Sub Mana Cloak in for Magnet Flower
and Celestial Emblem in for Sorcerer Emblem
Cuffs can go into Ankh slot or somthing, or you can get another +15% magic damage there (Celestial Emblem and Sorcerer Emblem stack)
Mana Cloak still has flower effect (which sucks, to be clear) + mana stars drop on hit, restoring 50 mana when collected.
Celestial Cuffs, if you use them, restore some mana on hit, increase mana capacity by 20, and collect stars from a long range.
Celestial Emblem is magnet effect and +15% magic damage.
Would maintain everything you have, just also include an extra source of damage and/or mana depending

Melee's usability is heavily dependent on what stage in the game you are in. It doesn't have anything even remotely usable until post-mech bosses. True Excalibur and True Nights Edge are pretty good, but I don't necessarily think I'd call them the best weapons of their tier. From there to post pillars, its just ok. You've got stuff like influx weaver, vampire knives, etc, which are pretty good. Its probably the best class to use for the moonlord fight, with solar eruption, but thats debatable. Post moon lord, zenith obviously throws everything else out the window.

Ignoring that pre-HM swords that players went for anyway, like the Blade of Grass and Muramasa, have bonus projectiles now, they've always had a large hitbox and a lot of damage, especially for something so easily accessible.
Furthermore, considering boomerangs, spears, and flails, Melee has easily the most flexibility of choice. Boomerangs and flails operate well as long-ranged weapons. Up to end of Pre-HM, melee has ench sword, ice blade, night's edge, star fury, etc. which all have either a lot of DPS or a lot of range, or both

Sword shouldn't be an option for auto select. It sounds like whats happening is your Key for that slot is stuck. Like if your sword is in slot 1, that means you 1 key on your keyboard is stuck and is being constantly pressed. Try opening up word pad or microsoft word and seeing if it just constantly types that number

Also, I absolutely do, my man. This, more to its root, is players getting what they want for less effort. When has that caused problems? Literally all the time. The saying "give a food take a yard" is literally representative of this. Players are given a "foot" here, and they want a mile more to work with, because it's easier, and less grinding, etc.

Both aim to hold a position very close to the player, teleporting if the player is too far, both have multiple attacks that either have homing or significant area coverage, both use an attack that either is a beam, or is very similar to one, that encourages the player to continue a particular path, rather than weaving through a set of regions.
The difference is in implementation of those states; ML is poorly designed because it does a lot in parallel, you have all the homing projectiles, and the beams, and the other beam, etc etc. It's a lot more to manage, and it feels very random. EoL, on the other hand, is very orderly, it's sequentialised, and telegraphed. You have one attack at a time, and most of them are shown to you before they're executed.

Yes, the initial biome will be contained. For the ones that generated with the world, you can instead dig down to the Cavern layer, then a tunnel underneath the evil biome that connects to a shaft at the other end, forming a U shape.

Otherwise there are also many more great mods like polarities, Mod of redemption, the stars above and thorium
Remnants is a cool one because it gives a complete overhaul to world generation
