OK so what your gonna need to do is go to your corruption!/crimson and you know the altars your gonna wanna break as much as you can but leave a few then you should have something along the lines your world has been blessed with cobalt/palladium, mythril/orchalcium, adamantite/titanium the you need to find those ores and mine them

About the hammer what I would suggest is fighting him again however if no demons are spawning I suggest you using blue water candles mainly found in dungeons

Then when you finally mine enough Ore you should be able to have a better fighting chance against the mechs and once you defeat them they should drop you hallowed bars which you can make armour weapons and pickaxe id suggest seeing the guide as he shows you exactly everything you can make

I'm not sure tho if you can mine the chlorophyte (green jungle ore) with the hallow pickaxe or if you have to kill plantera first

If you need help still i suggest you look at some terraria Yt they help out quite alot
