In that folder, there's a file called "config.json" Delete that.

I've got no idea what you or your friend are saying there, but something about that seems.. not right.
Usually deleting the config will fix this sort of issue.

Normally people either can find it no problem, or they're missing the entire folder.
The latter is usually only for new players though

You don't need butterfly wings to deal with Plantera so you could just save the effort for the pumpkin moon (those wings are pretty much the best non-boss drop wings pre-Lunar)

a) beetle set bonus is like 60% increased dps instead of 30%
b) mech gauntlet is 24% instead of 12%
c) you can hit once with dark harvest once in a while to get the 50% melee speed

the beam also hits for like 175 with no offensive boosts
