you can get it done by a human
you could message GSG Jenny about it with your Steam ID
she can link your discord manually
id like to apologize for being such a big baby about the price because of some insane miscommunication wit the people on my end, ive actually been supposed to have enough to safely get the games ive wanted this whole time and rogue core later, i will not talk about the price again until the game comes out, thank you for your patience
I don't think it's that deep but it's fine bro
That's pretty official
who sent a reclaimer to this persons house
no its a genuine apology, because of a genuine mishap im communication I was supposed to get an extra $25 a couple weeks ago so I got it now and its enough to still be in the green for rogue core
I was about to joke again but nevermind
glad you got the money
see you down there on the 20th
What about blue core
everything in my life has been leading up to this point
rouge core releasing will be the apex
rogue whatever the fuck
i woke up like 30 minutes ago
🥀
I've been counting the days
the hours, minutes
seconds even
I'm happy you're excited what about it
Is so appealing
Rogue core tomorrow
time for some Waitmate
Why does going melee locks you in some kind of animation limiting your mobility
Imagine future missions the Reclaimers gets Dreadnought missions but the ones we fight have been fully developed
The eggs naturally hatched
It's a scary thought, the dreadnoughts we fight are in the eggs for a reason
And us cracking the eggs early means we've interrupted their evolution
We're only fighting dreadnoughts at their developing stage
Imagine a fully developed dreadnoughts where usual equipment our miners use are simply not enough and justifies sending the Reclaimers
well I'd imagine there's a good reason nobody fights them when they're fully grown
probably because they're nigh unstoppable
but I'd imagine DRG has had to before
I wanna see a Fully developed dreadnoughts in Rogue core
I think the reclaimers have the equipment to fight it although hard
Would also make sense, since the Reclaimers have military-grade equipment.
I'd also like to see them but I'd imagine they're like
absolutely colossal
like entire cave sized beings I'd imagine
Imagine things like
"Alright Reclaimers you've been sent here to destroy a fully developed Dreadnought class Glyphid"
Imagine your mission is to find the dreadnought eggs and finds one but destroyed, no signs of dwarf activity but there are holes left behind by the dreadnoughtss
i just dunno how you'd manage a boss like that
if the hiveguard we fight in DRG were fully developed I don't know how you'd deal with it
or even what it'd look like
hell nah I don't get paid enough for that shi
Boss the size of rig 17
i wonder what would happen if the rogue core dwarves met the drg dwarves
staredown scene from zoolander
drinking and bragging
god
i fking hope they do something with the egg physics on elevators in the excavation event
i just predrilled all of em before starting the wave, put them on elevator just for all of em to glitching with the elevator and they all launched in all directions after the elevator stopped lmao
the geodes? yh they bounce off a lot
ye im skipping this event
first time they just bounce everytime i launch the platform
I do it if there's not a swarm Geode, if there is I go untill I get the XP one then leave the rest
But u can only identify if theres swarm geode if u launch it right?
is all my rogue core data supposed to be reset
by accident yh, the esc menu has a save list you can get your save from
Honestly I feel like rogue core might surpass DRG for me at this point, seeing the base game is starting to run stale for me
I like DRG more but I've been playing it for years so I'm enjoying RC a lot more
For me the build variety has been getting stale, seeing I "solved" the game a long time ago
Game still really fun regardless
Yeah that looked very bad to me from the start, surprised they haven't done something about it yet
Is there a thread for pointing out bugs and what not? Nothing serious just a text using characters from a different language (mid sentence) in Omega's speech at the bar.

also cooper is just fking lost when u order to mine the eggs out lol
it just digs straight forward
You have access to the alpha testing channels, look there
Another alpha tester could show the appropriate channels
Ok, thanks for pointing the way!
my driller main friend CANNOT know that the driller primaries aren't in rogue core
tell em theres still c4
Aren't drillers primaries just thrown together war crimes that the engineer helped in concern
But fr, idk if the driller primaries would work in the context of rogue core
And a pistol that underwent 70 surgeries but it's still the drillers pistol at heart
lark?
Currently they don't because of the new elemental system
Yh
It's the Subarta technically
i found the splash dmg fun for the first time
I am torn between the slicer or falconer for my first few runs. Which do yall think I should pick?
Slicer, he can trimp
Can also cancel fall dmg with the dash which is nice
also really strong melee skill so u can take some melee upgrades and just profit
do u like slicing or falconing more?
I have not played yet because I never got into the alpha. I have been watching several videos on the game and me and my friends can't wait for the game to launch.
does anyone know how long it typically takes to be accepted to the playtest?
rng , most likely today was the last wave of invites so
if u didnt get in gotta wait for EA
Still a bad and overly basic weapon in a sea of bangers
The devs tried with at the time experimental feature of ppl that got invited could just invite friends but had some issues with it or whatever so they didnt use it
Lark is so good, the +50% weakpoint damage it has is amazing
Yeah but if I had to choose between subuta and literally any other gun I choose the latter.
meanwhile mm4 with barely any interesting upgrades
💀
Lark or the devestator
it does like 2K damage, fills the niche of high damage gun
Lark or hamerhead
Bruh
hamercaster?
Oh yeh sorry
auto correct xd
I just like the hammercaster a lot sru
I don't like the hamercaster much, the armour pierce doesn't help me and the max ammo is a bit low
I also dislike the aiming reticule it has but that's mostly preference
Yeah more useful guns in the game. I just like the idea of firing comically large shells at things
So I don't care
But devastator pistol is either meh or fucking broken
they're still usable but a lot more niche
Here's hoping for a buff
Any images on what the supporter pack looks like yet?
No
if you have the alpha you can see a video #discussion-rc-alpha message
it looks very good though, one of the best pickaxe skins and funny bonuses
Sorry if this has been asked thousands of times already, but has there been any update on the price of rouge?
More weakpoint damage is always a good choice
Any steam deck users here? How is your experience? Performance doesn’t feel good to me whatsoever. Tbh I haven’t changed the device framecap so could be that? But I hope it gets some optimisation like drg did. That game rocks ( and stones..) on deck
Damn. No luck, guess it's release day for me
I can't find any servers
And if I do I get black screen trying to join and have to restart the game
BTW, will the progress be wiped on release?
Yep
Dang
is there new types of damage in rc that isnt in deep rock
Will there be season pass like DRG does
yes, and everything interacts with each other in much more dynamic ways
hopefully never
two new base effects, poison and acid
its no longer just exclusively fire damage and ice damage that interact
But it make motivation thou, without them it like there is no motivation feeling
DRG already had that before seasons tbh
i thought acid damage was already in base drg
and the idea that DRG benefitted in the long run from seasonal updates is... debatable
crossbow
@jaunty sparrow https://imgur.com/a/c3OsPWJ
it is, but it didn't interact with anything else and was exclusively to 1-2 weapons
it definitely benefited in the long run
though the marketing of the whole idea was the issue
are these actually from the game?
im in the game rn bruh
awesome, thanks
until season 5, most seasonal updates were content that oversaturated everything, disappeared once the update was over, and often pushed for specific methods of engagement. And content was almost exclusively season-related, too.
Seasons 5 and 6 stopped doing this and, as a result, are the most well received seasons since the whole thing started by far, but even then not everyone likes them
np
marketing was/is definitely not the only issue with seasons
100
can someone with image perms repost this image?
#discussion-rc-alpha message
to show how complex the new elemental system is
or the relevant reclaimers handbook page, since thats probably more accurate now
hm
there you go
that's a WIP chart though, it's probably a bit different now
Should I play the play test again or just wait for the release at this point :p
Looks like alchemy chart for no mans sky
so ik the price is meant to be 23-30 i heard but is there any more specifics yet? it would suck if its 30 for me because i would be short like a dollar
no specifics yet
is there a more accurate price than what i said?
alright thank you
A kidney
And half eyeball
would it go towards the LOK-I?
new halloween weapon skin
weird that theres no mention of the elemental system in any of the marketing
what's weird about that ?
marketing is about the spectacle, not the intricate game systems
i havent seen anything on the elemental changes since im ignoring spoilers but usually elemental systems arent a selling point for anyone besides people who played their previous game, which i have a feeling they are looking for some new members
and i have a feeling doing marketing for specifically people who played DRG or survivor are already gonna buy rogue core regardless of what they show
being able to mix match elements like that seems really cool tho(unless its just like, status effects)
alright imma get out of here lol, dont want to see spoilers
my life coach only told me to get RC then charged me $300
And?
valuable advice
is this basically drg with more combat?
It doesnt play like DRG at all its it own thing
who wants an epic leak about rogue core
you've asked for it for years, you've wanted it for years
rogue core has water in the game world
its not like, pools of water or anything
that was never going to happen
but yo can find valves in the world that, when broken, spit out water with enough power to cover an entire room
Silverback is hands down the best starting weapon
We even got a heavy weapons crate and I refused to take any because it was that good
I also got a perk that turns 1% of damage into ammo and forgot about resups because headshots were crazy
There are better
I guess I haven't seen them yet
You can discover them for yourself
it's very good but I think there's better
this is what a wizard spell combination chart look like
what
are you still able to send a friend an invite to the game
damn that sucks
it was really buggy so it got removed

No
What is the difference between depths
Like missions can have different hazards on the same depth
So what is a depth then
They felt the same ngl
Depth is Hazard
the haz symbol is used for complexity which is how hard it is to traverse the cave
Depth changes a lot to do with enemy stats and how many there are
I see
Is the hardest depth hard
Painful seeing so many invites going out and still not getting in...5 days to go...
Depends on player skill level
4 is a lot harder than 3 that's for sure
d4 is harder than haz5 fs
Is there something like god runs
sorta
closest thing is prob like 0cd retcon
but even on powerful runs things can go south real quick
game crashed upon reaching level 4 😜
did they do another wave today or somethin?
From what ive seen its been a slow trickle up towards release
I could be wrong tho
and they also said that the previous one was propably the last one since the EA launch is so close
so does each mission start at haz 1 and then go to haz 5?
is it like haz 5
I made new nice suggestion on dedicated channel. What's you guys think about it?
There's Depth 1-4 you can chose that work as hazards but missions also become harder the further you get
Depends on the player and build honestly, depth 4 is generally harder than Haz 5 but it's not 1:1
Games too different and has too many builds and play styles to just say yes or no
I like the idea but I think having them separate works well, both groups work for DRG but their jobs are totally different and they have different goals and priorities. I think reference could be cool for holiday events but idk on full traversal between the space rig and ramrod
is deep dive fun?
hey folks i think i found a typo on Rogue Core's steam page
who should i tell/where do i go to tell someone
Under system reqs the minimum ram is 8 gigabytes, whilst recommended says 8 megabytes
which 8mb is ofc a lot smaller than 8gb
oh i see the report typos tab under QA, nvm
is going to have cross play, between xbox and pc?
Not at EA launch but maybe later
Crossplay is very unlikely to be coming. Only way to crossplay between PC and Xbox will probably be the microsoft store version of Rogue Core, but then you won't be able to play with steam players from what I've heard. It probably will be the same as DRG
I believe there is a "Suggestion-discussion" channel ideal for your question ...
Nvm my PC cant run Doom 2016
Gotta save up for Rogue Core then
For the people that played the playtest, has it been confirmed if the early access release will be different to the playtest?
New changes/features?
I think the EA release will have some changes and bugfixes compared to Closed Alpha
Does Rogue Core have any static enemies
Stuff akin to Spitball Infectors or Scalebrambles
Besides Cave Leeches, I know Rogue Core has those.
Theres a spawner of mobs thats static and also something like kinda septic spreader but on ceiling
got it, thanks
other than that nothing much
edgewalkers kinda act like ranged stationary until you shoot at them then they reposition
Those are the tall ones that look like tesla towers with legs right
ye
I think I need to learn how the enemies work in this game
I did all of one run ever and actually won it, but I feel like that was just beginner's luck
I think there will be some minor changes
but they might put those in before early access
Also the cave leech is still in Rogue Core
other than that I don't think there's any major content coming
<@&296918282403840000> sorry to be a bother but seems im not able to join the ||exclusive playtest channel||
are you getting error 403
yes
DM GSG Jenny your Steam ID so she can link your discord manually #rogue-core-chat message
why did all my progress in rogue core reset
accidental wipe that came with the update, you might be able to recover your progress from the save menu in the settings
that question made me think, is there any enemy like the Cave Leecher and the Pit Jaws in Rogue Core?(besides the two obv)
I love trolling misogynists in the new rogue core trailers yt comments
From enemies tht can grab you and kill theres 2
reaperworm and cave leech
they're like the meme of the japanese soldier who kept fighting ww2 29 years after it ended
k how about u take that to twitter tho
ye but this aint place for that shit tho
Will players get discount for Rouge Core if they own DRG :?
pay the toll
Havent heard about any discount on EA launch
They did put 25% discount on Early access DRG during summer sale and thatwas like 4-5 months after the EA released so maybe we can expect some discount next month on summer sale? But thats just guessing
Rogue core tomorrow (5 days)
im rogueing my core rn
No
Not for specifically owning DRG
And since it's EA there probably won't be a bundle or anything
Devs said they'll try to set up "finish your collection" for DRG and RC
So technically yes
There will also be a Supporter DLC right from Day 1
Rogue core tomorrow
"one day" ok so in 4 days
Rogue Core in 4 tomorrows
deltarune chapter 5 is going to come out the hour before, making steam totally unusable
and none of you can buy it
I am going to change RC release date so I can say rogue core tomorrow until I get bored
Does rogue core have like a new hub and everything? And in the trailer there was like a weight lifting mechanic so does that make the game roguelite? (Not to be confused with roguelike)
yes
weight lifting mechanic is how you get beer in RC
it's not fancy, game changing beer, just normal stuff
How many glyphid dreadnoughts would it take to kill a single reclaimer (no weapons, no arms, no legs, no brains, no abilities)
0, they'd probably be dead lmao
How much roguelite is in the game then? Coz I’m not the biggest roguelike fan
100 because they would just kill dreadnoughts with their aura
Wrong reply
I NEED to tell you
Just watch a video of the gameplay to find out, or dev streams
And silksong dlc
And gta 6 surprise pc release before the console release
And subnautica 2... no wait
i do hope they are going to release the ost on the EA launch day
when? 20 of May?
Most likely
The DRG ost was released on early access
And we were teased #rogue-core-chat message
i did not know that but i cant wait to hear the full ost i have only heard a bit of it and ofc core stone theme
Yeah that will come with the RC ost
It's in the game
We will finally get a name for it
It has been Core Stone theme for so long
In both DRG and Rogue Core, it's internal name is Rift
Notably it was composed for DRG first
When the closed alpha first launched, it used the version from season 5
yeah the core stone theme does have 3 versions of it
My hype for rogue core has been completely shattered by reddit, I can't stop seeing people be extremely negative towards the game and saying that the game shouldn't exist in the first place. Is it really THAT flawed?
Mostly just reddit but it certainly has an uphill battle
Nah
It's definitely not release-ready when it comes to the amount of content, but it has potential
Like it probably shouldn't be dropping this soon if the Alpha is actually what it's gonna be dropping with, but it could get there
You answered your own question by mentioning reddit
The complaints people have range from "yeah it's actually an early access game that'll definitely improve" to "nothing in this game is good in the slightest. Every design choice works against itself and base DRG is so much better in every single regard and Ghost Ship should burn this game"
It's releasing in EA because it has basics down, but not a lot of content
Which is about 80% of EAs
Have people considered that RC is NOT DRG?
Not... not Electronic Arts
If you want RC to be DRG just play DRG
I've genuinely seen people suggest this game be abandoned and forgotten and ghost ship should only work on drg and that 3 years was a waste when they could've added so much
Insanity
They would complain about the main game instead ngl
Yeah
It's like 75% of the way to what should be the EA release, it should at least drop with all 5 bosses, and the fact there's less than 10 mission modifiers is kinda crazy
Every run feels basically the same, and that's the game's biggest flaw currently
and call it bad, ass and other other things
Yeah that's a problem i have seen too, there is no alternative exit and the objective is always the same + the things you do in a level are often the same stuff but there are stuff to make it more interesting and less repetitive.
A lot of people are just not happy that RC "leeched life" out of DRG
Certainly in a better state than if it had launched in EA last year
Yeah that's part of the actual valid criticism I've seen, but I feel like other people have criticism purely because they believe they deserve updates for drg
It's a very strange way of treating devs where you think they should only work on this one game
Eh, it can get fixed with content and not something hard to do, just time consuming
Genuine comments I've seen:
It's a shame that after spending three years developing Rogue Core, this is the best they could come up with. When I think about how amazing the game could have been if they'd spent that time on DRG instead, it's really disappointing. I don't think it's worth developing Rogue Core to the point of outsourcing DRG updates to another company.
Absolutely agreed. Rogue Core should really be completely abandoned and they need to refocus their efforts on DRG.
Insane
DRG is already being basically carried by the MCR dev at this point anyways
The main game devs can do whatever the hell they want lmao
I wonder how these people would react to og drg
And the outsourcing updates thing is so strange because. Seasons 5 and 6 were great and were released during rogue core development so I'm kind of confused as to what you want from updates if not two of the best seasons
Season 5 was GSG in which time rogue core was put on hold can't focus on the 2 projects at once and get good results
Yeah fair, but still season 6 is great
I'm a tad newer so I don't know firsthand but from what I heard people weren't fans of season 3 and 4
4 was a bit a mess(I believe they were working on RC in the background at that point)
4 definitely suffered from being around a while this was prior to a season selection toggle
RC will likely benefit quite a bit over its EA period(18-24 months) tho
they did add the remove event stuff thing during the November patch
which did help quite a bit considering people did not like the rockpox
November 2023 i think
They have escaped seasons sharing the same theme for 2 seasons atleast
Ideally RC just won't go under a season model
if RC will get seasons it will only be after 1.0
probably not
but i do want them to do something else for RC instead of seasons cuz thats DRG thing
I don't know the budget of these things but hopefully the game will be successful enough to support long term development
Does anyone know if there will be more content in early access vs current closed beta? Or is what we have now identical to EA release?
They already prepared a DLC possibility (saw the button in the game). But I did not heard of seasonal stuff, only that for class could come.
I assume they are just looking to patch up all the many bugs before release, polish it up and whatnot
That is what they annouced.
i think it will have the same amount of content right now will stay the same for EA launch, the devs have been fixing bugs, typos and removing placeholders for a bit now
is there still placeholder stuff in the game, like the expenite gems
even the narrated trailer had the placeholder model
Good move : fix what you have, not risking to increase technical debts out of control
Chaos move : Turn on class duplication right on launch
On the Rig it is logic to see regular miners
Wasn’t there a whole ass new boss in the new trailer?
no
nope
So the 4 legged rock thing was already in the game?
They got another in staging though
yeah it was added this year not sure when
but i did hear that there was a 4th boss in the files of the game
yeah i never saw anything about it and only heard that it was super unfinished and was only possible to fight if you had the cheat menu and choose it from there as the boss of the level
You’re not gonna guess what wilk just said
the fourth boss you can only fight through the cheat terminal
ah didn't see that part

they probably haven't worked on the 4th that much since alpha 6 was polishing focused
the other bosses have gotten better from what I saw
The 3rd boss is the big shark thingy?
yeah i managed to find a video about the 4th boss and its really unfinished and i doubt its making it into EA
but it appeared to be a stationary boss similar to the caretaker
the 3th boss is walking fortress
What’s the second then?
ah alright
I don’t think they did, I have seen it when it was quite unfinished though
2nd one is the flying shark and the first one is the weird 4 legged thing
i think the best looking one is Molaktula it just looks so weird and cool at the same time
I’m a fan of big rock fortress
and its nice that they made them unique so they specialize in certain types of attacks
I probably like gotoorak the most but it's animations are a little bit weird some times
molaktula looks menacing af though, very cool
To be fair all of them have really cool designs
yeah the walking on walls thing is a bit odd for something that big
The 3rd boss was actually the second boss super early in the closed alpha iirc saw alot of changes from then tho
I also feel like Gotoorak's steps should make more sound. Like a spider maybe. The dreadnoughts had it, the dwarves also have it. A boss that size should have it too. IDK if it makes any sound
Boss 3 has the privilege of looking like metagross
Uhm ackshyually the resonance cascade proved to have caused some effects in hoxxes ☝️🤓

It was ackshyually proved in many scientific and biological papers that the one free dwarf pushed the xen creatures (xen probably being some kind of mispronunciation of hoxxian) deep into the core when he came onto the planet
The corespawn actually make more by sticking employees and wild life into more corespawn by putting them in cocoons which slowly changes the genetic data
Those were actually super duper hyper mega magical nuts that granted the """xen""" fauna the ability to rogue the """xen""" core
That's why the rift gates are actually just very special, upgraded versions of whatever crystals black mesa was using for testing
It all links back to the rafkan being the original founders of the com🅱️ine and conquering hoxxes v and vi
Molaktula? Yeah, it's finished and it's the best boss out of 3 available
It was actually the second boss we got to see the early bits of I think
Hey all, how can I change haz difficulty in Rogue Core? All current areas are Haz 4, and I'm finding it way too hard as a solo.
You select depth on the right side
Although I thought you would be locked at depth 1 if you hadn't done the Intel objectives
funny thing the 2nd boss Ramok actually was showcased On the state of Rogue Core in 2024, it used to be a regular enemy called Rafkan Rammer and it still looks pretty similar whit some colors changes and ofc size
It's not difficulty, it's length. How many rooms there are in the level. If you just started you are at Depth 1, the lowest difficulty
In terms of actually testing a boss molaktula it was before feesh
Although you could probably barely compare current molaktula to its prototype
Oh really? Damn this game is hard so far then since I'm only on depth 1 💀
Depth 1 actually was made a bit easier recently
But the difficulty is intended will definitely take time to get a good handle on how the core spawn move around and such
You went on reddit, that's your mistake. I love DRG, have played it for 1,8k hours, last 100h in S6. But if you start analysing the game you can see it's framework is quite limiting. There is only certain combination of objectives you can think of and what you can do with them. There is only a certain number of weapon archetypes you can make and OC that make a real difference. RC doesn't have those limits, you can go wild with weapons that are just guns and don't fit 4 classes of DRG. You can add abilities, you can add bosses, you can add events. RC offers much better framework for what devs can do with it. Most negative comments that you can see circling around have been answered by the devs in their videos or during streams.
Puts a lot of pressure on you, doesn't it? You need to move fast and know what you are doing. Without it you will easily fall into the red times and fail the mission quite quickly
People on instagram, youtube and twitter are much more positive from what I've seen
I'm more so finding it fairly overwhelming with the amount of enemies, sometimes lack of ammo (got to the boss, down to his last health bar and ran out of ammo...) especially when near the elevator. Will try play some more and hopefully get better! Does this game have scaling difficulty, since I am solo?
As a continuation- only thing that DRG can offer now is new OC but that requires a lot of creativity, new biomes and new cosmetics. Outside of that I don't think there's more to it.
Yeah difficulty scales with more players
Yes, game scales with amount of players abut also with your progress down the level. To offset that you have upgrades. Note that enhancements and bio boosters play a major role in this game.
From testing I found that "more ammo" enhancements are a bit of a trap. On average they don't do much outside of taking space of other, more useful ones. It's much better to pick enhancements that boost your weakpoint damage, power attack cooldown and steady aim
You also can't forget ressuplier - on tier IV it gives you 70% of your total ammo on restock and reloads your weapons. It's one of the major enchancements that makes a lot of difference.
You can also skip pretty much enhancements that boost your health and armour - you can boost them yourself in mission with upgrades
Cushion is nice to have increases the distance you can fall before the slow down feeds you to the mob
That's good, I got my hype from the expectation and also watching YouTube videos recently so it was kinda sad having that kinda ruined by people on reddit absolutely despising it.
We kinda focus on negative comments when looking through reactions and overlook all the excited people
Yeah, best to watch some of the @uncut folio videos or @north dome gameplay, their videos encapsulate quite well what you gonna get on Day 1 or early access
Jonto was the one I watched lol, love his stuff
There's also @sick narwhal , he also make good videos
“””””people””””” on Reddit more often than not have really bad opinions
The DRG sub is usually chill I wasn't expecting this amount of hate towards rogue core there, sad honestly
I remember watching DRG from a world of warships streamer in 2021, the game looked so fun I bought it myself, and it got soo much content after that. I'm sure Rogue Core will improve just as much.
People will complain about everything and anything
I just hope there’s more biomes
As biomes and cave gen in deep rock is something I enjoy a LOT
RC is still in closed alpha it has a long way to go from here. That being said it does have some problems but the game has a solid foundation to work from.
ossuary depths will prob get added to RC after EA
The only really valid points I've seen are diversity in the game, stuff like biomes and things to do.
The rest of the points are bullshit I choose to ignore cause what do you mean every single mechanic in the game works against each other
Cave gen is definitely important right now. As for biomes, I would like the existing ones improved for now. I would be excited for new ones too
I would love to see some other biomes rather than the ones we have in the base game
I mean, I wouldn’t complain if we got glacial strata and sandblasted corridors
also biome specific facilities would be sick
Like different designs depending on which biome you’re in
those are already in RC
RC does have a biome that's not in DRG and i think its the core biome which you enter after going down a few levels, but i really hope we get a biome that looks similar to those very old first teaser images from RC whit the Green and Blue biome
I’ve heard that it’s a bit bland right now
Then I’m happy
Is hollow bough in rc?
Thing with biomes work a bit differently in RC. Each facility gets more and more corrupted deeper you go. The starting biome changes to the core biome on the last two levels of the mission. I'd argue that game needs more fantastical elements of said biome like those gigantic expenite crystals that we could've seen during the announcement
well it is dark and gritty similar to ossuary depths which makes since but i bet some new formations and plants and some other stuff will be added there too
All 9 base biomes are in RC, except ossuary depths
this ye
I sure hope so
I hope theres gonna be some more meta progression maybe something like weapon masteries from survivor the more you use certain weapon you unlock ability to perma upgrade it, some maybe RNG manipulation like in all roguelikes rerolling upgrade choices etc, but well see ig
Would be quite cool
And alt abilities later down the line would be sick too
i hope they are going to add new Heavy Weapons to RC since the current ones are from DRG ofc after EA launch
Like slicer instead of having his plasma sword would get a big ass plasma hammer
Give Slicer more melees
That’s what I’m saying
Imagine Slicer gets like a sword and shield like melee
Or a spear
or, hear me out, gauntlets
i tried bonker like goofy combo yesterday
Slicer Trimping should stay in Rogue Core
had a perk that reduces th power attack cdr on pickaxe after every melee hit on enemy so i would spam drill and bonk them with hammer
but it sucked ass maybe as guardian it would work better
any predictions on what the 6th class be like?
Give Slicer a chainsaw-like weapon
Maybe like a Combat engineer
I honestly have no clue
As I was NOT expecting to get protea from Warframe as a class
oh u mean the falconer ability
I think people will be making 5 player lobby mods
and prob will make a mod that makes it possible to play multiple of the same class
Isn't an option from the host ?
you can't stack the same class
It does sound interesting however, knowing GSG, the abilities will probably stay as they are. They gonna focus on adding other abilities, different from the ones we have.
No, devs want to treat RC as "hero shooter" where everyone is different
Hopefully slicer can get like a chainsaw weapon
As in completely changing the core ability to not be in a similar category?
Like slicer getting a non melee ability?
I think they won't introduce variations of eg. slicer ability like hammer or spear
I don't want each class to be a jack of all trades but having abilities and weaknesses makes the class unique
I would love some kind of fist weapon, but it probably ain’t happening
Slicer will stay the way he is and they will add just more bio booster decks
give slicer different blades
So far they said nothing about classes having some negatives - main gameplay loop revolves around just getting stronger. The only elements giving you negatives are artifacts such as glass cannon. Increases all damage you deal by 150% but you loose 90% health.
Like DRG, each class have their own weakness when it comes to completing objectives
sometimes you gotta adapt
Well you adapting the whole run in RC
there's three things you have to adapt to in RC, how do I do the end level event without dying? How do I deal with swarms? How Do I kill the boss?
True that, in DRG you can prepare extensively before the mission. In RC preparation is done on the go. You choose which weapon you pick and upgrades you take.
In solo especially you need to figure out what u want prioritize more
especially once u hit complexity 2-3 facilities
you gotta adapt and take different approaches in objective with the class and equipment you have
Same in RC
lets say you dont get drills at all in the weaponry at the beginning of the facility and u gt excavation event
do i spent so much time mining all the fossils out by pickaxe an risk the endless swarm at the end or do i skip it?
Yeah, same here. You just lean more into either crow control or single target. Or you upgrade you ability. There's more choices to be made.
also knowing who should get said upgrades
sometimes such upgrades just works 10 times better in let's say a melee class
You can become a sed sugar printer, you can stun lock enemies, you can just mop enemies with fire build or just go with big crits
or be a human bait with Retcon's ability or kill two birds with one stone by using her ability
aka doing two task after the other in short amount of time
My god Retcon might be the most appealling class for me
god my hand is itching to play Rogue Core
Just 5 days left
can't may 20 come any sooner?
Meanwhile me farming merits rn so ican play slicer at depth 4
That is one of the strategies with retcon. There are certain upgrades that after you receive 50 health damage you deal a lot of AOE damage around you. Damage and AOE stack so you can clear hodes by just standing there. And you will fill rage meter quicker
You can knock yourself out everyday and it’ll come sooner
who would want to work in this facility https://imgur.com/a/0820Z0C
So as I was saying - I don't think devs will introduce "alternative" abilities for the classes we already have. Guardian can do two thing with his ability but that's about it. Other classes will stay the same. But that's just guessing based on what they did in DRG. I might be wrong.
Retcon can clutch heal, Guardian can do the Gunner shield heal strat
Falcon can heal from afar
it does has fairly long cdr but she can
it def will be used a lot in pubs cause the corespawns can overwhelm ppl fairly quickly
huge clutch tbh
she can be a game changer even if all her teammates are down
just need to prioritize who to save first
Mind you, ranged enemies are a threat to guardian when he's reviving
Of the problem is no more when you get gunner's bubble shield
the funny walking ranged enemies with glowing tips
idk i njoy slicer the most has some free benefits from upgrades cause of his melee abiity and also the movement ability
i hope they dont patch how it interacts with slopes etc
They need to keep Slicer Trimping
Slicer is made for Demoknight mains
i havent played demoknight ever
i just grow up playing cs 1.6 and all valve games so i enjoy any movement techs like that
i did spent quite some time of soldier rocket jumping tho
DRG can we have pgl fat boy?
we got pgl fat boy at home
pgl fat boy at home: https://imgur.com/a/RB4G9oY
That's rad bro
Same
There's a second hand
I'm going to open both DRG and Rogue Core and play them on 2 monitors
And I will have Survivor open on my phone
It's going to look like those chinese bot farms
Min max XP grinding
Rogue core tomorrow
"If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself"
Time to become all 4 players
Is progress getting wiped when the game launches into early access? #
I know there can be a case for "git gud" and all, but sadly I think I'll have to pass on Rogue Core for now. I've done a number of runs, and whilst at times it's been fun, I find even at the lowest difficulty I am overwhelmed by enemies, lack of ammo and feel too rushed (which I do understand they want a faster-paced experience) and sadly for me it's just more of a frustrating experience than fun right now. I'll be sure to keep an eye out on the game and how it progresses, I appreciate being able to try the alpha, cheers!
Yes it will be wiped once early access begins
transforms into driller
king of literally everything, everywhere, all the time
ROGUE CORE TOMORROW
We gotta get solarlight on slicer stat
bro will somehow optimize the movement even further
have you played the most recent update? they made D1 and 2 easier
Yeah, I just jumped off. I have an alright time getting to the boss, but at that stage I'm just overwhelmed with enemies and running out of ammo. It's probably just not for me sadly, but as said I'll follow the development and see how it goes 🙂
What is "health regen threshold"?
ah fairs
the max hp you will passively regenerate to when low
A bit confused, isn't it still 5 days? The playtest is here and I bet most got an invitation... but a bit too late. Game is so close and would rather have a completely fresh experience for it.
Is this version of the game that we are playing rn, the same as the one well be playing in 5 days?
Honestly no clue, but would be interested too. All I know is that all progress will be reset and it's technically not the same even if everything stays the same
would at very least expect small changes based on testing/feedback
its a joke thats been going on in this chat for months
search "rogue core tomorrow" in the discord search bar and you'll see
oh lol
ppl have been making that joke as old as 2023
holy shit has it really been 3 years?
haven't checked the chat recently, so the game coming out so soon made it look more serious than a joke haha
argh embeds be damned
Is the game going to be paid when it comes in 5 days? Or is it just a fully public playtest?
Ok, so from that point on, our progress will be permanent i assume.
check the pins if you want to see the price (in the USA)
yeah it will be permanent
rogue core tommorow
yea. Don't think DRG ever got progress reset even when they made changes to some systems
they said it wont be reset once its in early access
before that it was just a beta so like, its fair tbh
The good old days of DRG where basic enemy varity was grunts and elite grunts 😂 (no slasher/guard yet)
Holy... it has been quite while since DRG first launched. 15 February 2019 when first purchased. They've come a long way
i made the mistake of watching a little bit of gameplay on youtube and now im literally dying of anticipation again
the female dwarf voice actor is great though i've never actually heard their lines before
yh, more or less
Female dwarves are definitely something that were requested for a long time, but unfortunately the 4 character for first game were locked in and would have required retconning to fit them in (or break the balance of 4 classes). No issue with that for DRG:Rogue core since it's a fresh new game
after hearing like two voice lines it already felt like they were just always there
i have a tiny personal issue with omega's voice effects though, it feels like there's a low layer missing in there
makes longer lines and enunciated words sound a little bit grating which could get annoying when you hear them for the 50th time
yeah we will probably get more characters down the road in rogue core
cuz the design doesnt rely on the 4 classes being present
I haven’t seen any mention of this in the various announcements, but I’d like to know whether the game will be released on Xbox on release and whether it will be cross-platform at launch with Steam version or like DRG like now
this is still early acces so playstaystion def not
- No crossplatform
- Unknown if it will release on xbox - nor when it will
- Playstation is a no-no until out of EA
because Sony doesn't want to
simple as
Sony push down many restrictions for games to be available on their store
honestly, I think that would be a great way to give more reasons to return to play plenty more... but as long as they don't go overboard. 5 is a good start, but if we eventually end up with 10 I would say that is too many
Do we know the release timing? Like at what daytime Rogue Core will release into EA?
6pm CET as said on the Steam announcement
nice! thanks!
Testing: <t:1779292800:R>
Just askin does everyone lose their progress each time they open up the playtest?
That the correct time? can anyone say if it's at least in correct language automatically?
Testing: <t:1779292800:F>
that should be 6pm CET in everyone's own timezone
yep
Hey so does this happen to everyone?
@lyric sapphire they're going to change the wording of the Falconer upgrade next patch btw
they agreed it was confusing
good to hear it
You meant Rogue Core tomorrow, surely
I hope its 20 usd, I'm screwed if it's more
Rog cork tomorrow
Does the new wave of invites still let you invite a friend? Because a friend of mine did get in.
Playing with team is much better experience, game is generally build around it.
it will be a different title. what we have access to is Rogue Core Playtest
I had the opposite
i realized that i was never the target audience of DRG difficulty if the devs said in the RC alpha that first runs are supposed to be hard and i was supposed to most likely fail
is it a bug that my progress resets each time i launch the game?
bug
glyphid?
i thought it was normal till someone told me it wasnt lol
glyphids in my rogue core?
been playing for like a month
yeah each time i launch it does
I'm wondering if you happened to open it every time there was a reset and it's purely coincidental or it that actually happened as a bug and you opened the game a lot.
its happened over 4 times
have to watch the intro and do the tutorial each time too
how much time passed between each opening ?
Sounds like a bug and not coincidence then
the folder holding the save files is likely on "read only" and windows is not letting you "modify" it when saving the game - and thus there is no saving
on the bright side, Early Access is coming in 5 days, so no more reset after that
yeah hopefully it doesnt happen when it comes out lol
if it happens, it'll be easy to fix
yeah thank you for responding

Hello, I wanted to know: Will the progress I made on my account during the alpha tests be reset when the game is released on May 20th?
yes
okay thanks
Rogue Core tomorrow in 4 days
GIEV ROUGE CORN NOW!
rog cor tomrow
are there triple hp alterations in RC?
Havent seen one yet and theres a directive objective or whatever you call it in the terminal that you get merkit for completing to complete facility with triple hp alteration
Guess the mission terminal got updated but not the directive terminal then
for a second i overthinked it and though it meant
double hp alternation+ the risk factor with double hp lmao
the alteration used to be 3X health and XP but it was too annoying from what I've heard
considering 3X XP isn't 3X upgrades it makes sense
Btw I just realized something after I saw a comment about the narrated trailer. They didn't go into Retcons ability at all and made it look like a basic repositioning ability. The ammo/health/armor/grenade replenishing part was completely skipped, which left someone confused because it looked underwhelming.
Oh lawd it's coming https://youtu.be/iNRxk_gh-NA?is=0X_87KKBLWP0rWIe
They are teasing the soundtrack
yh the strongest part of her ability is the ammo save
IVE BEEN BEGGING for ROUGE core PLAYTEST accessfor YEARS and I NEVER GOT IT. i have1000 HOURS in DRG. WTF MAN
playtime does not matter for the RNG chances from being picked up
Are trawlers in rogue core? I feel like I've seen them but maybe its a different kind of enemy
The nayaka trawlers?
yea
I don't think so. They said the only returning enemy are cave leeches
there's no returning enemies from DRG, except for cave leeches (and I guess Corespawn Crawlers)
well and stabber vines
hell yeah stabber vines
stabber vines are more of a biome hazard
they dont have an hp bar so i dont think they count as an enemy proper
well technically they do its just hidden
True true
rogue core in 4 tomorrows
Rogue core tommorow
My core will Rogue tomorrow
i hope rogue core is gonna get a beastmaster class at some point with domesticated glyphids and other critters from hoxxes. would be super cool.
Oh, so the Deep Rock's Core Stone fight theme ended up in RC's soundtrack bundle after all
-# or it was a track made for RC and added to DRG in the first place
For what in know there will not be glyphids
as enemies. obviously. thats not what im saying though
Oh so taking your own ones
ye
Thats neat
But not bugs allowed in the space rig so i don't know
or a tamed steeve with armour
exactly
theyre not on the space rig thoooo so lemme cope
maybe the Ramrod has different rules (There is a 0% chance OMEGA is letting anything on his ship)
Thats the reason we get the eggs
being mission control gotta be the most mentally tasking job
I hope so
nah that guy at mission control has a cozy job
he has to put up with the Dwarves
cozy although the moment you get attatched to your co-workers and they got killed maybe multiple close calls it's bound to be mentally taxxing
In lore most Dwarves die before they reach promotion
imagine being mission control for the reclaimers with a likely higher fatality rate
Mission Control seems to not be assigned to us first based on his promotion Voice lines
Did the chicken or the egg come first type situation
the voicelines for the infection season mission were crazy. hearing MC like that made me feel bad
great voicework
lorewise mission control wouldn't be able to communicate with the reclaimers after they pass the barrier
it's not the matter of doing a job, it's the matter of stopping a deadly virus from spreading further in the planet
and mission control doesn't care that much about the miners dying, "the drop pod will leave with or without you"
The real question is. If the reason they have OMEGA is that they can't communicate with MC once they're past the gray barrier, why isn't MC the 5th class?
Then he could just go with them, ez
there are already 5 classes in RC
he very clearly did care when we were down there cleaning up the infection and he announced that we lost several more teams while we were sucesfull.
imagine Mission control could also be working alongside Omega
its a joke my guy... im saying he shouldve been the 5th...
character development over the seasons I guess
serving as like Dwarf to dwarf communication before they lose comms with him leaving them only with omega
he was also kinda worried during the tutorial if u remember those voicelines
mostly about his job, but a lil about the dwarf
bro my little cousin got invited to the closed playtest today and she cant even run it 🥹
At least i ran the game on my pc with her account for a bit
It's been 950 hours...
imagine your new employee died day one
him saying it was good knowing ya have fun dying did not sound very worrying tbh
i always thought the with or without you was just a pointed joke to get the dwarves to speed along.
it's likely in the lore he guided many dwaves but they got killed before being promoted, having to see death 50-50 times
50 dwarves succeeding but at the same time 50 dwarves not making it past
yh same, I doubt he'd actually leave us behind
On second thought, yeah he does care a lot
some of his promotion voice lines made me tear up back in the day
Anyone who played the game can tell me how long do missions take? Is it about the same as DRG?
It's longer than DRG, people said the time can change from 45 to 75 minutes
you do have the choice to pick shorter missions
The timer for each stage is 10 mins
And its like 5-6 stages each mission
So about an hour
timer takes longer than 10 sometimes
did anybody else also recieve a playtest invite today? my cousin got one outta nowhere
I think the last one was on saturday/sunday depending on time zones
there was an update today though
weird
worst part is she cant even run it so she cant even test if she wanted to
at least she gave her account to me for a bit so i can mess around at least
lowkey wished it was on my own account though
progress gets wiped anyways
thought so
I did not get a playtest invite today sadly
There wasn't a wave today
What are chat's estimates for the first day player count
2 snails and a squirrel
I have no idea for day 1 but I do expect it to pass 50k in the first week
how so? my cousin got in an email today
Are you sure it was today and not yesterday?
Nvm, timezones
Might be today for some of you
No, wait. It was 1.5 days ago, there is no way
yeah was about to say
last wave went out like 40 hours ago
doesn't matter tho, happy for your cousin
My first guess would be the email getting delayed somehow
¯_(ツ)_/¯
itll prolly be like 20k-35k the first week, it is early access after all
funny hearing that after i just forgot to get to droppod in drg survivor and lost entire run lmao
💀
mission control would absolutely leave u behind wtf
Omega would probably just build you a new body and tell you to get to work
though then again when we fail a mission our bodies do get recovered, so idk, drg is weird
If steamdb charts are accurate, DRG Survivor had an all time high of 56k players on it's early access release date which was the 12th Febuary 2024 I guess. A much larger part of the DRG player base will be interested in GSGs own spin-off, which makes me believe RC will pass 50k. Hopefully the game reaches enough people so that RC can take the spotlight, like Far Far West and Subnautica 2 did (though on a smaller scale probably).
idk if theres much overlap between the survivor and the regular drg fanbases is there? autoshooters or whatever theyre called are their own thing
I wasn't interested in survivor for a while even though I like DRG a lot, game play was a lot different
there's some overlap but DRG:S has built its own community
unrelated to rc but I simply don't understand the appeal of those kinds of games, but they got their fans and thats that, i just don't know how many DRGS players would be interested in a game like RC lol
Idk how many Survivor fans even played DRG, the audience is very varied
RC looks like it'' appeal to a lot more DRG fans since it's a first person shooter even if the gameplay loop is different
I think RC would appeal a lot to the ffw crowd though rc on paper looks a lot more difficult than ffw is. Otherwise I can't really think of other games like it. Left 4 Dead maybe?
RC will probably appeal to risk of rain 2 players
A lot of my friends never played DRG and are interested in RC since it's a fps rogue lite
DRG is closer to L4D. RC is more like Gunfire Reborn.
yeah i usually refer to deep rock galatic as a left 4 dead style game imo , and rogue core is still close enough to those feels
never heard of it 😔
risk of rain 2 players?
they like a lot of Rogue lites
that's fine
basically a roguelite with co-op
ah
tbh to me rogue core is just risk of rain but designed for co op and not just with co op shoed in
I was making the l4d comparison because L4D campaigns are pretty similar in that you build your weaponry throughout the campaign which is multiple levels strung together
yeah gunfire reborn is fairly good callout for how rogue core is
i was to risk of rain 2 cuz its a also a roguelite shooter (third person tho) where you upgrade during stages and fight a major boss type stage at the end
just with less upgrades and weapon swaps and relics etc
hovever i like that upgrades are "teamwide"
as in everyone gets them at roughly the same rate
and you cant really hoard all of them
I still kinda worry that the upgrade screens will cause toxicity but at the same time the order apparently rotates every time you get an upgrade so you cant really complain if youre fourth in line and don't get anything good, cause you'll be first in line the next upgrade
btw to anyone who actually got to play
are all upgrades like straight buffs or are there some with downsides
if you're 4th in line you'll be 3rd in line next but yh it does rotate
Artifacts have downsides
i mean its the drg community so im hopefull
regular upgrades are buffs
oh, wack, i figured it would be the other way around because going 4th to 1st feels better than going 4th to 3rd lol
+according to ppl who actually got to play the playtest toxicity was low
We don't have that many people though
it means first goes to 4th rather than 1st going to second though
true
at the end of the day if u cant carry the game with zero upgrades its a SKILL issue
all the bio boosters and workbenches is personal anyways
And I've def had a few weirdos
i atleast hope there will be like 10 seconds before u can lock in choices so random lobbies will actually discuss
There isn't
nah
oh
instapick
yeah high difficulties will probably eithier be toxic or played by premade groups only
I find Depth 4 has the least toxic players
since anyone up there is good and knows the basics
i mean yeah true]
the highest difficulties always got the least toxic players smh
same with haz 5 in drg
Haz 5+ and haz 1/2 was chill
haz 4 is the trenches and haz 5 is chill
H4 was the worst
what i find usually in games is the most toxic difs are the middle of the pack ones
yh
bc ppl there are good enough to be toxic but not good enough to actually win lmao
xd yh
they think theyre good enough*
My favourite quote I heard for multiplayer is "the only constant in your games is you"
such a good line to use
tbh im good enough in most co op games i play to win the highest diffs solo
i just play with teammates cuz like
i bought the game to play with ppl lol
true
also the feeling of helping a new player (in any co op) clear high diff missions for the first time is like drugs for me
Helping new players is harder in RC but still doable
coop is more fun than solo because solo has steep downsides with every class in drg that can be filled by the other classes, but solo in RC is probably nicer because you can just address your downsides as you progress through the mission
i mean i still think solo drg is easier than duo drg
imo bosco is worth 2 teammates
I never realized how much shit bosco did until I disabled him
man is a goat at trash clearing
same for RC
@boreal plume what the hell bro where did you get RC ost
not even that
i mean he can trivialize like 80% of objectives
There's an OST preview on the GSG channel
ore collecting, providing light, freezing breeders, targeting stationaries, his electricity is fuckin nice against rival tech
ore collecting is so huge for bosco lmao
its such a pita with most classes when you dont have him
ty
Cryo Rockets are so broken
also free electricity applying lol
theres a reasons bulks in solo are easy to deal with
Stun is strong
It's on youtube
No forgiving you now
oh wow the ost can now be whistlisted on steam
and we finally know the name of the core stone theme, The Core Has Gone Rogue
I think the core might've gone rogue in this spin off
absolute fucking peak
the best music isn't even on the youtube post
and Everybody Fights Nobody Quits theme is so fucking good
Plunge To Perdition is also so good
so many of these soundtracks are 🔥
I like them all so much but wish specter station got a little bit more love
oh the pre alpha teaser song Cosmic Nest
i love how the names of these songs are somewhat similar to the DRG ost names
Fire in the Hole is also a banger
yep
and Attack of the Corespawns was the EA release date trailer music
trying to find the closed alpha gameplay trailer soundtrack
i didnt notice that they change the steam cover art
yeah they did
so peak
they also added soundtrack to the DLC section
oh man i bet the soundtrack is gonna be banging
yeah you can listen parts of it at the steam page
i think every song has a part there its not the full version of it but some parts of them are there
This one is either not in the soundtrack or it's a part from one of them that's not shown off in the video
will there be a separate lfg in this discord for rc or both combined into the same one
rc and drg
this server will be drg + rc
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
nooooo
I liked that one sooo much, made me watch that trailer multiple times. I think that trailer was one of GSGs best, sad to hear the music was cut
make a fan made reconstruction
but the soundtrack is a banger nonetheless
I wouldn't mind a volume 2 at somepoint but whats present is very nice
DRG had 2.1 volumes I think
Journey of the prospector counts as being in volume 2 sometimes
damn this soundtrack is a bop
personally i think RC soundtrack is even better than DRG'S
anvil of ascension is PEAK
like 90% of the soundtracks are peak
there are a few that dont hit as much but they still fit the theme of the game
The new dude making music is really good
Rogue core less than a week away. Yahoo
The Core Has Gone Rogue, Everybody Fights Nobody Quits, Plunge To Perdition, Cosmic Nest are bangers
The closer we get to the date the longer time becomes
??? where are you getting these names, only 3 tracks from the soundtrack were in the video
did the full thing get released early??
if you go to the rogue core steam page there is a page for the soundtrack and you can listen parts of the soundtrack there
they are not the full versions but even the small parts of them are absolute 🔥
oh also Ram! and Fire In The Hole are bangers too
wait oh my god
the closed alpha trailer music really isn't here???
what the fuck that is actually so disappointing
nah, it got removed
sad day
i think ive heard that soundtrack somewhere on youtube
but still sad that it did not make the cut
i do hope they are going to add it in the future
yeah theres been an incomplete old upload on youtube for months now
hello
did all our progress get wiped
yes, every new playtest round does that unfortunately
piss
