For comparison, Flying Knife has comparable stats to Night's Edge damage-wise and much better range, and is only mediocre to average against the Twins. Even Hardmode ore swords would dish out better close-range damage, and Twins are not a very practical boss to use short ranged weapons on to begin with since they tend to keep distance when shooting projectiles.

I'd probably even consider going for Dread if you can to have the best odds against Duke or Mechdusa. If you're used to low-grav Duke or have the resources to deal with enraged Duke (on No Surface-type worlds), Tempest Staff will make Mechdusa considerably easier.

Otherwise, you could either rush the coil of Destroyer with Blade Staff, kill it normally or swap to Abigail + Firecracker until Destroyer is killed, then switch back to Blades.

usually in battle later in the game (where you don't seem to be) you get high, even above the arena, and getting to sky is very common
