You spawn the event by being high in the sky usually space layer but can spawn in regular sky and on one of the sides of the map

Best way to to beat the boss space ship that spawns semi randomly I think is something with piercing really simple atk pattern make sure you have good wings

you can also try to make an underground jungle zone which you can swap with glowing mushroom biomes

but tbh you can just use a section of the Jungle and use the blue solution (you need the Truffle, check wiki) to farm for Truffle worms and other rare enemies

and then swap back with green solution
