definitely get some hermes/flurry/sandstorm boots
make a decently long line of platforms to run on
get a grapple hook so you can get back on the platform when you fall off
weapon-wise, a decent ore bow (gold/platinum), the snowball cannon, a flaming mace, or a gem staff all work well
make sure you have some healing potions, too
