To start, cutting down trees for wood is good. Unless you want to be lost like a mouse you best build a house. If you're exploring the surface remember: if it's green it's mean, if it's red you're dead, if it's purple it's a hurdle, if it's yellow be mellow, if it's ice you're nice, if it's a normal cave be brave. When you start underground exploring watch out for the darts, find chests, life crystals and mine ores to be less stressed. silver/tungsten gold/platinum will get you well-dressed. When your health is full and you can hit like a bull, you're boss-ready.

But you can still go for things like a Daedalus Stormbow with unholy arrows for the destroyer, use archery potions and a magic quiver for more damage and arrow speed. the stormbow can be obtained from hallowed mimics, use 15 souls of light to craft a key then place it in an empty chest
there is also cursed flame darts which you can make from cursed flames. to get corruption you buy corruption seeds from your Dryad while in a graveyard biome then plant them on some dirt in the cavern layer and let it spread. to fire cursed flame darts you'd want a dart pistol from a crimson mimic, 15 souls of night to make a key and put it in an empty chest.
other good options are a Night's Edge, meteor staff, crystal serpent, or a balde staff from the queen slime

generally depends on what you are doing. Xeno staff has extremely high accuracy, the desert tiger staff is insanely OP with a firecracker whip, teraprisma is the general most powerful but needs you to beat empress of light during the day

Carry a bucket or 2 of honey with you, standing in honey completely negates poison damage, you'll still be poisoned but it won't damage you and you'll actually start regening HP

Hardmode is the 2nd half of the game. Once you beat wall of flesh your game changes drastically with new biomes, new enemies, and a lot more to do
Not to be confused with world difficulty which you select when you make a world

There are 3 tiers, tier 1 is after Brain of Cthulhu or Eater of worlds, tier 2 is after 1 mech boss, and Tier 3 is after golem
Tier 1 is only 5 waves and ends with the dark mage, tier 2 is 7 waves and ends with the Ogre, and Tier 3 is 7 waves has dark mage, ogre, and Betsy (a giant dragon)

Nope, but there are various things that do increase mining speed, such as the mining potion, the miner set, the ancient chisel and subsequent upgrades (don't know if the effect stacks with the upgraded accessories or if only 1 applies at a time when multiple are equipped), modifiers directly on the pickaxe that affect speed, etc.
