I actually really love the fact that you get grenades at the start along with new weapons at weapon benches. Though I wish there where more options for a second gun and to just remove cave leeches from the game

Yeah, for anybody that hasn't played DRG before, it isn't self explanatory. Maybe that's the gimmick: force players into exploring and learning for themselves. But unlocking those clearances thru the mission select screen was not inuitive. Just needs a lot of UX polish, in general

I've said this a thousand times already, but I hope they delay to January. I'll write more about this in an hour or so, as I'm on the road and don't have consistent signal, but I feel there are currently 3 major issues that need to have a solution before this launches into early access

All we know that the requests are in the hundreds of thousands, but each wave is only a couple thousand each

Here are the 3 major issues:

1. Disconnecting/crashing. Specifically, rejoining a game you have disconnected or crashed from. Obviously this is a given, they arent going to release a game in a state where you can ever lose an entire run through zero fault of your own, with no way to rejoin. But so far its a really bad issue.

2. Late joining. If you looked at the server browser at any time during the recent update, you will see at least 10+ lobbies being ran solo at minimum, because they don't want to wait for players. While a solution is obviously hard, ANYTHING is better than most players doing exclusively solo runs.

3. Waiting for upgrades

Now, this is one I actually disagree with. By the time people play difficulties where waiting becomes genuinely dangerous, they will have learnt to not wait around.

High level play (literally anything where the timer matters, so not even that high level) involves never waiting on one single upgrade, unless it just so happens that everyone naturally stops for a workbench/booster/terminal/elevator/armor/ammo. Most people have learnt that they need to bank their upgrades at natural meeting points, rather than stubbornly waiting for everyone to come together when they are already strewn about a room.

With that said, people arent complaining about it for shits and giggles. The fact that this only notably happens when the timer doesn't actually matter doesn't preclude the fact that waiting is annoying.

The solution I personally agree with and like is to allow for remote upgrading, but it comes with a notable and variable cost the power that an upgrade gives. Either the chance for rare upgrades is lowered, or the upgrades you get are nerfed.

The issue with waiting for upgrades is it only comes up if 1-2 people decide "we are doing this NOW" and demand everyone congregate around Ellis. Not a single upgrade in the game is notable enough to warrant upgrading as soon as possible, rather than doing it at any natural meeting point.

after successfully Depth 4ing a 6-layer mission solo, I can say that the balance is infact QUITE tight. You really do gotta haul ass through every mission and just write off things you can't spare the time to do. Like i once noticed i missed a bio-booster in a last cave and just had to ignore it, i wouldn't have the time to go back for it.

You’ll find a bunch of cylindrical canisters scattered around the area, usually by the crab vehicle. You gotta throw them over onto the scale until you fulfill the weight requirement

I hope you guys plan to make sprinting as painless as possible. Most of why people are pushing for autosprint is that it feels like theres a billion things that force you to slow down.

I will need to double check, but I think Rogue Core still slows you down for a few seconds + prevents sprinting after using your pickaxe for anything

If you dont want to do autosprint so that players have to intentionally go fast, thats fair. Even if it's, IMO, totally at odds with the fast pace, and at no point is there ever any reason to not be sprinting, and you are only significantly punished for not sprinting, thats fine, but wanting to sprint needs to be as painless as possible.
