with zero mods activated then its a game issue. given the recent game update, it's possible mods are partially broken. or different mods work separately just fine but together cause conflicts that break things

@steady pollen I saw you post on the bug forum, and it was equally as unhelpful. So let me just clarify, just install any mod, ANY mod, and then check your wardrobe, you will notice it not working. I have also uninstalled the mod, the purposes of these screen shots was mainly to show off the beards and moustaches that would be clearly affected, as you can see with the side burns and the moustache bangles that are CLEARLY not showing out. The only fix currently is to unsubscribe and go pure vanilla. Disabling the mod will not end the issue either, it has to be a full unsubscribe.

Here I even put the Dwarf in Red hair to help illustrate my point. In an unmodded file.

yes i can see that difference now, but as you said this only happens when you install mods. developers don't offer support for modded games because there could be so many things that could go wrong when you modify a game. thats why you received the reply from GSG on the pleasefix website that you won't receive support for a modded game, especially when you have said everything is fine with zero mods installed.

I have wierd and rather unstable lags.

One server, im lagging, but just enough. Every action takes a few milliseconds (compared to no time at all when host) to initiate and that's fine.

Sometimes, despite all the lag, my pickaxe can be raised and sheathed as if im the host (since if you know, on pings around 100-200 it takes a few extra milliseconds) but jumping in unstable and doesn't properly register sometimes. Considering this game mostly consists of jumping in caves, i gets annoying.

Sometimes, jumping register but sprinting very rarely forgets to start. Almost unnoticeable.

Sometimes when using hook with scout it takes to properly register and send me there. Making me think I've fallen down but then returns me.

Every diffrent instance of weird lags, almost all happen when the game is showing me pings of 100-200 i swear once i had 400 ping and game was damn playable almost unnoticeable lag.

How is this possible? Am i just crying in the rain where this has been reported thousands of times before?

Yes. I know how to manually remove directory files. And yes, as you can see if it was modded, there would be turqoise lettering on the lower left to say "Modded" I think it's a game issue.

I've had the same issue, someone else recently mentioned a workaround that seems to take care of it. When you click manage mods to goto the mod.io page in-game, instead of clicking the login button, click on "add mod" next to the game name on the main page. it'll take you to the login page from there, and then you can browse mods. But at least for me I have to log back in every time I restart the game if i need to make any changes to mods.

Alternatively, you can goto mod.io from any browser, where the login function does work normally and you can sub or unsub from mods there

I opened a ticket already on the "pleasefix" support page for this issue. If you have an account then contribute to the ticket so we can get it confirmed and work towards the devs fixing the broken integration system

been resetting my save on a promotion (not my account's first) for the past 2 hours with an average of 1-2 minutes per reset and I've gotten overclocks for every primary weapon in the game save for the plasma carbine. is it actually in the drop pool?

edit: after going through the list of weapons I also received a minimum of 1 OC for each of the secondaries as well, so it's specifically the plasma carbine that seems to be affected. I started a couple of weeks ago and have less than 10 OCs in all.

I got disconnected from a mission right at the end, which is always a bummer but I usually don't mind too much, however this time I lost an overclock from an event because of the disconnect so I am quite frustrated. @slender depot laptops are typically made with chips that are much lower power than a desktop PC, even if it carries the same model name. Your i5-7300HQ is a dead giveaway for this

like at most a laptop will only ever draw 80-120W (and destroy your battery in the process within a year), where most desktop PC's sip 400-600+ regularly

But like Pounce said it's probably a hardware issue with your specific laptop. Twice I've had two HP laptops with issues with the RAM controller. I'm starting to think this is also potentially power related between both of our cases.

If you haven't already, update your drivers from your laptop manufacturer's website. No guarantee of it fixing your issue, but you can probably bring it up in a support ticket to the manufacturer.

I live in the Czech Republic, but the game thinks I'm from a distant region, so it shows any servers, even from within the Czech Republic, as "Far," and not only does it show as far, but the ping is also very high, making it impossible to play. Update to the low FPS issue I've been having... I figured out the issue for anyone who's having similar issues.

It was my NVIDIA GeForce Experience program itself. Not sure if it downloaded improperly, or if it was the built in performance "optimization". After uninstalling, reinstalling and declining the in-game optimization feature that pops up when you first start it up, the FPS issue ended.
If anyone else is having this issue, that might be a fix to try.
I stress that you must uninstall & Reinstall the program called NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Do not delete your graphics card -w-'

My duo partner and I have been speedrunning this week's DD and would find that not every run Dottie was going full speed. also uh here's my issue I do infact have some verified mods installed but I dont think any of them does this bug: right after you call for the drop pod on the mule if you place a beacon just before the drop pod lands the beacon never goes away until the end of match. Like for example while the mule is going to your beacon and the drop pod lands it will automatically go to the drop pod instead of your beacon and because the mule is heading for the drop pod the beacon never gets cleared so it stays there until the end of match

if you are saying that the cable is not connecting, that is because of the platform. Rock crackers destroy almost no terrain when placed, so when a friendly engi puts platform to stop fire damage, it actually prevents you from connecting the cable. So just break the platform near the input. Happened to me one time, figured the solution on the fly.

I fixed my issue - I needed to run the UE4 pre-req package that's in the Deep Rock Galactic folder in the steam directory on my PC. It looks like there was a DLL that wasn't installing with the game package. Once I did that, worked like a charm

@storm tendon So I turned off all my mods and the tape disappeared. And it seems it is from the miracle mod manager, at least, it's there again if I have that mod on, even if it's the only mod on. I still couldn't find any use for it though. It really looked like it would have been something from season 4 and I only had cosmetic mods on which don't typically add too many random things, so I thought it was an actual bug with the base game and it was something similar to the smol meteor (change me) from a while back. Should I remove the report I made last night on pleasefix.gg then? Sorry about that. And sorry about ping if I'm not supposed to do that, I just wanted to let you know.

Hey there. Sometimes the game registers you as in a lobby that you aren't anymore. Try opening the escape menu and pushing "disband team" then invite. If that does not work, exit the game and verify game files through steam and restart and try again

During the dev stream this afternoon, there was a discussion about the two rockpox meteorite events (big and small) happening within seconds of each other, but there was no evidence or timer. I just had it happen to me and managed to record it. There was about 55 seconds between the two announcements. First the big one, then the small ones

Having a problem for ~2 weeks, keep getting the "Waiting for Steam to load" screen. I'm definitely connected to Steam. Has survived multiple reboots. On Linux Mint 20.3. Even verifying game files and deleting and re-installing doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts?

There is a crash opening the settings menu if, for some reason, GetDisplayModeList returns nothing. This happens in the very rare case of silent chipset driver corruption where the GPU driver is unable to report resolution and display modes, but is still able to provide 3D acceleration.

I fixed the driver corruption on my end when this occurred so I'm not going to be able to replicate this issue.

Go to Equipment Terminal > Have a loadout selected > Switch loadout to a different one with a different armor paintjob and/or type > When you R&S, your armor paintjob and/or type does not change from your POV until you go enter either Cosmetic Terminal or enter Equipment Terminal again

It's pretty minor, but would probably trip me up a bunch if not for me having different pickaxes for loadout (cause I usually r&s to check my loadout before a mission)

(This bug does not happen on the cosmetic terminal)

did a bit of testing, going into season terminal also fixes this bug

KPI terminal, mission selection, mineral trade, and deep dive does not fix it

promotion terminal and shop also fixes it

going into equipment terminal and switching loadouts (as opposed to just going in and out) also has the bug occur but this time swapped between loadouts (see 2 loadouts with pickaxes correct but armor wrong above)

this bug also only occurs in the station and fixes its self when you go on mission; and as far as i'm aware is only visible to the POV player and not to any other players around you

I may be wrong on this second part but I never did testing on that

oh, you know what, it actually affects your entire player (screenshots taken 5 seconds apart, loadout "A" selected above with reproduction steps the same)

So more accurately, cosmetics are not changed when switching loadouts, only equipment

Here’s a bug I’m betting everyone on console are experiencing. A random Black Bar that comes across your screen whether in any directions. Sometimes when I start a solo mission, the speech that the dwarf always speaks when he is landing in the drop pod is replaced by the speech of another class. I always play with Gunner and I'm totally sure sometimes the voice that I hear isn't from gunner, but from engineer or scout.

Leveled up the forge thing on the rig, and picked the overclock to get (it was a beard this time for anyone curious)

Went to exit, and it just wouldn't let me. Kept refreshing the overclocks I could make.

Only to find out anytime i try and join a session,lobby or game it just fails and puts me back in my own lobby. I tried verifying the game, i tried restarting my pc, i tried uninstalling the game.
