it all ties into each other. the website is the main portal to validation steam account. since all login traffic goes through there before connecting to steam. My guess is the AWS server they were hosting on wasn't capable of handling this. It's vary likely they are trying to find an alternative solution which they have been testing successfully locally but every time we don't see the maintenance message those changes are live, but still fail because its just a bandage
