Typical potions. Swiftness, ironskin, and regen potions are your main potions that you should always get if possible. They are also easy to farm. Any other potions are usually okay to just collect over time through chests and aren't super worth crafting, like thorns or knock back. Just grab one pre boss if you have them. No harm.

Also try to get a food buff

Actually, they added a new buff this update that you get through kites and it gives a huge buff to a bunch of stats. You can just buy the koi kite from the zoologist and fly it around until the buff is at 12 minutes for the highest stat bonuses. The bonuses decrease as the buff time decreases.
