just saw the preview for the trailer for Terraria VR

honestly i don't think it's much of an improvement from Terraria on any other device, it's just that the controls are different because now you're using your hands instead of your mouse and keyboard/mobile controls (god knows how terraria mobile players beat bosses)/controller

but it's a preview for a trailer, so that kind of "first person"'s definitely not going into the final game as it might not even be actual gameplay of Terraria VR (at least i hope so)

i do wonder how they're gonna make Terraria VR considering it has to be 3D (or at least look 3D despite you moving in 2D)

the game isnt launching for me for some reason. every time i launch from desktop or through steam it starts to load then its either crashing or something else, just not loading. have uninstalled/reinstalled, verfied the game files through steam, updated drivers and about 4 or 5 other different types of fixes that have been listed on a site for this problem but none of them are working. if anyone has any other suggestions about how to fix this, that would be great. been craving to play lately so would be nice if the game actually worked.

What do you think is a good item to use as a currency for player to player transactions?
I want to create an economy with a few friends and need an item which could replace money. It has to be rare, but fairly accessible and not farmable in large quantities (unlike ingame money) so nobody gets too much of it.

Why do so many calamity accessories say "can be worn in vanity slots"?

I thought at first it was because some early game accessories would still give effects in vanity slots, but they don't because that would probably be kind of op, but then I dont see why they specify that you can wear it in a vanity slot in the description of the accessory?

i recomend having a bottle to double jump and hermes boots before the fight and a hook but the hook isnt necessarily needed for that fight. make a one layer platform that you can fun far on so when the boss gets low you can run from his attakcs

Any of them work. Melee has high defense, Ranger can attack from a safe distance and has good defense as well, Mage has a ton of homing and crowd control options along with Spectre Hood armor, and Summoner can attack enemies passively. You can use mixed sets to achieve a bulky Summoner.

All of this isn't too concerning because you can put full Warding and defensive accessories on any class build, and use Hallowed and Beetle Shell Armor with any class.

Upgrade your Wings, replace Horseshoe Balloon, Ankh Shield, Frog Gear (either with Master Ninja Gear or get Amphibian Boots), and get better weapons. If not facing the Moon events and Duke/Empress pre-Golem, then get Venus Magnum or Tactical Shotgun or Sniper Rifle at least.

You can either use that or build an arena under the Altar room, summon Golem and either RoD out or recall to a house built under the Altar. He'll drop down and you can fight him in a larger space.

You can still use something like Hoverboard, though, which has faster ascent, longer flight time and hovering to dodge the projectiles in mid-air.

I think they're a bigger issue than the Altar room generation, is what I'm saying. If you got him to 13K HP, that might be all the push you need.

You'll also want better accessories for the later bosses anyways, so you might as well get them now.

It is doable if you invest in more horizontal movement, which something like MNG provides, along with a dodge chance for added survivability. The Frozen Shield offers the same damage reduction as Ankh, while having more defense and 25% damage reduction when below 50% health, allowing you to last a fair bit longer. The Horseshoe Balloon provides no benefit other than increased flight speed, which the Frog Gear already does, or you can consolidate those slots into Amphibian Boots, providing both sprinting and fast ascent.

Move back down to the ground. Generally, one player will be able to lure the head away from the other.

What class are they playing? Shroomite stealth lends itself well to exactly that cheesy multiplayer playstyle, especially with Chlorophyte Bullets or Arrows or Nano Bullets.

That already increases aggro anyways. With a defensive build and that armor, Golem can't do much to you on Expert.

Here's that same concept applied against Legendary Golem, though obviously in a larger space.

I'd go explore the underground snow biome first, get yourself the flinx staff and the robe for an extra summon

then go to the jungle and try to get mats to make the jungle whip

that combo should get you through the first couple of bosses, on a corruption world you might want to use the finch staff for eow

As a burgeoning summoner (pre-hm), I've found the whips are actually kinda decent. You can rock the Demon Scythe or Zap with some summoner and magic gear, I used DS and summons for EoW. But for some other bosses like Skeletron I need to go full Obsidian and use the whip
