Biome spread can come from underground. Random stone blocks are usually what convert first, then it jumps up to the surface. It used to be that break altars would occasionally spawn a random Crimson/Corruption block but that, I believe, has been changed.

It could be that the tile update can incorrectly corrupt a tile when no source blocks are near by. Either that or the background tiles are contributing to it. I’m not extremely technical in my terraria knowledge, but it’s the best I can come up with.

first off, you'll want to choose what class you want to play

as of now, theres 4

melee, ranger, mage, summoner

melee is the most tanky class and using swords that summons projectiles
ranger is the best for bosses, as it has the highest single target damage
mage has a lot of variation of attacks from staffs, to tomes, to magical weaponry, its fun to use
summoner is the weakest of them all, but is very good againts groups of enemies with the summons

There isn’t really a specific way to play the game, it’s kinda up to you what you wanna do. There’s plenty of exploration to do, so when I start a new world I first build a house with a couple of rooms for new NPCs to move in (make sure you meet the criteria) and then start exploring. There’s lots of things you can find and getting new weapons asap will definitely help you early game because the starter sword is trash.

The best tip I can give you is that Terraria Wiki is ur best friend. When in doubt about what an item does or literally anything, wiki it and you’ll find an answer. I’ve played terraria for years and I always use Terraria Wiki because it’s impossible for me to remember everything.

Throw Silt, Slush or Desert Fossils into the Extractinator, then use the Rubies gotten to craft Gemcorns. Plant them on Stone underground and wait for them to grow into Ruby Trees. Make sure to space them far enough apart and to keep them from torches.

cover moonlord parts in ichor and switch back to the nebula fist

Ichor decreases enemy defense by like 15 points or something
