Thats a good idea. I used red-painted orichalcum bars because bars can sometimes make good rooves when paired with echo blocks, but I'll try to experiment with other blooks too!

My world was originally generated back on PS3 in 2013, and I played until 2015 when I quit. Then I came back in 2024 when I found out I could transfer worlds from console to PC. I moved my builds using Tedit to a much larger Terraria world generated on PC in 1.4.4.

Yes you can transfer worlds between console and PC using particular unofficial methods.

You just need to know how to use the save decrypting bot for PS4, that’s the only way to do it.

Fun fact about transferring old PS3 generated worlds to PC, they are incredibly glitchy and are known to cause crashing. Most noticeable, the bottom part of the underworld section didn’t load properly in game, as if you are in a multiplayer world and the game suddenly stops loading the map upon a certain point.

I’m talking about 1.1 PS3 worlds too. Ones generated 12+ years ago on PS3. That’s the reason I used Tedit to move my builds off that world to a world from 1.4.4. Also, worlds back then were much smaller and lacked things like a jungle dungeon or even full snow and desert biomes.

At least with the new larger world I got more space to build, and I got a jungle dungeon and more things unavailable in 1.1.

When it comes to building, how does texturing work and how to do it for use on wood, stone blocks and others?

wood: know the shapes of the types that blend vertically or horizontally and mix and match em in their category, and for stone usually patches of each or completely mixed randomness looks good, experiment with gray painted blocks stone and other stones to see what works

may i suggest paint?
i like the mixing of the wood, tho i’m not too much of a fan of the woods used for it. if you get dynasty wood, white dynasty walls is good, most wallpapers can be painted to look nice, and brick walls are good too — especially the dungeon bricks.

i am not much of a fan of boreal wood in general and i usually use ebonwood for vertical uses like pillars (though it can look good as like a horizontal trim)

I did gold crosses above the windows as a small detail, using ancient gold brick wall. I like it. It fills in that area a bit more.

I like how I do it from a front perspective. I never even thought of trying to build it like that

I build it through the eyes of the player character. So I always imagine my mirrors would be like on a side wall

snow brick, pearlstone, glowing moss walls, disc, most ore brick walls can all make good tiles
smooth marble, wallpapers, silly balloon, pearlwood, ebonwood, white dynasty, most rough bricks (mudstone, crimstone, blue slab, etc) can all look good

i would just not... i thought about it for a few builds to try to use alternatives to make it look like its from a certain perspective but it will likely look better if you just leave it as a side view
