right, so, dunno if this is a bug or what, but my system is a lil bit struggling to run Terraria, for the most part it's fine but sometimes it crashes... and most of the time, when it crashes? it's when I'm transitioning in/out (mostly out) of the Glowing Mushroom Biome area (I've literally marked out lines for where the BG changes, and have to take that transition slow and sometimes it still crashes)

Hello! I'm having an issue with vanilla Terraria audio. No audio will play through my headphones or speakers. It worked yesterday, but not today. Yes, I checked the in-game audio settings, no it's not muted, it shows up in volume mixer, I've restarted Terraria, restarted my computer, reinstalled Terraria, deleted the config file to have a new one generated, reinstalled Microsoft XNA Framework, reinstalled DirectX, and ran system health scans. This problem is ONLY with vanilla Terreria. TModLoader audio is fine, and so is all other audio on my system.

Barrel Launcher and Flint on Destroyer, Foxparks' flamethrower mode on the evil bosses and Wall's Hungry, buffed Phasesabers as support weapons and on Destroyer, that's pretty much it.

I fight him inside a large box so flipping gravity doesn't really do anything as for knockback I don't bother instead I use the bungle of balloons with amphibian boots to have emough movement to move away from the brain

I agree with him, I'm not a fan of MM at all. I will give it one thing I do like about it is since boss fights take longer, you spend more time in the second phases which is cool tbh

I have a few issues with for the worthy but imo I consider it to be the real master mode

You can call it "artifical" difficulty, but it IS more difficult and actually makes normal monsters dangerous, even late game

Master mode was annoying at first, but it forced me to really learn how to dodge every bosses attack. Expert mode feels too easy for me now.

and this in turn changes how you must approach the game itself. Stuff like maxing out buffs and playing smart (even when doing things that are normally trivial, one wrong action and you're dead) becomes way way more important, almost mandatory

while on normal expert you can easily just bruteforce anything without thinking about it too much (and MM to a certain degree, Legendary really amps this up a lot)

Yeah it forced me to learn how to make potions, those helped me so much in every fight in MM. I have never leaned into crafting potions in normal or expert.

I mean, something like Beetle Scale Mail + Terra Blade can progress through the events relatively quickly, even with an otherwise defensive build. Keeping off the ground to avoid most enemies and the grounded minibosses helps a lot, too.

I had a rude awakening with the Spike Ball once on that same playthrough, but otherwise, it's the Chain Gun that's the main threat since the present bombs and missiles travel more slowly.

Also, I highly recommend bringing Warmth Potions for the Frost Moon. Though they don't affect many of the mechanical enemies including Santank, they do affect the Ice Queen.

It's still gonna hurt quite a bit but if you already have a defensive build, worm scarf (or brain) + endurance potion + ironskin + lifeforce + "major improvement"-food (and maybe a bast statue) and trying to get your regen/lifesteal as high as possible will have a massive impact

Hey guys, I'm playing on Steam Deck with a mouse and keyboard, and the mouse wheel does not work unless I scroll like crazy. Anyone know a fix for this? I've tried on other games, and its only acting up on Terraria so I know its not a problem with my mouse.

good news, it's not turning into hallow. your hallow just spawned on top of your jungle when you entered hard mode, hallow does not spread to junlge grass or mud

You generally don't want to do it that way, if you want hardmode corruption you want it lower down in the caverns otherwise you won't get mimics and it would be harder to get cursed flames

Surface corruption is nearly useless in hardmode

Background walls don't matter for spreading infection, but you don't want any grass tiles near the gaps because thorns can bridge the gaps to spread infection anyway

Cool whip or firecracker depending on which summon you are using. If you use firecracker pair it with Abigail and spider armor she will one shot nearly every regular enemy.

Hallow is great, naturally keeps evil away, NPCs don't mind it, you keep most of your pylons the same, and it spawns better bait at night

And for the jungle i put mushroom grass in the way of the evil so it can't spread further

Well I'll describe my control set up then:

I got my keyboard on the left, mouse in the middle, mini-arcade stick on the right, because if you hold down square/x on a controller it locks onto an enemy and you can press R2 to attack, all while moving with your keyboard, and arcade sticks are very ergonomic so

But Volcano is just better in every way other than range

If you leave your phase blade stuck in the ground it will still damage anything that passes through it
