TBH I agree that the lore isn't official, a lot of people prefer to think of it as just terraria and don't like the lore. I like the lore since it gives me a sense of purpose in terraria, like my quest has meaning. Multiple guides is canon one way or another, but its hard to say with other NPCs, it could go both ways
