Not really, unless you're playing on the Don't Dig Up or Get Fixed Boi secret world seeds, where overcrowding will never reduce happiness.

Corruption > crimson unless you're going for tank build.(you can get ichor by making an artificial crimson biome in caverns after entering hard mode and that's the only reason to get crimson.)

Well yes you can also get the crimson mimic drops with the same method but it will take absolutely forever.
