it reminds me of Vermintide somewhat.
That has a lot more classes than DRG and they're largely distinguished by their ult ability (at least until you unlock more of their skill trees)
Baby flammenwerfers
Maybe two subclasses
One focused around tech and robotics
The other focused around taming Hoxxes wildlife
Engineer’s Grandpa and Beastmaster
Good things come to those who wait...!
As you all may have noticed
I’m the summoner guy
Glyphid Grunt bots would be awesome
Really want a good summoner class to fight off the hordes of enemies, make the summoner have support based weapons instead of damage based weaponry
It would be cool to have a class focused around buffing their summons to keep them active instead of just summoning some units and running away
a gun that shoots shredders
Yes
Unreal Tournament style?
YES!
Gun that shoots more gun
Arsonist class
Can inhale propane tanks like a stim to heal
”these corespawn might have wiped the glyphids, but I don’t think they’ve fought ones either chainsaws yet, ahahhahaha!”
is this rock and stone?
Rogue and core!
1 and a half hour til' steam sale.

Is there any information from the streams?
nothing new so far
A few tid bits here and there. Nothing of major note though
Gun that shoots a gun, which shoots a gun, which shoots a shredder, which explodes into every grenade in the game
And it’s rate of fire is like 100 shots per sec
The gun name is just “The Crasher”
Sounds like smth a Texan Engineer'd use.
||If gun don't work... Use more gun.
-# —Dell Conagher, Team Fortress 2||
Yes!
“Corespawn may be able to kill the Glyphids and destroy a lot of local wildlife. But these aren’t local…”
Chainsaw Revving as Glyphid Droids exit the shadows in swarms
Yesss… really hoping for glyphid droids
Glyphid with a minigun attached to his back
His name is Fraank
Maybe not minigun
I’m thinking Scout’s rifle at best on a Glyphid Bot, but even then probably weaker
That would be the spitter equivalent
Chainsaw I could see because it’s melee
Melee Swarmers are always fun, and since the Glyphid Droids wouldn’t have mouths
They’d need chainsaws or blades to attack with
Will there be mechanics from Survivors in the RC? Like getting an overclock after upgrading weapon a number of times or artifacts/items?
More % mining speed from upgrades would be handy too
They’re still thinking about how OCs are gonna work
But we do know some might just become actual guns
Just rewatched the oth teaser and it looks like each digsite will have a name above the entrance, and at present it seems to be using the same naming lists as drg's randomly generated mission names
(The facility in the teaser is called "Worthy Keep")
Which means it might be possible to come across a permanent digsite named "Driller's Womb", for example, which is way funnier than a temporary mission named that
And also seems like something Dwarven Resources should have objected to XD
There should be a giant enemy spider as a boss, no further questions needed
As someone with arachnophobia
Yes
Man I hope we get to see more characters in 3D than just dwarves
I know GSG is heavily against the idea of any lore or real story for some reason but I think an easy vehicle for that would just be some intro cinematic on game launch
Wouldn't impact things ingame and would be easily skippable
As far as I know, RC is a game about a DRG's special forces unit and it doesn't necessarily have to consist only of dwarves. Most likely it will be only them but there is a chance )
Keeping it simple is the way to go
Dwarves only.
Yeah, I just really hope to see mission control (or the mission control equivalent if there's a different character for that role) in 3D
Will customization options be added? (cloaks, tattoos, etc.)
Id be down for other species
i hope they do go for armor customization. they made the choice to go for beard over armor for DRG pretty early on, so it seems only natural to go the other direction for RC
you forgot to mention the half-dwarf half-elf character
will we have anything like xenofungus? Love this shroom )
the drg biomes will make a semi appearance in rogue core
itll start as a drg biome and then slowly transition into more of a "core biome" as you go through stages
so, there is a non zero chance we will have mushroom
I'm talking about that rare one. BIG one
i would still imagine so because its a part of the palette
Maybe... Maybe
Which one?
I’m not familiar with a giant rare fungus
It’s always fun to find them
I get a large amount of fungus bogs but it’s also been a while for me
Not sure I’ve ever seen it
Imagine joining forces with gnomes and goblins
No elves tho
Im down
What’s the Elvin slur
- leaf lover
- knife-ears
- leaf foddler
- tree hugger
- hippy
- etc.
Goblins would go hard
A class variant for each of them
Concept could be cool (not feasible in DRG base game, but maybe a spinoff like Rogue Core)
Or 2 new competitor companies for new enemies. Goblin Co. and Gnome Inc.
has there been any news on release date or even early access or betas?
Pins
tyy
Couldnt Knife Ear also refer to Dwarves themselves, as well as other fantasy creatures like Goblins?
Depends on the dwarf fantasy, dwarves dont always have pointed ears. In DRG's case, they do have pointed ears but, the distinction would be how long it is, with the dwarves having a more triangle and short point while a 'knife-ear' would be long like a knife.
Dwarves would happily call either an elf and a goblin a knife-ear.
Aye, fair enough.
-# —Tavish Finnegan Degroot, 2017(?)
Fair point.
I wonder the the reclaimers would be more "serious" type than the miners, like having maybe a more serious tone to them
Likely not considering their mercs with lax rules.
But despite that, their occassional lack of proffesionalism is made up for with their competancy.
Well they are considered the equivalent of special ops so they will be more serious than the combat miners
We should be getting a below the decks on the reclaimers in particular in the coming weeks/months if the newsletter is to be believed
it's been pretty much confirmed that this will be the case, yeah
They are so serious, they only burp 1x every mission.
nervous long burp
woa.
I just hope they diversify the personality of the characters
I wish in drg gunner would act noticably different than the scout
the lack of dwarf's personnality work in the favour of the highly customizable character in DRG though
Hm, I'd probably disagree. I think it's a good point that someone with a christmas tree as hat and a goofy mustache probably wouldn't sound depressed and stirn,
But i think it ot would speak more to the class fantasy if gunner would be more down to earth and eager to kill and the scout a bit of a hyperactive scaredy pants
I hope so too, maybe even with different voice actors. But at the same time GSG hasn't shown much interest in wanting to do that. So I assume it won't happen
No fun in that, especially given the enemy designs
Rogue Core is the greatest opportunity GSG has to introduce female dwarves into the DRG universe
I like to think you do actually play as female dwarves, there’s just no noticeable difference in appearance
Isn't that the canonical dwarf lore?
That the reason you "never see" female dwarves is because they're indistinguishable from men?
No, that's what Gimli says in LOTR. AFAIK DRG has no official canon on female dwarf appearance. Everything is headcanon.
that's just headcanon
They have even bigger beards than the men ofc
coming from not LOTR but terry prattchet
Fair, aware this is also true in DnD as well which I where I pulled it from.
Gimli says no such thing. Dwarves in LOTR are pretty secret when it comes to their culture, to the point their khuzdul names are actually secrets shared to absolutely no strangers
there's only Aragorn talking about how they have beards, which is never confirmed
(in the movies)
True, just rewatched the clip, he just says they're alike in voice and appearance
TIL
the movies do the dwarves so dirty
even the Bilbo ones
though it is a bit better
I liked how the movies gave the dwarves traveling with Bilbo a lot more character compared to the book
yeah
The talk of the hobbit reminds me of this video
https://youtu.be/pOzSoOr4mt0?si=2Qx1NRgu-8wBfcQI
is rogue core out yet
No.
Will there be any weird/funny weapons? If possible, add a metal band kit (guitar, bass, drumsticks, etc.)
the only confirmed melee weapon is the pickaxe, so probably no band-themed weapons
They don't have to be melee weapons. Maybe drumsticks that you throw like kunai, or a guitar that electrifies the area around you
I doubt it, there might be wacky weapons but they’ll most likely be similar to things like the Colette
Pretty goofy but still based around high tech stuff
Maybe? Right now they're pretty serious.
Yeah this is a good ballpark
We may have silly weapons like collette, but not stuff like instruments
(((
Honestly I wouldn't say collette is a particularly silly weapon anyway, sure it's a funny idea to be using basically a microwave to kill your enemies but in actual design it doesn't look too goofy to me or anything.
Goofy as in, when you really think about it, R&D put a focusing lens on a microwave they took the door off of
But it’s still a cool high tech weapon
In that sense yes which is what I referenced but at the same time using radiation as a weapon isn't new, salted nuclear bombs were designed just for that.
And also the massive shockwave and drastic temperature increase but yeah a salted one is designed for a lasting radiation effect.
There's a microwave weapon called ADS (Active Denial System) its used for crowd control, sometimes for protests. It directs a type of short wave microwave that only works on the surface of the skin. It feels likes pulses of standing under dessert sun but times 10.
Yeah the weapon is goofy in the terms of you're using a microwave as a ranged weapon but it isn't a concept that's totally unheard of
Yeah it's goofy, but scarily real
Given the current situation, are there any changes to the timing of the closed test? It is still planned for Q2?
nothing new so far
Mb some type of cursed/corrupted weapon, which will be very rare, have increased stats and give debuffs (less health, shields, etc.)
maybe it will even be a replacement for overclocks
like, the core managed to get its hands on everything that was left after the blackout
I hope they add a core that gets kinda rogue
But will it be rouge?
This core seems pretty rogue tbh
I really hope whenever the game comes out we get more lore and stuff, drg had alot of cool stuff I wish they'd go more in depth on
it's going to take the same approach as DRG does
Makes sense
Drg isn't very focused on its lore
What's there is mostly just left in the open
I wonder if r&d wants the core stones to manipulate them and force them to create rifts on demand so dwarves can get to the depths more easily
Since arguably core stones for now don't have any other power or utility
Makes me wonder though if we can actually use them as transport however
Which goes to the other point: Can core stones create rifts big enough for things like Corespawn Praetorians whose name I forgot to get through?
Oh Clamorheads that's what they were called I forgot
Don't get your hopes up
Me getting ready to edit a wiki page for the Ramrod toilets
Fair enough
What did GSG mean when they only gave the elite squad toilets?
What did GSG mean by this
You don't get paid for shitting during work hours.
What Anders said + drg has a toilet, the Sludge Pump
Mission control gets 100 credits, i get 10 credits, that's why i poop on company time
Stealing from the company I see
reprocessed into beer
BioBeer™️
finally, a beer that is worse than a Leaf Lovers
They aren’t expendable clones and get food.
Jetty Boot replaced by one of those urinal arcade games
Regarding food, I think that all the company-certified beer contains all the necessary nutrients, which would explain the presence of only beer in the bar's assortment, and during the mission, to cheer someone up, we pour them something, but it must be some special beer. And the food that is in the lobby is just to diversify the diet.
Big lore update
Is rogue core a new game or update for drg?
New game. Spinoff
also I feel like hiding nutrients in the beer is a pretty clever way to reduce alcohol absorption
eating before or as you eat tends to reduce how much alcohol you absorb and how drunk you get
It's proper medieval beer, liquid bread
What if the reclaimers are staunchly sober and don't touch beer
they wouldn't be dwarves then, now would they?
Beer lore when?
what's the latest news on rogue core?
it's being worked on
follow me for more rogue core updates
(check pins, everything is there)
I would just recommend checking pins for announcements instead of just asking people
yeah, I'm pretty much putting every big news in the pin
Are the closed alpha still happening in Q2 of this year ?
so far yes
Yes, but they decided I should be the only person granted access since I'll be playing the game for 58 hours/day. No others needed
In theory, if it is impossible to bring new weapons into the zone, then reclaimers should find more mining equipment to use as weapons.
There's also a sandwich that the dwarves often mention
If someone has diarrhea, I hope it's not just a glass of draft beer 😨
Can't wait to have a weapon similar to Ultrakill's jackhammer
Where do you think gut wrecker comes from
space
What bribe do i have to give who to join the closed alpha?
not sure if there are any bribes you can give, however, there is a sacrifice you can make, by that I mean like those cult goat sacrifices, except if you did that with lootbugs
if your voice is heard your chances of getting picked for the closed alpha are sure to increase by a full 0.5%
arent lootbugs a protected species on earth
That's planet Girth, I think you misheard it
ah, my bad
I know of one in the GSG office
oh my god, that is JUST a conspiracy theory propagated by GSG to distract you from the big picture
oh my god
GSG wiped out the lootbug population on earth and now theyre covering it up
that's exactly what they want YOU to think, you're asking the WRONG questions and the other discord mods are in kahoots
that's true, you can't trust me, but I am your best hope, I have SEEN what they do in there and have successfully ESCAPED
all will be revealed on the april first, that way in case I am prospectuted I can call it a parody
it is a tradegy
Hey ppl 👋 , any news on rogue core recently?
RC Q&A stream coming up soon
Today?
tuesday
Tosday
I have a question, Is roge core a DRG update or is it going to be a separate new game?
New game
Gonna be fire
It would be really funny if the new corespawn guys were just extremely deformed elves that went underground. Similar to drows from dungeons and dragons
Would make shooting them at least 10x more satisfying
read the pinned messages for info
big minerals do NOT want you to learn this trick, millions will be in shambles.
will there be steve in this new game too?
no
;-;
can i be a bata tester??
trust me i have weird luck when it coems to breaking games
jokes aside, is there even a bata tester thing? like at all?
there won't be steeve but maybe there might be a tamed corespawn with a different name, who knows
Protected species? best not catch any knife-ears protecting any creature.
is there anything about the dwarfs classes yet?
Yeah there’s like 5 rn, but I think they’re subject to change
With potential for more later
Since atleast atm the classes are mostly defined by their ability Since weapons and such are not fixed to a class
Such as slicers slicing implement and falconeers drone
Theres a google doc in the pins with current information
Atleast more so than drg as far as weapons and classes go
Weren't there like 7 leaked in the trailer accidentally?
Or did I miscount
There are 5 classes known, 2 of which have been shown
Ah mb
Are any plans to make the difficulty modular?
Like, the further u go the harder it gets?
Like more modifiers to a mission (similar to haz5+ but whit more stats to change)
If it's a rogue lite there definitely has to be
It’s a roguelike, so yeah probably (along with normal rogue like difficulty scaling)
Especially considering it's gsg making it
DRG got it pretty late, my question is mostly if release RC gonna have something similar.
I'd assume we're gonna get a pretty well made released product
I'd assume so
When it's up to them
Hazard level has been in for a long time
But there'd be no reason not to
I'm assuming they mean 5+
Ah yes, but that's just normal difficulty setting for a mission.
I mean something like.
Enemy health, variety, numbers, damage, range, movement speed.
Ah
Or Dwarf stats
I don't see why not
If it's not a part of the released version it'll probably be added later on
Going from scary facility with dangerous aliens to a Doom like experiences (lots of enemy, low health) sounds pretty nice.
That's my guess at least
I dunno, the trailer showed ur typical spread of enemies
Smol, beeg and flying variants
The combat already looks like it has a different feel
It's gonna be slightly different obviously
And ur gonna start off weaker than drg dwarves I'm assuming
But the further u go the stronger u get
The main thing I’m seeing is the disruptive enemies are a lot more… disruptive
In drg the solution for almost all of them has just been to shoot them first
Doesn’t seem like that’ll be as easy of an option in rogue core
It's gonna be a blast if done right which I don't see why it wouldn't be
It's fair to assume the price tag is the same as drg yeah?
“Too early to say but priced around DRG is what we assume”
Hence why I said fair to assume
Someone said that but I forgot who
What do you guys think about the corestone event getting another 1-2 rogue core enemies after rogue core releases? I feel like it would help fix some of the events problems if scorchers were in it for example
Would have adjust the crawlers to compensate
Cause frankly most people don't wanna leave ziplines atm if they can help it
It has been quite a while since the season started
Its not hard to do with out ziplines either
It just gets bad when there's numerous of them without ziplines
Really bad
They're fast, tanky
Zip lines, cryo, and engi secondaries sweep it really easily in my experiences
Like variance could definitely help the event
I think it’s mainly because crawlers aren’t really a swarmy enemy
Maybe we wait for s6?
And then they’re the only enemy you fight so they sort of become that way
S5 was kinda an introduction to to the corespawm
Kinda like a first wave type thing
It should get worse later on
Well they are hit and run and after the initial spawn they are not as numerous
By worse I mean more difficult
Now that we know about the core (haha) enemies of rogue core I don’t really think crawlers will feel like this at all in rogue core
I’d imagine the corestone has like 5 times the amount you’d fight in rogue core
They are not
Assuming crawlers will be mixed in with creepers and its variants which i think anders confirmed or atleast soft confirmed
Are they not?
Oh
There’s not really a good comparison to them in drg
It’s like a stalker plus a grunt
Well most can be compared decently but they’re definitely an oddball with how they behave
That’s why I think they’ll play differently
Cuz the creepers just run (crawl) at you while the crawlers hang back and then rush you occasionally
But it’s hard to feel that in drg because it’s only crawlers
Well at the very least crawlers are extremely agile im not sure if the creeper variants will inherit it
They look like they kinda just dash at you
We haven’t seen the slasher/guard equivalents yet but they seem like slightly beefier grunts
But honestly if they wanna spice up the event maybe add creepers into the pool and maybe give crawlers the ability to nudge zipliners
More things to ask during the Q&A on Tuesday i guess
I don’t think I’ll be able to watch it but if someone who sees this is, ask them what they think about adding more rogue core enemies to the event
Oh there's a Q&A Tuesday?
They seem to be doing a rogue core Q&A stream once a month
Ignoring details in the newsletter and any below the decks
They just generally have some actually involved with rogue core on the stream they do interact during the normal streams as well
But you can generally get some details about rogue core even in the regular dev streams
i wonder if this new game will have magnetic rocks that pull dwarfs to them
we did, it"s the corespawn crawler
in the spawn menu there is a slasher and guard version of the creeper
but yes the crawlers are kind of a third variant
maybe since the crawler was the first designed corespawn they thought it could be a grunt type of enemy back then
makes sense they made it a disruptive though, their high mobility and jump abilities make up for a disruptive enemy
whereas corespawn creepers don't have such things
actually I guess that'd make the crawler in rogue core similar to the glyphid stalker, a hit and run type of enemy
Still though I wonder who will be our mission control if we'd even have any
He’s there but because of the barrier, he won’t be once you get past it
Imagine if rogue core was created before the original drg and in season 5 they added a upper cave stone event that spawns glyphid slashers
most boring event ever lol
of course in this alternate universe this would be the first teaser of the enemies in the original deep rock galactic game
yeah yeah i meant that the slasher isnt very unique compared to those horrors in the current event
I just hooe that aiming is smoother in Rouge core, considering its a rogue like shooter
smoother than DRG? huh?
I thought DRG’s aiming was always smooth
yeah im a little confused as to what is not smooth about DRG
has there been any word on when we can expect rogue core to release?
yeah I find drg has one of the better hit registrations compared to other shooter games, even those who also run on unreal engine
yeah whenever i see ppl complain about unreal, i just point at DRG and satisfactory
Drg has bad frame drops at some points
Do you think rogue core and season 6 will be released at the same time?
It'd make sense
no
They'd have to work on both games at the same time + dealing with the aftermath of a game and an update releasing at the same time
Yeah that makes sense
I'd imagine rogue core would release first though
Rogue core early access will happen first, after that maybe S6
Will rogue core be on console, I'd imagine so
not for some time
probably not before 1.0 release
is rogue core gonna have things that you can do stuff with
What do you mean by this
Probably minerals that you can collect and use for upgrades
no but it will have stuff you can do things with
What if Karl is the core
Karl boss fight
Is there a Release or Beta Date?
pinned messages for roadmap
Evening peeps
My best guess is that the closed alpha date will be announced at the Triple-I thing next month
Certainly the best time for it
the 15 bucks is just a guess though
we have no confirmed information regarding the price
Ah I see
15 scrip
Is the Game for Long time Play fun Like drg or something Like survivor
what ?
all the info we have is in the pinned messages
It depends if the game loop is good
I have like 500+ hours in drg and approximately other 100h in a roguelike because i like the game loop.
Overclock grind is twice as long per GSG
They really want us hitting 1000 hours in Rogue Core for maximum retention
It will probably be priced around DRG
I forget what the price of drg was at release but iirc it increased as they added more content
I think it was always $25?
So hold on. There are permanent overclocks, but you keep the weapons only for the duration of the run?
I'm really curious about what stuff you get to keep between runs.
I guess we'll be seeing some gameplay videos when the closed alpha starts.
I don't think yo keep stuff between runs beyond the currency used for meta upgrades
Right, but what are the meta upgrades?
Umm, like categories. Are they like weapon, armor, nade, tool upgrades? Or weapons? Upgrades for something you may or may not find during a run. Or maybe some general stats like HP?
Oh it's definitely something like that
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Probably gonna be like the armor upgrades for the characters
Other unlockable stuff could be the other classes
I don't remember how many classes are confirmed as of now, but there'll definitely be unlockable ones
Upgrades for starting weapons, you can pretty much guess what stuff will be unlocked for upgrades if you played roguelikes
5
5 classes, 5 different affinities maybe
As in like
Fully upgraded dwarves with affinities that benefit their loadours
That's what I can think at least for dwarf upgrades
as I understand it the primary difference between classes is their “class ability,” basically like an Ult.
Yeah
I think they all start with the same starting weapon so far
Maybe after some progression they get their own starting weapons
The starting weapon was removed IIRC
I meant like there is no one singular weapon each class starts with. You just get to pick your first weapon
Yeah i know I'm just being silly
Hi. When is next Rogue Core "Below Decks"?
I believe it’s just a gun now
I need to update the doc about that
Should also just finish the doc… i should have time this afternoon
Well the newsletter said start working on it in March iirc
So maybe april?
"The third big factor is the actual gameplay. How do we make sure that you, the player, can feel the difference between a Reclaimer and a regular DRG miner? It’s something to keep in mind at just about every level of detail: reload animations, enemy and weapon balance, sound design, voicelines, all that. Not that we’ve got all of that nailed down yet anyway.
I think we’ll be ready for a full ‘Character Reveal’ type of thing in a few months. I’ll hopefully start writing a Below Decks on it here in March."
Thanks
I wonder if the reclaimers are gonna be super serious
Like no joking around or anything
there will be jokes still but yeah, the game is intended to be more serious in tone
I imagine the reclaimers will be like what the star wars bad batch is to other clone troopers
Just heard the news about Gorgon
Rip in peace, whalepiper
wait what happened to the Gorgon class?
don't tell me they scrapped it
rip
It's gorgone
Who’s gonna make the gorgonzola now?
More specifically seems like its potentially getting reworked
Yes, he's not exactly cut, just shelved and is not being worked on in favor of the other classes currently
Gorgonefornow
Apparently the falconeers are pretty strong
I’d imagine it’s gonna be a favorite from what we saw
Targeted drone strike but still automated enough you don’t have to worry too much about it
Reminds me of that guy from the Guardians of the Galaxy
Bird down
Yondu? The guy with the Yaka Arrow?
That could be a perk actually
I think the drone does melee damage
It now just follows when you look
Imagine our dwarf whistles or tries to
Triple-I initiative is happening again on April 10th. I'm betting that's when the closed alpha announcement will happen. No better time for it
https://x.com/iii_initiative/status/1904911231498039565?t=nWC8z-CG_mOj1iNihVyXOw&s=19
Though that is VERY early in Q2
And honestly even if it's not closed alpha, the worst case scenario is still gameplay footage. 5 course meal VS 2 course meal
Hopefully raw, uncut gameplay
unlikely
finally got a date for the III ? nice
TBH it is really the only actual guess you can make, beyond GSG announcing it at random in the following months
And rogue core is definitely coming up either way
would also be weird not to have RC at the triple i when it's the second time we see RC footage in the triple i announcement
not that it's necessarily pre-announcing it, but would still be weird
I'm expecting at least a trailer
I hope so
this drone is probably for passing through the Greyout barrier
I'm eating all the crumbs I can from rogue core footage on that preview lmao
I ate those already "unfortunately"
Including the most recent one?
nonetheless in this one I see a drop pod on the back and I do not recognize the glove/armor that he's using in this 3 second preview... oh yeah also a big robot thingy
aaaaa I want this game so much
yes
Hey I saw DRG:S in there, i wonder if we're getting the 1.0 date
Oh i got my crumbs from the triple I trailer was bonking something
Bonus crumbs?
one nanosecond of new rogue core footage

injecting this directly into my bloodstream, thank you gsg
yes
There's a droppod looking thing in the back of the iii trailer
or the RC reddit
Ribbit 🐸
i!i* 😂
I hope the developers will tell us how to get into testing.
pray to Karl for an "early access test"🙏
I still think the Triple-I thing will be the announcement of closed testing
sure they said its the trailer, but why not keep the testing thing a surprise for the event?
I hope that the either make testing reasonably easy to get into for most DRG players, or that they publicly show raw gameplay by just streaming it or allowing testers to stream it
I'm also curious if testers will get an early access copy for free, but I wouldn't expect them to
You'd have to vet things so that only testers that actually tested the game and reported bugs got a copy, that way everyone who just played it casually doesn't get a copy
and that'd be a lot of work
anyway, holy shit the last trailer was 4 months ago
time flies
another trailer? DROP THE GAME
it will drop when it's ready
this game is like playboi cartis album
You'll be thankful waiting for a better game than rushing the release
Learned my lesson with Sparking Zero
I’M GONNA DEPOSITTTTTTTT
yeah I’m alright with it
just impatient
Fair
But at least it won't be mid when it releases, like the album
WE'RE ROGUEING OUR CORES
we all are
I could care less about waiting for the game they arent gonna disappoint
but 2024
clears whole album
ROGUE AND STONE!
I hope for a quick release, and I fully realize and understand why this is bad. But if suddenly the game is not in the best condition (closed test after all) it is not scary, thanks to the level of support that DRG has.
is rogue core a new game or an update to normal DRG?
rogue core premire on my birthday 🙏
Pins
you could just answer the question but ok
its a new game born from necessity and initial experimentation as a DRG gamemode that proved the limitations of DRG were going to be a problem
It was asked too many times
thank you
we’re discord users, not a search engine.
Shaking screaming crying every time rouge core gets mentioned
Rogued Core
Rogue Corn
Discord users on their way to do everything except check pins
[Principal Skinner out of touch meme]
Discord developers: Are the discord pins too out of the way for 90% of users to realize they exist? No, it's the users fault
Maybe I’m unique but in a channel I don’t know I instantly look to pins
pins are full of nonsense
look at this
Wouldn't say its full of nonsense
yeah look like its not
Looking forward to the trailer :)
NEW ROGUE CORE TRAILER
It’s a mix of memes and info, but it’s not even like 30+ messages, it doesn’t take that long to look through
I’m so excited
Yeah I think that’s also the only one
French rogue core cannot hurt you it’s not real
Most of it is dev comments
Which is pretty important stuff
Then the streams
And like every source of info we’ve ever had
So pretty major stuff id say
I am too, I'm intrigued too since it'll look more developed and I'm excited to see that.
I hope we get a release date for the closed alpha when the trailer drops
I wonder what the sign up process will be like to get in
"How much did you tip Lloyd?"
sike! the game will be roguelike deckbuilder
I spent 20 straight minutes tipping him
Llyod has enough money to retire
i was new to this channel

looks like new game
rogue core
Do you guys think rogue core alpha release date with the trailer?
no chance
because the alpha is supposed to be open (at least partially)
so we would have heard about that
Well… it wouldn’t really be a release date
We might get news on it but we already know it’s happening soon
<@&296918282403840000> explode them
is roguecore gonna be a roguelite version of drg
That's the basics of it yeah? check out the steam page https://store.steampowered.com/app/2605790/Deep_Rock_Galactic_Rogue_Core/
who knows what significant differences there will be until it's closer to release :)
when rogue core
Is this game out on ps
Pinned messages.
I just binge read no sign of ps
Might missed cause i literally binged read though
15 on release? UwU
I dunno man i might move to pc sometime after i get ps5
And sell ps4
Any console release is tbd. The game isnt even in early access yet, and putting a game on console is much much harder than pc
Interestig
I’m hyped for the new trailer, anyone doin a watch party
What is the best way to describe DRG: Rogue Core in its relation to Deep Rock Galactic? Standalone expansion? Spin-off?
personally leaning towards the former
spin off game, details are in the pinned messages
Ahh, I just don't want to give people the wrong impression about the game when I discuss it, given how DRG Survivor is already a spin off
I dunno, I feel like "standalone expansion" better conveys that it is a new, yet distinct, version of the same game
eh, I don't think standalone expansion fits
Imagine for April fools they release rogue core but as a dollar store horror game lol
my own would be TF2's Mann VS Machine as it's own game, though not as drastic in change to the core game.
Mann VS Machine is what happens when you run into the exact same situation Rogue Core was in, but decide to keep it as part of the base game
rather than it's own thing
this... i feel like the definition here is "sequel". but this is not..?
will it cost money to own?
well yeah, rogue core is its own game
not really, its happening at the same time
technically rogue core is happening right now when you play DRG
falls under spin off
for the reason that canonically both parties of dwarfs are exploring and fighting hoxxes at the same time, just in diffrent.. areas or like you know deeper then the normal dwarfs would go ig?
is that correct?
yes
Man what I hope it launches on console same time as pc
I feel like majority of players are from gamepass maybe thas jus me tho
wouldnt the majority of players still be from steam?
either way, very unlikely id assume
for it launching on consoles at the same time
Nah most are prolly on pc I assume it's been out there alot longer
Its not EA on console is apparently a pain(as far as dev stream info goes)
the majority of players are on Steam
that's also correct, and only partially (I assume) because of the 2-weeks certification before updates
What's taking so long for new season?
Cuz they're working on Rogue Core, check the pinned messages
Instead of supporting original DRG, they making new game?
That's sorta weird
DRG is not a live service game and it's not weird for video game studios to make multiple games
They supported DRG for +-5 years after its release, it makes sense they want to work on something else
Also DRG will still get a season 6, you'll just have to wait a long while
Yeh, thanks for info anyway
Maybe at the beginning of development it didn't position itself as a service game, but now, looking at the amount of content, seasons, and the constant addition of decorations for pennies, which aren't many, it has become one. A very player-friendly service game.
well.. they are putting that service on hold for now to work on a new game
what i would do to get voicelines about them in drg (unless thats already a thing, in which case you can murder me)
damn i just realized that was from over a month ago
Better late than never
They'll announce Rogue Core for the Nintendo Switch 2 at the Switch 2 Direct
Silksong and Rogue Core realease at the same time in one package at the Switch 2 Direct
That's a weird thing to say

But I respect your opinion
The switch two direct is not gonna have any currently announced games I’m almost certain
Cuz everything on switch one is playable on two and is if it’s on switch one (like silksong) announcing it for the switch two specific direct seems odd
DRG had enough free content that they could have probably made two more games in the time they spend making EPIC FREE UPDATES
And rogue core was going to be a gamemode in DRG. They had just filled DRG with so much epic free stuff that the spiderweb was too complex to accommodate basically a new game inside of it (this is also why the shooting range cannot happen).
Spaghetti code gonna be spaghetti code
rogue core this tuesday (lol hehe (i hope nobody checks the date!))
I’m always sad I can’t ever watch them live
My shatterclaw interrogation is stalled for now
It was confirmed that it will be a season 6?
Kinda curious what would they add?
yes
What is it then
as far as we know, only s6 is confirmed and we have 0 info about its content
everything else is just up in the air
They confirmed a certain amount of seasons, no?
I just forgot the number
Not what’s in them just they’d do that many
Oh, Nevermind I guess
They'll probably make seasons for as long as enough people play/ it's profitable enough. But AFAIK only s6 is confirmed
yeah that's pretty much what they've been saying for the last 3 years
making a whole new game in the existing game would end up with spaghetti code
They seem to be able to maintain the game pretty damn well as is.
So i don't think spaghet code is an issue rn
performance has been going down every season (at least for me)
Rockpox and lithofoam will end my pc
No. It is
They had to make a new game because they literally can’t make rogue core in drg
There’s too many limitations
Sounds like sensible game development. They know it would be too much to maintain.
Why is it bad that it can't be and have everything
So you're not using "spaghetti code" as an actual critique of how the game is structured, but rather just the "reason" of why it can't have RC included
Yeah, it’s not a bad thing
Spaghetti code just happens
Random things block off random things
I am an ex r/destinythegame subscriber
And it creates a tower of cards
"Spaghetti code" was always used as a complaint of why the game is constantly bugged.
rc close beta comes this tuesday?
no
Soon™️
To be honest, although its a little unrelated, I kind of want happens to DRG when pushed to its absolute limits, and what happens if something in the code goes horribly, horribly wrong
No more fun game.
Oui
Maybe we can finally use the error cubes?
The code breaks in the exact way that it codes a use for error cubes
Or the game crashes everytime you open it. It’s a risk I’m worth taking
I want to play rogue core
Rogue
Excited for this trailer coming soon
I hope we get to see all the new classes in action
Do they know?
Yeah who the hell knows
The gorgon has been shelved for a later rework in favour of other classes
put enemies on stasis, making them invulnerable and unable to be interacted with for an extended period of time
as per one of their latest stream
Oh that's cool
at least, that's what it did, because it's gonna change
These corespawn enemies are gonna be so cool to fight
Or a pain in the ass

Heavy excavation duty ain’t no finer thanggg
So, are we getting a closed beta this year, or is it already the early access release this year?
Thx
They're adding scout!
Reclaimer scout is so buff he uses his grapple to fling enemies around instead of himself
I bet this is a “reclaimer style” reveal opposed to just classes
Gorgon is being reworked into Gongor for the reveal
Gorback
Patient, we must be
hello, where can i find some news about the new game?
Check the steam page and also the pinned messages in this channel
Or if you want like, tidbits and showcases, theres only a little bit so far in some of the rogue core related gsg streams and the newsletter
okay thanks!!!
Pins here
Pretty much all of the info we have. Then the below the decks on steam gives some more
Some questions here and there on streams but nothing revolutionary
What exactly is rogue core?
Omg bro wait why does it have to do this to me I wanna play it already
so do we all.
Closed beta is soonish
I'm still reckoning that Triple-I is also gonna be the closed alpha announcement
It’s a possibility
Don't know it's been posted yet, but new newsletter! with a new rogue core screenshot! (at least I think it's new.)
https://mailchi.mp/ghostship/ghost-ship-dispatch-07-march-2025?e=0243a6ec0e

it is new
nothing major about rogue core
think theyre saving it for the triple iii
I'm hoping to save enough steam wallet funds for rogue core's early access
experimenting with the upgrades and watching the meta unfold during the ea will be cool
Thanks!
Do you think the 'droppod' in this image is the same as the one we see in the triple i trailer? the iii one looks bigger
looking at the lights I think they are
Also what does the terminal next to the loadout terminal say?
Reclaimer scout's grappling hook can be used for swinging, not just pulling yourself where you point
Spider scout
In seriousness do note that any class will be able to use the grappling hook if they keep the current system
I just hope there’s neat perks for the traversal tools that make them more interesting
Random large amounts of rogue core info these stream what the hell
Class ability jumpscare
We have the class abilities now lol
I’ll update the doc in a second
And a new weapon reveal
roadhog style
Unaired advertisement for a line of 'Reclaimer Tech' Wrist-Mounted Utility Devices, developed by DRG R&D Laboratories. Originally intended to air on the DRG-TV Workforce Broadcast System. Footage found while clearing out the personal storage of an incapacitated employee.
DEEP ROCK GALACTIC: ROGUE CORE is a 1-4 player co-op ...
For embed
It was dropped on april first high effort joke possibly
Guardian is on par with what I expected but spotter is a twist
yes, the apple weapon
Maybe but it seems really legit
I could see some actual info hidden within the bit
slicer and falconeer are exactly what they are from what we saw so I think this is real rogue core info
that video looks really strange
Maybe the april fools joke is people thinking its an april fool joke
it looks nothing like what i'd expect to come from ghost ship
Reverse psychology
Hi Ser Azerty
Hi Skoozle567
It’s rogue core info hidden inside a April fools joke I’m calling it
I’m putting guardian and spotter abilities in the doc it’s legit I swear
We've already been shown the sword and the drone in the reveal stream, this is real info
the developers do get a little quirky at night
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking
There’s no way it’s fake because slicer and falconeer are real
At night? it's 1 pm smh
i think it's pretty obvious that it's real
I’ll try to ask in the stream but they’re busy memeing with the April fools joke
I like the orange gun shown in the stonewall section
i think the method of presentation is the joke not the actual content
It's probably legit. I heard about the weapon that shoots barriers before
I think that’s guardians class ability
We did see one gun though, was like a rifle with an under barrel mag
Yeah
I wanna know if the barrage infector with googly eyes and a neon squiggle is just funny imagery
i think it's a promotional video for abestos apple
Obviously the robot dummy implies we will get a shooting range in Rogue core
It’s likely
Because of how often it’s requested in drg but it just can’t be done in drg
I'm guessing the rifle is a railgun of some kind
Do you think the numbers mean anything
I think it shoots apple
The little arms moving on the sides of the barrel makes me think of Cyberpunk 2077's railgun snipers
“Any chance we get female dwarves?”
“Yeah next month, along with the 5th class”
Man alternate drg timeline looking amazing
Is the robot from something else? it seems to be way higher detail than the DRG artstyle
The panels on the limbs are completely smooth and round where in DRG you'd normally see the edges of polygons forming that circle
talking from style, it looks like it's from Satisfactory.
I'd assume it's just from another game or an unreal asset or something
probably a test dummy for animation ?
they're working on a third game and the robot is from there
we now have every class ability
besides gorgon rest in peace sweet prince
Gorgon my beloved 😭
im betting they shelved it because spotter is stun related
and gorgon makes me think medusa
The best April Fools pranks is when we get actual announcements
We were told what the gorgon did
did landfall day start that tradition?
cuz they only do game releases on april fools
from what they've said: it's been shelved because nobody liked playing with a gorgon on the team
Honestly I thought we'd see more, though since it's an alpha there could always be more added
^^
due to the stasis being hard to play around with on team
ok that robot is an unreal 5 asset
In DRG I'm all for having the four classes given how that game is designed, but in RC I do hope we see more abilities added over time
These look cool ofc
yeah; this is confirmed
with the way the class system works, making one takes the same amount of time as another
well unless its more complex
like DRG... drg it just cannot be done with the weapons and paintjobs and overclocks and literally a 1/3rd of the game getting in the way
Yeah I wouldn't want a new dwarf class either, four classes for a four-player team
rogue core its uh, an ability, probably some upgrades or perks or something, and then presumably a cosmetic design and voicelines
The trailer is aarons voice right?
The cosmetic part is likely just gonna be the arms and an icon I imagine
yeah
He should get a voice acting job atp
He did the guntouchables clips too
he kinda does I guess ? He makes the VA for guntouchable IIRC
not just the trailer
if I'm not mistaken
Ah I didn't even realize
I could be wrong
getting good screenshots with this filter on is really hard lmao
oh, there's literally flashing text at the bottom of the video that says 'all props other than reclaimer gauntlets are not part of the DRG universe'
oh, yeah, i see that now
dang i really looking forward to balloons in rogue core. This is terrible news
are you saying the apple is not true either??? 😭
Rip googly spoot 😔
MY ABESTOS APPLE! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I was sure the drone would be my favorite of the initial abilities but the force field gauntlets might win me over ngl
It’s like a dedicated power attack
same
they better occasionally say FUS RO DAH
IDK, it think it'd be nice to have that huge of a choice
I just really hope they don't end up fulfilling the exact same roles and jobs as DRGs classes
you feel like DRG doesn't have enough choice already ?
They won’t because it’s going to be a very different game fundamentally
No, but this is also not DRG
Like from what we can tell exploration will almost not at all be a factor with levels being straightforward
( in reply to ser pounces question)
just realized that the class names and their gauntlets are different
guardian - stonewall
falconeer - buzzard
spotter - acyronym for Special Purpose Operations Tactical Tranquilizing Enfeebling Repeater
Slicer - supernova
they were talking about DRG for that
RC already have more than 4 classes planned with more confirmed
well, techincally not anymore but its pretty obvious were getting more, theyve mentioned it so many times
I think exploration is still going to be important
Gorgon is shelved, not deleted
Right, i thought there were saying rogue core doesn't need more than 4 for the same reasons drg never started with more than four
these are the... Core.... classes you could say
I assume the below decks post will give more gauntlet info
yeah i think its not gonna be a cosmetic reveal and might be about this now
I imagine the alpha will start with these four abilities (I don’t wanna call them classes because class implies a whole kit)
yeah
they seem to be setting it up that way
Feel like the below decks will be covering the reclaimers as characters
i like the quaility is so you low you literally cannot see the energy barrier lmao
or both
If newsletter from before the current us anything to go by
I think so too, but I don't think we'll see missable events. I reckon small scale stuff like minerals will require exploration, but anything on the level of machine events will be explicitly in your face
Basically, anything you don't do will be intentionally avoided, rather than missed due to not exploring
Which is interesting to me, they've mentioned before that all events you come across are optional, and I'm curious as to why
in case you don't think you'll be able to survive
Will there be situations where intentionally avoiding something beneficial would be better than engaging with it?
Beyond not being able to survive it, of course
Maybe the longer you go avoiding something, the better the reward when you actually do it?
maybe. they could do it the helldivers way where you dont need to fight patrols but id guess its gonna be like drg where "stealth" is throwing a grenade at people who dont see you yet
Pretty sure one of the devs confirmed that as such
4800-399-1899-4891-191
The numbers, what do they mean?
also seems like they majorly updated the falconeer model
clearly this is a steam key to access the RC beta
its got like a magnetic launch pad now
I let the team borrow my social security number for the gag
Holy shit, it works!!!
It’s interesting that the slicer heats up exponite to use their ability
I’m glad we’re getting actual uses for it besides “money”, same reason I’m glad they’re expanding on morkite being alive
Obviously they’re both profitable but I want to know why
Doc is now updated
I like that Aaron made little catchphrases for them
”instead of mastering the sword, simply become the sword!”
wha.
Gorgon?
Shelved class
I always used to imagine Morkite as being space fossil fuel used for refining other resources, but it is neat to get some confirmed cases
Like the Tritilyte key
Seems like it was too similar to spotter so they’re gonna put it on the back burner for now
Regardless it’s gotta be something absolutely huge and widespread for how insane of an investment hoxxes IV is
Like space fuel
Oh wait I forgot to add the new weapon we saw
yeah, the apple
Yeah, gotta make sure
And then I’ll add the railgun or whatever as a footnote
But no one really cares
So… does that robot mean we get a shooting range?
no
it means we're getting abestos apple
besides a different lore, maps, and classes whats going to be different from drg? like its going to be more rpg-like?
it's going to be a co-op roguelite
sometimes you can hear a regular DRG mission happening above you
Maybe the apple is an allegory to the planet
You eat an apple until only its core is left
Apple Core
And DRG is you, the apple eater
banging on the ceiling of the cave with a broom handle to get the miners to pipe down
'We're rich! we're rich!'
any Australians in chat?
I can see it now. We'll be fighting our last stand against eldritch abominations trying to eat our souls, friends dying around us... and four idiots going "Mushroom! Mush-room!" above us
I hope Rogue Core isn't much more spec demanding than DRG
hard to say by how much, but it will be more demanding than DRG
Does that mean we also get to be more demanding?
I can't tell if the video is a April fool's joke or actual reclaimer shit that's in the game
Lloyd, beer! NOW!
Shit
Low end PC players are losing here
I still hope it's optimized but since it's on UE5 I do not have high hopes
