Just fight the cultist do the pillar for your respective class get your new weapons make sure all your modifiers on your weapons and accessories are optimal and get some good potions and you'll be ready for moon lord
And if you don't already get the rod of discord it's extremely helpful with moonlord especially for dodging g the phantasmal death ray

if you manage to find a granite biome, you can kill granite golems to get a night vision helmet, and it combines with the mining helmet. That helmet gives you an infinite lasting effect that acts like the nightvision potion, and with the other parts of the mining armour, gives you the set effect
You can also use a bone/silver pickaxe for the fastest mining speed in the game
(in pre-hardmode of course)

oh, in that case you could use the shroomite digging claws for a mining speed. Use something that goves you Exquisitely Stuffed and drink a mining potion
to be honest, that’s just for precision mining, or quick mining in one direction. If you want to just destroy stuff very quickly you could use the Drill Containment Unit or the Celebration MKII

I don't think you are, there's guns you can get early on which will help, but you don't wanna kill the wall just yet anyway otherwise it will just make your playthrough harder
