since one can't spawn if another naturally-spawning one is too near to it

I'd take out Abigail and use it with Firecracker, at least until getting Spider Staff, or you can keep using her until getting Blade or Sanguine Staff, as she gets a direct damage boost in Hardmode and pairs well with the Firecracker. You should get Spider armor as soon as possible; you don't even need a Hardmode Anvil for it, then you can also go for Queen Spider Staff if you wish. If you're going to use Blade Staff, definitely go for Cool Whip and swap to that when you get it. Defeat either Queen Slime or Dreadnautilus for their respective summon weapons and then fight the Twins, as they let you craft Optic Staff.
