What stage of the game are you in? Warding gets progressively less useful as you get through the game in my opinion, but it's still useful. If you're about to fight lets say moonlord, I'd personally use two with warding, the rest with menacing. Also consider trading out some less useful accessories for things like the hero shield. If you already have defensive accessories, go all out menacing. Again, just what I'd do

Perhaps the easiest way to farm Pirate Maps is to stay just above the Ocean water (water-walking boots or a small platform will work). Place a Water Candle nearby or keep one held in your hand (doing both provides no added benefit). Summon at least a few minions and simply wait overnight. The spawn rate, while usually dismal, will be amplified by the candles and night time. Simply collect the drops in the morning or as you see fit.

Another option involves placing 200 Ebonstone Blocks near the Ocean biome which turn it into The Corruption biome too. Craft Worm Food and use it to summon the Eater of Worlds which only be possible in a corruption biome. Having fifty body segments, each with the 1% spawn rate, in theory you only need to defeat two Eater of Worlds to get a pirate map.
(Idk if its still up to date but this seems to be a good method too)

If you look the pic, I can tell you that the bestiary, setting menu and achievements menu is less comfortable to reach with the steam version...why?

With the switch you can press a button to open the inventory and go with the arrows to the bestiary and setting menu, with steam deck you can't, yiu have to use the touch pad with the mouse and try to click on the really tiny icon, makes no sense

well I would use that then not wired explosives, make sure you have a clear area and just pray and spray till he did. If you want you can reforge your accessories to warding to reduce the laser damage, use a speed mount so he doesn't run past you. You can grind some golf games to get the golf cart

head to the desert and get yourself some cactus armor

only need 75 cactus for the set and it protects you
