I have a question about the abilities, more specifically, will there be any divination (and anti-divination) abilities in game? Especially since one of the classes is Scryer (Cleric > Bard) and one of the gods being of fate.

Oo ok, hopefully they do have divination, more than abilities like sense invisibility but like seeing an area from far away like important trade routes to plan out caravan ganking

if a non combatant player get attacked from a combatant and successfully defend himself by killing the combatant one, that makes him combatant too or there is no change in that situation?
Will citizens of an entire Vassal Node Network be able to take part against a Node War between one of the Vassal Nodes in the Network, and another node that is not part of the network. In other words, do we know yet if its exactly one node versus exactly one node? I ask because im curious of the incentives to hold onto low level nodes in your network and how many citizens will actually hold citizenship in these lower level nodes to defend them in times of war. I had a read of the wiki about Nodes, Vassal Nodes, Citizenship & Node Wars and I either missed this information or it's not yet known.
Fighting a combatant marks you as a combatant, yes. Fighting a corrupted player does not mark you as a combatant.
If you do "/search flagging" it should pull up the wiki page for you. For some reason, it is only displaying it as a private one for me. Nevermind, I was just stupid.

i see but does it matter if you hit first or not that my real question. Another example you are red and a green player hit you, if you kill him your corruption increase or not cause you were the deffender?
As far as I'm aware, it makes no difference who starts the fight, except that a green player attacking a purple player would become purple.

Yes, killing more greens would indeed increase your corruption score. There is no advantage to going red, just penalties.
The no reward only penalties are understandable but that doesnt create a possible "infinite loop" for a red player who tries to become green again, if he gets attacked constantly by greens and deffends himself by killing them, now the game punish him more. Its intended to be like that?
Correct. You did not "innocently" become red. You attacked someone who didn't attack back. You evaluated that "risk" thinking it was worth the "reward" to kill them. You then have to die to cleanse that corruption or work it off through grinding exp. Thing is, everyone in the area is going to be coming for you. You may have looted a portion of that greens flowers, but you are going to drop even more when people find you and kill you. Every time you kill another green your corruption score is going to increase, requiring more deaths or more time to work off at 4x the normal rate. Go red, get dead.
Corruption only applies to open world flagging. If you are bloodthirsty, then take advantage of at the last count I remember, 9 different "sanctioned" pvp systems in Ashes. Including a majority of the map on open sea.
ok but if you are green and you get attacked by purple and you kill him now you are purple too, that means purple and red can hit you freely, so the game now punish you for defending yourself. Am i right or do i miss something?
No, if you are attacked by someone, they automatically become purple. When you attack back, you also become purple. Has nothing to do with killing them.
And it is not a permanent state. Purple goes back to green in a short amount of time. It has varied in testing from 1 minute to around 30 seconds of being out of combat.
Ok so the game gives you two options either you dont hit back and you lose more stuff or you hit back and you become purple for a short time and thats how enable pvp in some cases

While I understand cash shop cosmetics are the norm now and unavoidable, in other games theyâve made them so much better than the in-game armor sets that there was no reason to attempt the grind to stand out. Just stating my hope that along with the cash shop, they leave some dope sets to actually acquire through difficult content rather than swiping.

No, in the case of a node siege where the defending node loses, it is blasted back to level 0, allowing the surrounding nodes to advance if it was locking any of them out. In the case of node wars, it is possible to temporarily take control of poi areas of a node and take the resulting resources and node exp that area would have generated. But there is no permanent shifting of a nodes predefined borders as of yet.

Im wondering if there are guild castles and only a limited amount, will only the biggest guilds have them?
afaik there are only 5 of them.
these are high level raid zones and preoccupied by hostile NPCs.
players will have to clear the castle to lay claim. so for starters small guilds could have a hard time contesting this type of content if a large guild pulls up.
it's not mentioned specifically, but to me it sounds like this is going to be an open world zone (which means other groups can mess with you as your group is clearing the zone).
based on the available info I'd say these will belong to the strongest guilds (or powerful merchant guilds who struck trade deals with the biggest guilds).
but as with everything, large guilds have their weaknesses too: human elements including drama, internal/external conflicts, politics, espionage, etc.

I figured someone would warn you. The store only sells stuff once then itâs never gunna be sold again after that month. Everything sold to this point is mostly in game assets from what I understand. Also it isnât the item or building your buying. Youâll still have to get the item or building in game to apply your store skin to it. I think the last pack they sold is still available to people who have backing packs already but not to new purchases. I know your answer was pretty much answered but I felt these details might help you down the line

Is it possible to transport goods for gold from node a to node b without using caravan system? I get the risk Will be lower henceforth smaller rewards, but Will it be a possible way to earn gold?
You will be able to transport resources via something like: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Mules, or on your player character, in order to try selling things for higher prices where it may not be available. So yes in that regard.
If you are thinking about commodities, those need to be transported via caravan or merchant ship.

They have not said, no.

What is the maximum number of active skills and items that can be placed on the action bars? Some times we have seen 20 and others 24 
Itâs planned for each archetype to have 30-40 spells, but not all of those spells can be learned at the same time. The only cap on how many slots your bars will have is how many bars they have enabled, which should be more than enough to hold anything you have available
i believe the highest amount of bars weve seen so far is 4

Addons wonât be allowed, but intrepid will try their best to give all of the UI wants we have in the game by default

dont disagree with that at all. FF honestly did a great job in that department and having it in game vs 3rd party just makes it so much smoother and not having to worry about updating or it resetting is so nice
With the Tank archetype will there be need for multiple of them in raids like there is healers or is only one or maybe 2 going to be needed as if that's the case won't there be lots of tanks that can't find spots ?
We don't know
All they have said is that individual raid content will be encounter specific as to desired archetypes. Not every encounter is going to want/need 2 tanks, 2 clerics, 2 offheal support and 2 dps as an example for 8 man content. You will have to build out, gear out, spec out for the encounters planned for that particular activity.

If you are talking about your legacy tags, those are gone. If you have left the server and returned, then you should get any relevant tags within 24ish hours of coming back. If you believe you need access to the A1 spot testing channels, file a CS ticket.
Do players who attack player caravans get points towards being corrupted?

Thanks yeah i origionally got channels when i got the $250 kickstarter pack A2 not A1 spot testing and acidently left the discord one day and lost channels but that was a few months back but that clears up alot thanks.
There are no "points" towards being corrupted. You kill a green in a place that has the open world flagging mechanics (caravans do not) and you become corrupted. You gain more corruption if you continue doing that (so points I guess as you understand it) and those points are reduced/removed on death or grinding of exp.
If you never had A1, then you have all the tags you need. There are no "A2" tags currently.

Don't treat alpha 2 like the launch of the game. Guilds are a highly important part of the game, by intent, but A2 is a testing environment and most content won't be ready at the start of it. You have time to learn and acclimate yourself to the environment before making lasting decisions like guild affiliation.

Most likely this is something yet to be determined as we get further in development and they refine their performance with view distance. In A1 we were able to see things from very far away but TBD with A2.
yea i was thinking this wouldnt be that rough on resources as its 'if monster very big (or if is world boss) render to all (most) players'. the sight of a massive monsters moving around very far away would be insane

Will there be a limit for the zoom out camera option (like how far it goes)? I really dislike some games where we can zoom out so much that we are sometimes looking like we are in a world builder game instead of the smaller POV. I really dislike the fact that for some game that's not taken into consideration and more of a player convince so they can "see" the battle field better but isn't the awareness part be about communicating with your team and looking around more be part of the players skill

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Very few games have no zoom out limit. I personally have never played an MMO (or any game) that has that. If you're really worried, ask on the forum in the pre-stream thread for a chance for them to feature your question in the stream next Wednesday.

There are internal (dev and QA) tests, and semi internal (PI and alpha 1 players) who test under an NDA before a2 will begin.
Alpha 2 will have a million eyes on it to the point where it will feel like the launch of an actual game. They brought in a decent number of testers under NDA to make sure that the Alpha 2 launch is as smooth as possible.

When the game launches, will there be EU, SA servers or just NA?
Ashes of Creation will launch in the following regions:
North America (NA).
Europe (EU).
Asia/Pacific (SEA).
Oceania (OCE) (Australia).
The likelihood is very high for Sydney or Melbourne based OCE servers.
OCE servers may not be provisioned until Beta for Ashes of Creation (the MMO) and live launch for Ashes of Creation Apocalypse.

okay so joining a node and getting a citizenship is required for you to own property or rent a flat or etc.
whats the point of that? what bonuses do i get from joining a node and paying taxes? is it only that ill be eligible for housing? if yes then whats the plus side of renting a room in an inn or an apartment?

With the Vassal System between Nodes, as I understand it a level 5 node can control at most 1 Level 3 and 1 Level 4 node.
And those Level 3 / Level 4 Nodes can't advance to a Level 4 / 5 until something happens to the Level 5 node? Like it's attacked and goes down a level or something?

if a corrupted player dies he loses a large portion of the corruption, so couldnt u just have a green mate kill u a few times to reset ur corruption to overcome the risk of losing gear/loot from kills? this way the only pain is the xp loss. or is there smth im missing?

Technically speaking, yes, you can, however, as Arc mentioned, you will suffer the death penalties (4x as much as green player would), which will reduce your stats
so a minmaxer could just plan to go for some PKs for loot the next time he lvls up so the xp loss is negligible and the stat loss is minor, then after 5 or smth kills, he brings back the loot to his mate who kills him 2-3 times and he gets back to business đ
5 or more kills considering most ppl would probs fight back and not give more corruption*
the important part is that as your PKs increase, so does your corruption gain, meaning you will have to die more and more with each kill. Moreover, Bounty Hunters will lock onto your location; if you are corrupt, there is no "somewhere secluded"
being that BHs only come online after a military T4 comes around ppl will have some time at the start to mess around with this :D
naturally, yeah. But in the long run, it won't be worth it. With enough PKs, killing a single player will give so much corruption the corrupt won't be useful in combat at all, leading to any single person being able to kill them, resulting in quite a loot pinata
so the corruption gained from a PK scales with the total number of PK's you have on your account? or just the temporary count that you have since youve gone corrupt
Reaching maximum experience debt for a level can result in roughly 20% stat dampening for that character. (from wiki/Player_corruption)
lets say i just hit lv15 and im at 1% xp to next lvl, dont think the first corruption kill i get (which will push me down to max xp debt will give me all 20% stat damp, which also isnt effective against BHs as these dont exist when fighting BHs

As I understand it, it's "XP debt", not "XP loss", meaning you can go into negative numbers, so 100% would mean 100% of xp required to reach the level

You have to remember that there are two different systems in play also. There is a player corruption value that is decreased by deaths or exp grinding, and a PK count that is decreased only through a possible quest. The higher your unresolved PK count also contributes to corruption value gained.

That I don't know. (After all, all my knowledge comes from the wiki and a short test back in 2021 which is barely relevant now .-.)

From you tags you have one that is of a higher tier than that that gives you access to everything you need. There is a limit on how many tags you can have. For example, I also do not have A1 in mine.

Tags are given to allow permissions to see certain channels that you have access to.

Things to keep in mind:
- Skill and Stat dampening does not state that it has a cut-off limit for corruption, only XP debt.
- You will take significant penalties for death while corrupted, such as gear degradation and reduced loot drop rates (for an undetermined amount of time)
- Your original idea of killing a bunch of people to go red and then getting a friend to wipe the corruption away for you requires you to survive all those encounters and get back to your friend alive. There's an inherent risk that any of those fights could go badly and you lose gear/spoils as a result.
Even if you a friend killing you to clear your corruption, you will still accrue xp debt you will need to work off, this could amount to alot of xp to work off dependant the level disparity and the amount of kills
There is no inherent gain by going corrupted.
This is intended by design.
When you gain that corruption you have the potential of losing your completed items, your weapon, your armor, stuff that is very difficult to achieve; and then the other aspect of that is, that in order to deter basically players taking alternate characters and saying this is my PK alt, the more players you kill, the more corruption you gain, the higher your combat efficacy in PVP diminishes. If you're out there and you killed 20 players... **you will not be able to perform in PVP any longer. **You will need to take that character and go work off that corruption. The other aspect of corruption is that if you kill another player, who is a non-combatant and the level disparity between you and that player is great, you will gain a higher amount of corruption from that single kill. To the point where you should not be killing a level one character.[2] â Steven Sharif
this only applies when you kill greens? so if the other person fights back, and you kill them, then you wont get any corruption, correct?

A popular thing in BDO was to get a player low enough, cc them so that pve mobs could kill them and you wouldn't lose much karma
Tagging a player doesn't cause corruption (red). Killing them does. The feature that prevents BDO thing you mentioned is enemies won't be able to see your exact health
Tagging a player flags you, tagging an entire field of greens just to troll them and try to get them low enough that they do get killed by mobs is an exploit.
It will happen and I will make sure to test it.
The obfuscation of player health unless random won't last long. Especially when you can tell what type of gear, what tier and things they have on through the icon.

CC effects do not apply to Non-combatant (green) players. The target of a CC ability must be flagged in order to suffer the CC effects. This prevents players from opening attacks that stun non-combatant players during a pull for example.[3]

The devs have not talked about having a megaserver and have talked about having multiple servers per region with game design decisions based around having multiple servers like letting servers have different content available from each other. I think there was some slight confusion based on the wording of 'one realm' when talking about multiple physical computer servers making up a single realm, but that's almost definitely not meant to imply that there will only be a single realm.

They gave you actual numbers so that should overrule any difference in opinions about what consititutes a "megaserver". So the real question is: Do you think 50k qualifies as a megaserver? If yes, then the answer is: There will EVENTUALLY be megaservers. If no, then the answer is: There will not be megaservers in the future. If that doesn't answer your question, then please be more specific than "2x (or larger) than the normal server pop".

Ah okay. So Steven has said in a live stream or 2 (maybe it was in the AMA, but not sure I just know he has said it verbally) - that he is anticipating a certain percentage of total possible as his concurrent during peak times for his server load plan. I don't recall exactly that percentage off the top of my head, but if we use the 10k/15k math, than we'd be looking at roughly 33.5k as an eventual max anticipated server load. That's about as accurate as we can get for an answer to your question. I see it being rather far down the line before anything larger than 15k accounts with 10k concurrent happens though.
i cant figure it out who makes the f.e. gathering tools or in general tools for profession ? Wiki says "Artisans will not need to rely on other trees in order to make their tools" but in Livestream November 2023 a weaponsmith was needed for creating a herbalism sickle ? Anybody can tell me whats right ? I like the idea in the wiki where i dont have to rely on other professions - especially when making the "master toolsets"

Hey everyone, question regarding classes, from what I understand Cleric is the only healing class and other classes may get some sort of bonus healing from augments, is that so? If so, how will that work in terms of versatily both pvp and pve?
There are other archetypes planned that have lesser healing instead of a "primary" role, there are consumables and other abilities that lead to "self-sustain" in all archetypes. So while Clerics role for heals is singular, they are not the only option.
note that Cleric is an archetype. there are 8 healing classes under the cleric archetype.
Thank you both for your answers, I understand how archetypes work, it's just that, since I don't really know what different Cleric based archetype classes will look and feel like that it remains confusing to me. Will it make that much of a difference if you are a Cleric/Cleric compared to being Cleric/Fighter or Cleric/Bart because from what I understand there won't be any new abilities or skills just changes in the way the function. So for some people who are used to having a choice of multiple healing classes I am curiours to how that will play out. I mean sure, I've seen the Paladin class in the AOC list but idk..until I experience it myself. I do hope the difference is major even tho' I don't play healer ever, I am thinking of the whole thing as a whole.
Oh, and are there going to be armor restrictions based on what class you play? As for ex: if you are a Cleric/Cleric can you wear heavy armor?

They have not released a current spec. There are older ones on the wiki. But they have not been updated by Intrepid in a long while. One thing they have said repeatedly is they plan for a 5 year "legacy" window. Meaning that if the tech is less than 5 years old, it should run on it. Play on a potato, get potato results.

Thinking about node wars. Will the act of conquering a node. Advancing a node give exp outside defeating pc or npc's.
Such an act would surely spur growth.

Node wars are structured into phases, and each phase consists of events. Winning phases and events offer long-term and short-term rewards.[20]
A war contains phases and phases contain events. So, there are conditions to win a phase and then there are conditions to win a war. Winning a phase gets you some amount of in-the-moment rewards and some more long-term rewards. Winning events gets you some amount of in-the-moment rewards and long-term rewards. And then the war is the massive objective that you're competing to towards

it doesn't specifically say that at the time a node advances to the next stage that players receive an exp bump or reward, but advancing a node to the next stage requires a lot of questing and gathering which in turn gives you exp and rewards

It was said that you can't CC a non-combatant. But what about a forced AoE? Will you hit all of them?
There will be a setting in the game that you can enable to have aoes hit non combatants
I know about the setting for the AoE when you are hitting a combatant, whether it should hit non-combatants. What I mean is targetting a single non-combattant and force-attacking them using an AoE (kind of an edgecase)
Aoes will always hit combatants - there is no setting to disable that.
The setting is to enable non combatants to be hit by your AoEs
I think I am not explaining properly. Let me describe the situation:
You are running around questing; next, you need to talk to an NPC out in the wild, but there is 20 non-combatant players surrounding it, so you can't click the NPC. You are frustrated, had a bad day, so your brightest idea is select one person at random and force-attack using an AoE.
There are no combatants in the area. The question is, do you only hit the initial target, or do you tag all of them? (Or perhaps this would fall under the "hit non-combatants" setting too?)
It would depend on how the skill works I suppose.
If the skill is a ground target AoE - then you wouldnât target the player at all to cast it. If you cast it on the ground beneath them and you have the âAoEs effect non-combatantsâ setting turned on then any non-combatant in the area would be damaged by your spell and you would turn purple.
If the AoE is an effect like say lava blast where you cast it on a target and then an AoE surrounds the targeted player, the same rules apply. You would be able to target the non-combatant with the spell if you enabled force combat toggle and then the resulting AoE would hit every other non-combatant if you have that setting enabled

@narrow wharf Aoes are not force attacks. A force attack is a single target ability and will only hit the target that you have selected.
that says that non-forced attacks, which can include AoE or statuses; doesn't say that AoE attacks are non-forced
Read it as you like. You won't be aoe opening on greens.
A forced attack in Ashes of Creation is when a player presses Ctrl+F before they attack, or they hold Alt while they attack another non-corrupt player. This allows their attacks to be registered against that player. If the attacker is flagged as a non-combatant (green), they will become a combatant (purple) when their attack hits the other player.[1][2]
In your previous example of people standing in a group. You would target someone, hit CtrlF, and then launch your aoe. It would hit the person you targeted, anyone else that is ALREADY purple in the AOE, but would not hit anyone standing there that is green. You would also have to have toggled on AoE hitting non targeted purples. If you go back and look at the various combat livestreams in the last 6 months you might be able to find an example in the showcases. The node war testing is not a good example, as everyone was flagged for either side already.

Declaring wars and other actions in the node take points from the mayors pool. They will have to weigh which options for mandates they want to pursue. Also, whether their citizens want to support those actions. The showcase did not show the effort, resources, and input from multiple parties that needs to occur for a war dec to actually happen. They will have plenty of other things on their plate towards the development of their node besides bloodlust. And node wars only "take over" a contested section of a node to channel resources and exp for a limited time, not the node itself. And finally, a metro would have those nodes closest to it under their vassal network, and would be receiving more benefits from them being healthy and generating exp that is funnelled up to them along with taxes, rather than "picking on the small guys around me"
ok, i guess, can a regent node decalre war on a node far away from it? becuase it remains to be seen what's the best course of action for a node? maybe the best way to develop a node strength is just to go to war with another node every time. Can a node be at war with several nodes at a time?
Again, these are all situation dependent outcomes based on the individual server situation at the time. Is the far away node impacting your network in some way that it is worth the time and effort to rally the troops, put forth a mandate, gather the resources and go to war. Is the "risk" of running out of mayoral mandate points that you might need to build a new apartment block or upgrade your crafting stations worth it for something that has limited gains. Is the "reward" worth it, not just to you, but the probable hundreds of citizens that a metro node will have? They have put a system in place that allows people to make bad decisions as well as good. You get a mayor that is in it for "shits and giggles" they probably won't be mayor for long.
a mayor gets a month to be mayor and can destroy the node within a month with enough bad decisions
with the way elections works for all the different types theres always a chance for a bad mayor and then if there is a bad mayor that keeps getting in everyone will just leave that node except for the people ( streamer simps / large guilds) voting them in which in turn stalls their own progress.
as a mage will i able to focus on 1 element or i have to mix? like can i go frost mage?
It will almost certainly be worse to only have 1 element due to the nature of them interacting with eachother with the debuffs they apply. For example if you use ice magic on them you'd first apply chilled, and then frozen. And if you use lightning magic that applies volatile, then the frozen status effect is ''shattered'' dealing a chunk of damage to them.
i mean can you just go full ice and just have lightning to basically burst the ice
Whether or not you would have enough ice spells to use up all your skill points we dont know. But for rp purposes you can do whatever you want, no one is gonna stop you from refraining to use spells from elements other than ice.

water mounts are extremely slow compared to ships. players on mounts are also vulnerable to enemies in the sea, whether they be PvP or PvE.

Alpha 2 is also a testing phase. At A2s launch Most content will be missing. Most of the world will be missing. Most systems will be fully incomplete and buggy. Almost everything will be unfinished
yea, do not rush in buying a key if your main purpose isn't to test and help the game

some people have managed to map keys to a controller, but there havent been any plans to officially support it
so probably not

Quick question: As a Tank, will i be able to distribute stats into full offensive stats for faster leveling process and can reset it when i reached max level or will i be stuck with the offensive stats then? The gear stats beside obviously
Allocating stats as you level isn't a thing
You get skill points to put into your skills which you can reset
But not "you levelled and get 3 points to put into strength/dex/int/wisdom/Con etc."
Aaaah alright so i could just go full offensive while leveling and respec everything at maxlevel and will still be able to go full tank for example?
I hope the gear stats let me do this as the tank class
Players receive skill points at specific points as they level. These can be used to level up skills (increase their rank) within their active, passive or combat/weapon skill trees.

afaik the only way to "go full offensive"(and not even FULL offensive) is to spec into an offensive secondary archetype, and then to go FULL defensive, respec into a secondary tank archetype(which is supposed to take a bit of effort)
While it may not be a simple button push, yes, you can re-spec your skill points later down the track
so tank/fighter for some more offensive, and then for full defense tank/tank

There won't be hard caps on stats but there will be diminishing returns on certain stats. Weapons and armor aren't class locked.

There has been no confirmed date for a release. We get a date tomorrow during the livestream for the Alpha2.

A2 will not be "the final product". "The final product" will be what else Devs have done when they're ready to launch the last Betas preceding the official launch.

Are there any plans to introduce more weapon types, or transmogs of current ones?
Due to the high pk penalty (corruption system) does the game plan to have an area with mobs that if killed repeatedly for hours reduce the duration of the corruption? (Like previous games did when the PK punishment is relatively high)
experience in general will reduce corruption
so yes you can grind mobs or do any activity
Probably not, and yes. Intrepid has removed some weapon types in the past (crossbows being the latest example), so adding more after the backlash of previously removing some would be weird and they have plenty of other things to worry about. A transmog system has been promised, but details are light beyond that it will be there.
