always overprepare and make sure your arenas are well made because in multiplayer, the bosses projectile and boss ai switches its targeting very quickly so people often aren't ready to dodge, so make sure that's not you lol

So as a preface I've been playing Terraria for over 10 years. Broadly I know my way around. That being said, I've always used bows/guns. I've never actually branched out and done other weapon focuses. I decided to do a solo-expert with a primary mage with the stipulation of no 'Ranged Damage'.
Currently I'm pre-wall and I've been running around and making use of Meteor/Spacegun with both sharktooth necklaces. I'm now looking at Dungeon/Underworld stuff and I'm kind of at a loss for how I should proceed, given mana needs and damage concerns.
I have Magic Missile, and it's a great weapon, but I feel like it's more of a utility-type rather than a regular weapon. Would Demon Scythe be a better call for a replacement for the Spacegun?
Since the Spacegun doesn't need Mana with Meteor, I haven't had to put too much thought into such things thus far. Prior I was using Diamond Staff/Mystic Robe/Wizard Hat. I've been kinda stuck on the consideration of switching to one of the less damaging but more economical armor sets. Or perhaps the Celestial Cuffs supplement the relatively poor econ of the Meteor set? I'd appreciate some thoughts.

I find the frog to be better.
The hornet fires projectlies, the frog just gets up in things' business.
It does damage far more often.
And can just body-block things that are coming from one direction while you deal with another.

also druid lady sells powder you can throw on it but its way weaker, but still useful
idk any other way, i just strip mine and use that gun when i was on the xbox

You can't really stop the crimson from spawning when you break an altar
best you could probably do is not break them and just fish for hm ores
66% chance for a random block to corrupt when you break an altar, and that could be anywhere in the world
either you get lucky or just fish for ores
