a good weapon to start with once you start hardmode is the Shadowflame bow. can easily be got during a goblin invasion by killing Goblin Summoners. good decent weapon with autofire. also pairs good with endless quiver until you get the Daedalus.

Why did some caves turn crimson after i defeated WoF?

Once you enter hard mode, you get a patch of evil and a patch of hallow spawn in a random place in the world, and they both now spread... quite fast. It won't slow down until post-plantera or if you clear it up (which will be difficult for early hardmode)

Well kind of... there's other ways of controlling the spread

Block it off by having at least 4-6 block wide gap between the evil and purity (on all sides). That way it can't spread further than it has already gone, and can be cleared up later easily

I have been using a crimson world but I want to try corruption

There's a different boss, ore, weapons, enemies and world generation for each biome

While the crimson has large crimson rocks that lead down to altars and crimson hearts, the corruption has pits that lead down to demon altars and shadow orbs

You can get different weapons from corruption than crimson, like how you can get a clinger staff only from corrupt mimics
